    showing the before (unphotoshopped) and after really helps! i think so many clients dont value the post editing and a camera is not the definitive 100% end result :,)

    I typically use my flash strobes for small product, but this is excellent how small products can be lit with RGB LED lights like Aperture and SL60, and also window light. I certainly learned a lot here and I will try continuous light not just flash. Thanks! Wondering how much you use continous light sources vs. flash softbox these days for product? Is it 50/50?

    • @amandacampeanu
      @amandacampeanu  3 роки тому +1

      I usually have my light on the right hand side and it's directed at the products. As the scene is quite small in terms of space and my softbox is large, the light also lights up the background at the same time.

      You need a modifier that has a bowens mount for the fv150 and SL60w. Double check the photo and description when purchasing gear to ensure it’s the right one you need and it fits your light. If you definitely bought a softbox (and not an umbrella) maybe the supplier sent you the wrong one? I’d double check your order and the description of the product.

    I don't understand why so many photographers feel the need to edit their photos. I understand if you are layering your shots like you did - but if you take the picture right the first time there is no need for any post production work accept for cropping or centering. I use a Canon Rebel T8i and I shoot wirelessly tethered, I immediately see my shot on my 3rd monitor and I can make any adjustments (ISO, exposure compensation, f/stop etc.) with the Canon EOS software. No post production editing needed. Maybe I'll have to move a light but that's all. Great video & congrats to you for making a name for yourself as a brand photographer! You sure do make those products look spectacular!

    • @amandacampeanu
      @amandacampeanu  2 роки тому +3

      I think in the world of commercial photography where the photos are being taken for specific advertising purposes (which is the industry I’m in), editing greatly enhances a photo to make it so much more eye catching than a RAW image. If you saw some of my before and afters you’d probably think the before photos look terrible haha. And no one would even be stopped in their scroll to look at the image. Post production is also an expression of creativity as well as you can do so much with an image in editing. It’s very rare that a photo doesn’t need further editing when it comes to commercial work 😊

      @@amandacampeanu As Austin Powers would say "That's not my bag baby" I sell high end collectables online and I strive for consistency, and to provide an accurate visual representation of the exact item (flaws included). I have zero knowledge of commercial work. I have put alot of money into my gear and equipment. I shoot tethered (wireless) with my Canon Rebel T8i and I do get creative with some items i.e... reflective surface, gradient backdrop, under lighting, acrylic risers etc. My biggest pet peeve is when I see photos of items on peoples dryers, countertops etc and when they are dusty dirty...Geez get some white paper and a damp rag for crying out loud! I'm self taught; started with a Sony Cybershot, then a Fuji Fine Pix, Canon Rebel XTi, Rebel T6i and now the T8i. And I owe UA-camrs like you a lot of credit. Between trial & error I have learned a tremendous amount from folks like you over the last 7+ years. 😊👍 Although highly reflective items are still a royal pain 😆 I get my creative on by doing macro photography of flowers, dew on the grass, anything that catches my eye. Thank you for taking time from your schedule to reply. I hope this message finds you well :)
