Very helpful, thanks! I’m a freelance photographer that has shot mainly events, gigs & landscapes, but I’m just starting to get into product photography. Love that you’re an Aussie too, so if you recommend something, I won’t always have to get it from the US haha. I bought some of those clips at The reject shop for $6!
Hey mate, I understood everything since I'm in AUS as well. What stands do you recommend for holding things like paper and items with the clamps? Where'd you get the black paper drop etc? Anything else also interested to know where you got them, cheers
I could love to se video of how you created the tray out of the acrylic sheet. Or cCould you maybe explain how and what you have used? Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🏻
Amazingly helpful video 🙌🏼 I didn't quite understand HOW you created the tray out of the acrylic sheet? Could you maybe explain how and what you have used? Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🏻
Great video. Thanks heaps for the tips. Just looking at getting into this area of photography. Do you have any videos on your lighting set up, backdrops? Its so confusing! Confused if I should go continuous or strobe. Love from Sydney, Aus. Off to Bunnings now to get those clamps. 👍
Hey Vicci ✌🏼Glad to be of help! I don't have any videos of my lighting set up yet, but if this is something you would be interested in ill add it to my list! I prefer continuous lighting for product photography so I can really see those crisp shadows.
Question: how do you reach out to brands? Do you work off of a platform like fiverr or something or just emailing individual brands. Asking because alot of brands that I've looked up email starts with help@. So I know it won't reach the right person
I work primarily with brands that have reached out to me personally, but when I do reach out to a brand I like to message them personally on Instagram. You would be surprised how well a personal message can work for a small business :)
If done well, they are a great way to add depth to an image. I’ve recently been using light stencils to add specific shadows to our images which I’m going to talk about in an upcoming video!
What are your essential photography items?
Probably the camera
Gaffer tape ! For almost everything
The lighting explanation while product photography was wonderful it's like was taking a live class
Hands down an incredibly helpful video. Thank you for not just saying what to get but giving a brief example of how to use it well.
Happy to help!
Thank you for sharing your tips! Very straight forward. Gotta love Kmart as well haha

This was extremely helpful, especially when you showed how to highlight and shadow on a glass bottle! Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
Good video, by the way!

Hi Susanne - its on my list to make this tutorial 😊
This is well explained and so, so useful and full of great info, thank you so much!!!
Happy to help!
Hi, where did you get the large acrylic tray? Been looking everywhere for one of those!
I actually made it myself! With materials from my local Bunnings.
I purchased a clear try from West Elm in the US. But a search on Amazon showed some for under $30.
What weight fishing line do you recommend? They come in all weights and some are very thin and some are very thick.
40lb. Its super cheap and strong.
@@BidPixel Thank you.
@@vuk8985 Anytime, mate!
This was such a great video, super informative! Just subscribed! 🙌🏼
Thank you Anneline!

I wasn't expecting so much interest in this so I might make that video explaining how 😊✌🏼
which kind of light that i should start to buy
thanks, is the foam core just styrofoam (thermocol) or is it somehow hardened and made sturdy?
Its just regular foam core from the craft store. We have found its quite study for what we use it for ✌🏼
Very gd 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
How do you use that fome?
how thick is the acrylic sheet? thanks.
It is 3-4mm thick ✌🏼
any links for the acrylic sheets to buy from?
what size of you acrylic sheet and tray please?
The one I bought from my local hardware store is 900x600mm and 5mm thick ✌🏼
wouldn't glass be better than acrylic? I could be wrong. Just curious.

Hey Vicci - I just uploaded a video about my Lighting setup for you✌🏼 Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/3xEk7USInJs/v-deo.html
Helpful but it would have been better to see the actual positioning of the diffuser with the lighting
Happy to cover this in other videos ✌🏼
❤
What mm lens are you using for this video?
16-35mm lens
@@BidPixel any reason you didn’t use a macro 100mm lens? Wouldn’t there be more detail? Thanks 😊
@@HarryEliteOfficial Don't worry that lens is definitely on my list but I've found the 16-35mm works well for now

Good tips, thank you. If you could level up your audio it would be very helpful.
Hi Bob - This was one of my very early videos, I promise the audio is a lot better quality now ✌🏼
COULD I PLEASE HAVE A NAME OF the light source and the black paper you have please!!!!!
Check out my most recent video to see my whole lighting setup! I get all of our backdrops from Hypop!
I just hate those reflections 🥶
You leave no links
I've left links in the description for things that i got online. If there is no link then you will be able to find it at your local hardware store :)
Links to your social media accounts takes me to Page Not Found(404 error)
Thanks for letting me know! Problem should be fixed now. If not you can find me @bidpixel on all social media platforms.
Yeah fishing line is great but you need a C-Stand to use it
True it is a lot easier with a C-stand, but there have been times i've made do with some poles and some heavy duty tape, or a second pair of hands 👌🏼
What do you think about shadows in product photography?
If done well, they are a great way to add depth to an image. I’ve recently been using light stencils to add specific shadows to our images which I’m going to talk about in an upcoming video!
@@BidPixel thanks for answer 🙏
Why this destracting background sound? Your Präsentation would besuch better without it!
