    Appart from the exelent guide its good that players see that a medic can defend himself or the group if they are getting flanked. Picking up that headshot kill and right after spotting that invisible infiltrator was also a good thing to see.

    2 things: 1º: Give the credits for Wrel's job
    2º: Put these videos on the launcher or the site menu so the newer players will see it

    A few things I'd like to add:
    - I recommend certing out the medical applicator to at least rank 4 as quickly as possible, and prioritizing getting it fully upgraded. The ability to heal and revive allies quickly means earning experience faster, as well as getting you out of the line of fire sooner.
    - The revive grenade will only revive allies with about 40% of their health; be ready to pep them up with your green beam of happiness once they're back on their feet. Also keep in mind that they can't revive MAXes, nor will they revive you if you're killed after throwing one.
    - For whatever reason, it is much faster to revive a dead ally than to heal a severely-wounded one back to full. Under heavy duress, it may be more efficient to let an ally die to be revived than to spend the extra time healing. (Though this really only applies with higher-level applicators.)
    - Shield regenerators can serve as passive cert income just like ammo boxes do for Engineers. Just remember that the bubble is highly visible and will highlight allies standing in it, especially at night- so don't make your teammates turn themselves into glowing targets just to get the benefits.

    Flak armor is incredibly valuable. Since you aren't necessarily the bullet shield on your squad, the thing you need to avoid the most is damage from explosions (grenades, tanks, liberators, for example). Not only does this mean you'll survive blasts your squad-mates might not, and then be able to pick them up, it also means you can survive the occasional trip-mine (which is also another method of room clearing, the mine-laden infiltrator).

    Please please please link these tutorials in a visible place in the goddamn client. Your average newbie pubbie won't bother to look for it on his own.

      Yep and leave it there permanently. Great stuff and it'd be a shame if the people who'd benefit the most from these never saw them.

    When healing a team mate and you're in a hurry start healing them with left click and then pop you're aoe heal. The healing effect layers and you'll be able to heal your allies twice as fast.

    playing for 2 years i learn couple thing. you might want to turn your voice chat down as everyone and there mother will be screaming at you or in general that way you can focus on the situation at hand like hearing for foot spet from the enemy trying to flank. and sometime you don't have time to use your medic tool if rushed so find covor and till your able to push in to revive fallen allys I would recommend the revive grenade as there game as so many instagib weapon and vehicle and to can revive from out of reach ally in a big gun fight.

      ***** Well, its better than zero fucking particles, at least they should make their own engine. Look, all I want is the game to look as good as it did before, and I don't care which physics engine they use. Hell, they can use havok physics as long as it looks good. Right now explosions are bland, particles are lifeless, and debris don't interact with the environment.

    the fun fact is, that only veteran 100br players will be watching those videos just for fun. New players are not so deep into the game yet to start searching tutorials on the net.
    If you want to help new players there is only one way - ingame tutorial.

    • @acequat
      @acequat 10 років тому

      i agree. the devs need to work on implementing better and more elaborate ingame tutorials instead of relying on the community to do this work for them. i think almost nobody who's just started playing the game is going to be like "hm, lets check out the official planetside2 youtube channel for newbie guides". i see that the devs wanted to have 'an easy way' out of this by letting the community introduce new players to the game. but this wont work for the majority of new players. we need training grounds for everything, for all classes and all vehicles, ingame.
      alternatively, they could embed Wrel's vids INTO THE GAME instead of keeping them on this channel which hardly has any views. i know you'll find a way how to do this SOE!

    • @dailyforman
      @dailyforman 10 років тому

      new players would not be watching any videos in the game either, forget that. Aint nobody got time for that.

      NOPE! Noob player here, just started 6 hours ago. All I've been doing for the last 3 hours is watching tutorials so I can be less of a chump on the battlefield. This advice is great, and I'd encourage more people to make advice videos for noobs like myself.

    Medic pro tip. Don't try to res someone while in the line of fire. Jumping in to res another only to die does not make you a hero. You simply give the enemy 2 free kills.

      this only applies if you are in combat with MAXes or tabks if you are up against a door it is while being fired upon it is better to heal them :)

  • @Crit-Chance
    @Crit-Chance 10 років тому

    It's also important to note that revive and heal grenades do not affect MAX units, so don't waste your grenades!

      +Captain Blubber but if a max is near a triange vehicle, it heals the max ._.

  • @an0maly5k27
    @an0maly5k27 10 років тому +2

    Woah triage does an aoe heal to targets near your vehicle? How far does it heal with maxed triage? Long time BR100 here and I never knew about this. Always dismissed it as a pretty useless cert line but hopping onto a flash and driving it into a building would be pretty sick if it heals through multiple floors.

    • @ztSHOCK
      @ztSHOCK 10 років тому +1

      Last time I checked it even healed MAX units standing nearby, so it's great if you have Burster MAXes defending a Sunderer while you, as a medic with triage, man a basilisk or walker.
