  • Hello Gang,
So we've decided to post a video to show how to stretch tires properly without a cheetah machine or blowing our heads off, or burning the hairs of our arms and billbullls.
Check out these hellaflush super stanced proper fitment wheel/tire combo to get all the fly hunniez

Struggle buss , this guy in on the struggle plane, the prosess of using the tire inner tube is the safest way to air up a stretched tire and a tire that will not seat to the wheels bead. Here is a tip, flip the wheel upside down and use the tire bar and push arm and it will go on easier. Make sure you clamp the wheel from the outside, so you don't damage the face of the wheel. If the tires are directional make sure you don't have the tire on the wrong direction. I can do all 4 wheels and tires in a matter of minutes. Wheel and tire look great, that hankook is a great tire for car enthusiasts looking to stretch on a wheel. I use the the nittos motivo for daily use and the hankook for track or canyon.

I'm running Kumho's 225/40r18 on the exact same rim. Your method seems to be the fastest and easiest way I've seen. And I like how you would still do it even if you don't like it. To many tire places here don't want to mess with it or complain the whole time.

Stretched tires isn't just about look it also has its upside to drifting it helps with with transition of the wheel going from negative camber to positive in other words when caster takes affect in initiation of drift and for those people that say this is dumb I'm pretty sure there are things that you like or do that people think are stupid too but to each his own and for the maker of this video I appreciate your time to take out to educate a safer way to doing this but it would of been nice not to bash other people that didn't think of doing this a better way let alone someone's opinion in style and as long as drifting and standing is alive there always be stretched tires so I don't think this ( FAD ) is going to be goin any where anytime soon jus like how people bashed drifting when it first hit the states hard in 05 because Tokyo drift well that was 10 years ago and there are now hundreds of drift associations and even a major series for it (formula d) so don't be alonzo from straight out of Compton cuz you will be biting your tongue when your child say hey dad can we turn off nascar and put on formula d times change and evolve and evolution is something that no can change

finally a good video on it, the question I have for you, is if your tries are stretch, how much wear would be most likely be done to the tire with out camber on your car. Like for a daily driver but sitting up right with no bags and camber kits.

For those asking, if you have a 17" wheel buy a 17" bike tube, 18 for 18 ect. Be sure to lube the bead, tire and bike tube so it's easy to remove after you get the bead moving. We do it this way every time and it's by far the safest and best method to mount stretched tires.

  • @chanraxter2015

You mounted that thing from the wrong side son. That"s why it was such a struggle and why you had to cram the arm so deep to get to the drop center. That wheel is supposed to be mounted face down.

It's not called a reverse lip for nothing.
You actually need to install the tyre with the wheel face down.
Doing it like this risks damaging the tyre.

+ImageInMotion.com You really are completely unwilling to learn aren't you.
Numerous people have given you a clear explanation of what you're doing wrong.
Your whole "DROP DEAD CENTER" explanation is correct, although the term is wrong.
The problem is, you don't follow it yourself :P.
The tyre doesnt care bout where the face is, only about where the bead can fall into.
Imagine if this wheel didn't have a center section, only the rim.
Would you still mount it this way?
The part where the wheel gets narrower first is the part that should face up during tyre installation.
On this wheel the wheel gets narrower almost immediately after the rear bead.

no, it is not a reverse mount wheel.. as you can see in the video, the drop dead center is closer to the top, meaning it should be mounted upward facing or else you'll be stretching the tire and risk tearing it and damaging either the tire or wheel or even both.
      thank you for your concern.

This is for the content creator and any one who looks at the comments. This is definitely the wrong way to mount the tire in question on the rim in question. The rim is in fact a reverse mount rim; meaning the tire should be mounted from the reverse side of the rim. I would also recommend clamping the rim from the outside with rags between the clamps and the rim. I know these things because I do this kind of stuff on a daily basis.

    ImageInMotion;
While I have never worked in a tire shop, I have changed a lot of tires in my garage with a Harbor Freight tire changer as I do a lot of patching on "off road use" tires, that tire shops will not touch. I have also assisted in changing tires on Pro Rally Stage cars when I was working as pit crew. Those Rally tires are very heavy construction with very stiff sidewalls. Stubborn ones can take a LOT of bead lube or silicone spray lube and 125 psi before they will think of seating. I am excited to try the inner-tube trick next time I have a stubborn bead.
I respect that you may have a lot of experience mounting tires, and agree with your stated concern for damaging the bead of the tire.
This being said, please look about half way down on this page from Tire Rack. This shows exactly what others have said, several times about reverse mounting wheels.

Next time turn the rim around and mount it facing down it would've saved you a lot of energy the lip on the front side is to big to mount like that, I'm surprised the tire didn't rip, good job airing it up

    • @Image_In_Motion
      @Image_In_Motion  9 років тому

Definitely not a reverse drop rim, the dead center point is closer to the face of the wheel and the other end of the barrel is flared and the tire would definitely put lots of pressure on the bead if we were to install in that manner.
Rule of thumb is that you mount the tire on the side where the drop center is closest to, because it's the most logical option. In this case, it was closest to the top. I do agree that a 10.5 should be a reverse mount but the way that XXR mold's their barrels, it isn't.
      Thanks for your concern :)

+luis ochoa that's a 16" bicycle tube.. usually we go 2 inches smaller than the diameter of the wheel. Seems to work the best.

    And a 235/45/18 on 10.5" isnt that bad try like a 215/45/17 or 205/40 on a 10" wide wheel!!

Wheels are revise drop flip the wheel over and you'll have no problem putting it on

You'd be struggling to find a tyre shop in Australia game enough to do this. Laws must be a bit slacker there I assume. Not to mention the safety aspects.

damn I went with 265/40/18 on 9.5 wheel and 245/40/18 on 8.5 wheel. I regret it now it does not look that good, going with 245/40/18 on 9.5 and 225/40/18 on 8.5 I think it will look much better)

That's a reverse mount rim flip it over next time the tire will practically fall on instead of ripping or stretching the bead

Because that size is easy to stretch.
    225-40 on a 10 is almost effortless.
225-40 on a 11, we can't about difficulty on that one.

That wheel should be face down while mounting the tire that's why he had such a hard time mounting the tire.
