Hands down your best interview yet. Hope you guys continue the Corridor Cast, these are gold!
Thanks Zach! Let us know if you'd like to be a guest!
@@corridorcast Zach should totally be a guest
DUDE you should come by!
@@SirWrender Wren, you had some great questions! You all are such good interviewers! (btw, what 3D software would you recommend for someone just starting out?)
agreed
Still weird to see Joe without the sunglasses and the spiky hair.
RIGHT?!
Joe Penna / MysteryGuitarMan uhhhhh WTF haha. Oh hai Joe, congrats on your new movie!
As a brazillian, i feel so proud to have someone like Joe Penna representing Brazil in Hollywood!!!!
Same
I went to the Arctic Q&A in Los Angeles last Friday, and after everyone had headed to their cars I caught Joe in the hall. I suggested that he come on the podcast and he said "You'll never guess what I did yesterday." I'm so glad he came on, and I really enjoyed the podcast. Well done all around. And for the love of Film, go see Arctic!
Honestly I was skeptical of this podcast. I thought you guys should just keep to corridor digital and crew. But I'm getting surprised by not only the guests, but the quality of these. Niko is a really good host, and every guest so far has been really entertaining! Good job guys, you keep nailing everything you try to do
Why would you want only corridor digital and crew? Nothing more boring than watching the same people you see everyday.
@@FingerGunProductions he never said thats strictly what he watches, and he might have said that because nowadays so many channels do podcasts
Great interview!
I used to love MysteryGuitarMan its one of the founding fathers of youtube imo, ive never seen him outside his character and he seems like a such a sweet guy and I now cant wait to watch this
I don't know too much about Joe except that he was MysteryGuitarMan...but he's the one that directed Artic?! WOW
This and the Freddiew one we’re beyond informative for the UA-cam/Hollywood relationship! Joes career path is something I’d love to mirror, the shorts to small budget feature. Great podcast! Love Wrens enthusiasm and Nikos light hearted pace keeping it popping and moving along 👌🏻
I Highly recommend this movie. I was fortunate enough to see this when it debuted at Cannes Film Festival. I also happened to see Mads Mikkleson up close as he went dinner on a family Yacht.
did you get a whiff of him
Berry Bebop I got so close up to him that he wasn’t even speaking English.
Wow, Tobuscus. Haven't heard that name in a long, long time.
As a fellow Brazilian with a dream to make it abroad, I really hope Arctic comes to Brazil, either in theaters or Blu-ray. I'll be sure to support and share this! Congrats Joe Penna, I hope we can see you as one of the big shot directors a few years from now. Also, great interview guys! You got my sub
Thanks Joe Penna. Thanks Corridor. You inspire me to never give up.
Another great episode. Please give us a Node crew episode though!
Seneca Kier but Brandon by himself is a different conversation than him and D talking about Node together
Yesss!!!
Joe inspired me to start learning film making over ten years ago when I first saw Shake 4 on his behind the scenes channel.
He, along with you guys at Corridor and freddiew were the kickstart to my career in Visual Effects :)
Congrats on completing your first feature film, JP!
Oh hey Darren how's it going?
That was such an incredible episode. So much wisdom, filmmaking knowledge and all because you guys all told fantastic stories. Can't wait to see what Joe does next and can't wait to see when you guys make your own movie!
I started watching Joe's content since the beginning of his channel, I'm happy to see him making such a leap on his career! Also, I'm not usually interested in podcasts, usually I go for the short video segments taken from the whole thing, but I watched this entirely and it was great!
Holy shit, Joe Penna?!?! Heck yea, I was just rewatching his videos the other day. One of the greatest youtubers of all time.
I'm gonna be honest, I really don't like listening to or watching podcasts because I usually get bored. But damn, I really love how Joe Penna tells his stories. Crazy how it all worked out this well. Will have to wait a month until it releases here though.
16:00 joe! i'm happy to know you feel this way about how has everything turned out. its also a reminder for me to stay calm. congratulations!
Loved this episode. Thank you for sharing your stories, Joe! Especially for being so open and honest about them, you're a great storyteller. Can't wait to watch Arctic!
I was really hoping this podcast would come true! Thanks, this is awesome!!!
Best episode yet. Watched all of Joes stuff in the beginning - its great to see him rise to such a big project
50:42 _"Basically, four people on a spaceship headed to Mars. There's an accident that happens after they can't turn back to Earth and not everybody can make it all the way to Mars."_
There's a short story called The Cold Equations that has a similar premise. Except, instead of an accident, there's a scarcity in resources and a stowaway who didn't understand that there wasn't enough fuel for the ship to accommodate her.
The story's focus is on the characters explaining and accepting that there's only one practical solution to the situation, no matter how much they wish that wasn't the case. A lot of people have a problem accepting the premise, but I liked its description of a cold, unforgiving universe contrasted with a form of humanity that, while strict, isn't completely heartless.
I think this has been so far my favorite episode. The topics were really interesting, and man it really took a lot of coincidences to make this film happen. Fascinating stuff, very enjoyable to listen to!
god I miss classic Rhett and Link and MGM videos
Great stories, questions and guest. Can't really ask for more. I really like how you guys give the guests the time and space to answer the question.
This is probably my favourite episode so far! Joe talks so openly about the process of making the film and the way he talks about it is also very entertaining :D
This was really incredible. And I get so happy and proud to see a fellow brazilian so successfull and happy :D
Thank you for doing this !! This was highly informative and highly entertaining! You asked some on point questions that we as budding filmakers would have asked Joe! Do more of these and good luck to Joe! Saw Arctic, phenomenal movie!
I'm so proud of Joe ❤
Really really great podcost, all the ones where you have people who share the same passion as you guys are so great to listen to.
best episode so far.
I had not heard of this movie before, but now I really want to go see it. It's so awesome to hear a new director's point of view of making their movie.
Amazing, I used to be a huge fan of mystery gituar man early on, but I couldn't keep up with the short films.
I heard about the film and hadn't seen much, but after this interview, I'm very excited to see it when it launches internationally.
Really great episode, I loved hearing the details of producing, getting funding, finding locations ect. It'd be great to have a producers episode with Jake and Christian and hear how you guys prep for your videos!
I hac googled so many times what hes been up to... thanks for bringing him... now gonna listen this on itunes 😊✌🏻
This was a great EP, really fun and interesting stuff!
I tried to listen to you while drawing but it was so entertaining that I just switched tabs and ended completely caught up by it. Amazing episode!
What an incredible interview!
Really cool dude. Loving these podcasts!
Amazing dude!
Amazing podcast!
Watched whole podcast. I’m going to watch it
As someone who aspires to write and direct this was such a informative in-site into the industry thank you
this is so great!!!
The bear story is incredible!! Parabéns Joe, que orgulho, vi os seus primeiros vídeos de MGM há muito tempo atrás e ver você dirigindo Mads num filme desse é muito legal! Keep pushing my friend!!
I love his Skype impression.
He’s like the modern day Michael Winslow.
I can’t believe Joe Penna made arctic! I used to love watching mystery guitar man videos and I loved the film Arctic, genuinely the best film I’d seen all year, and I never knew it was made by the same person until I saw this interview. Good work man, what’s next!!?
This is huge. Congratulations Joe for making the jump to movie directing
Great episode! Joe is such an awesome guy.
Thank you for this
The snippet brought me here. Good job 😊🔥♥️ love you bye
I knew nothing about Arctic before this podcast. Straight away I went to look up the trailer and very curious now. Will be waiting for the international release!
MGM!!! No waiiiiii!!)

great to hear the bts of filmmaking on the next level
Ill be looking forward to it coming to the UK
Best interview yet! 100%!
Niko your were right this was definitely the best podcast so far!!!
This guy is so entertaining. He's so comfortable speaking after a bit and seems like how you'd speak with your homies. Embarrassing voices and all. Love it. Can we get more people from the industry so you guys can network more and make an "Anime" movie on a big big scale? lol.
I don't want this podcast to finish. Get Joe back! SOON!
Keep up the great podcasting guys! I love the guests you are having. I just wish you could perfect the sound levels! :)
Love this podcast! Makes me appreciate smaller films more.
Great show!
That Andrew Price signature in the background has me excited!!
I'VE BEEN WATCHIN MYSTERY GUITAR MAN FOR YEARS KNOWIN THIS GUY WAS GONNA DO GREAT THINGS!!!! i recently watched STOWAWAY and had no idea it was him!!! Good stuff!!!! (I'm gonna work with him soon! He just doesn't know it yet!...)
I need to watch arctic. Great podcast btw I have enjoyed every episode just chilling with the corroded crew for an hour or two with great guests like Mysteryguitarman
Great interview. I paused it halfway through and watched his sci-fi short Beyond on UA-cam, and holy shit! I'm a MysteryGuitarMan believer! Can't wait to see Arctic and his Stowaway movie. Go watch Beyond if you haven't seen it!
A certified legend.
Okay, so had no idea who this was... Yeah I'm a little sheltered in that regard (Corridor Cast your expanding my horizons). Anyway looked up Penna very interesting. I watched the trailer for Arctic and holy crap! I can't wait to see this movie! Congrats Joe. I'll be watching more of your stuff to!
YAY PODCAST
I was wondering where Joe dissapeared too after UA-cam. He was such a talented man for the early days of youtube and im so glad hes making a big name for himself!
Holy shit Joe did Arctic? I saw ads for that and it looked really good, I guess now I'll have to watch it!
That bear story was fantastic.
the bear story is awesome that should be its own Vidoe.

Best podcast yet
theres an addon to google docs that makes it kinda like a script, also, watch sunshine
I have MysterGuitarMan merch and I’m pretty proud of that.
joe penna is my idol ever since mysteryguitarman made guitar impossible.
this idea of youtube space tho. i just might apply it to a studio that i want to build. thanks guys!
I need to go see this movie.
I DEMAND MORE JOE PENNA!!!
Seems like he should have kept some of these great stories for a movie commentary lol. Great episode!
Niko, I use the Google Doc Add-On "Screenplay Formatter" with my students to write scripts.
Top Guest! Come back, Joe!
Sitting here listening to this just has me desperately longing to see what Sam and Niko can do. I so badly want to see what the corridor crew can do with a longer short film or full length feature film. I just want to see them go for it, not limited by the stipulations of brand deals or the soup sandwhich that was their red deal.
I like the Crank t-shirt, I like the movie too.
Its nice to see one of OG youtubers didnt get swollen by time :)
Where or how can I see the movie in europe?
Orgulho Brasileiro
where can I see the Arctic in UK?
Yall gotta get someone from Mega64 on one of these. I've seen sam and niko wear their merch time to time on the vlog channel. You guys could talk about early and pre youtube era of internet videos or some shit.
Am i the only one that thinks they are watching a cinema4D video with that plop sound effect.... It sound so similar.
YES! TINTIN reference!
Wren's face at 1.16.56
Wish I could find out how to watch arctic
I almost didn't recognize him without the sunglasses
I want to go watch this movie so bad now, but it's not playing in VA and the sites Joe talked about are unreachable
This one works: bleeckerstreetmedia.com/arctic
I hope it makes it's way to VA so you can see it!
-Jarrett
Has he seen the movie Sunshine???.....sounds similar in premise....(kinda)
