  • Thanks to my buddy Gabriel over at The Last Huntsman Outdoors. He sparked my love for Becker Knives, and knofe customization in general, so go check his channel out. For this transformation, I used a few things. An old baking pan with tin foil Overton for an easy cleanup and reuse. Jascos Paint and Apoxy Stripper. Some random scraping tools from the workbench. Some Apple Cider Vinager. and a little TLC. The end result is just the knife just stripped and added the new scales. No polishing, no buffing wheel and no resharpening, YET!

I've had my bk-16 for over a decade now. It's my favorite fixed blade. I'm glad to see someone still enjoying one when there are newer options available by Becker. I've done the same mods and grinded my spine and reprofiled the blade.Micarta scales were the best upgrade. I love how I can just thump on that thing and it's indestructible.

I think that circle mark is a finger print from the oil on your finger before you acid washed it. I always wipe mine with alcohol and use gloves before dropping it in acid. Just a thought because I know from experience.

I'm a newbie with this, Why do you strip the textured coating? Thanks for any answer. (I get the scale switch.)

Last time I used the spray Jasco, it didn't make the coating bubble. I think Becker might have changed their coating.

Your knife is now "organic" since you used "organic" apple cider vinegar? Lord...
