    Please check out Jackie Wilson “Work Out”. Jackie was praised for his dance moves he taught to Elvis, and who Michael Jackson credited for his early moves.

    Little Bitty Pretty One from 1957 was written and originally recorded by Bobby Day. The song was popularized by Thurston Harris who recorded the best known version the same year.

    Lymon's troubles extended to others after his death. After Diana Ross returned "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" to the Top Ten in 1981, a major controversy concerning Lymon's estate ensued. Zola Taylor, Elizabeth Waters and Emira Eagle each approached Morris Levy, the music impresario who retained possession of Lymon's copyrights and his royalties, claiming to be Lymon's rightful widow; Lymon had neglected to divorce any of them. The complex issue resulted in lawsuits and counter-lawsuits, and in 1986 the first of several court cases concerning the ownership of Lymon's estate began.

    The 1998 biopic movie is named after his hit song "Why Do Fools Fall in Love"
    It tells a comedic, fictionalized version of Lymon's story from the points of view of his three wives as they battle in court for the rights to his estate.
    The film stars Larenz Tate as Frankie Lymon, Halle Berry as Zola Taylor, Vivica A. Fox as Elizabeth Waters and Lela Rochon as Emira Eagle.

    he was17 or maybe 18 i believe when this song was a hit i'm assuming that's when he would be performing it on Band Stand. I think it was suppose to be 1960.. and yeah he died at 25 in 1968 he had been using according to him since he was 15 went through rehab of the day not too long after this video i think but fell back into it again till early 1968

    Thurston Harris turned "Little Bitty Pretty One" into a top ten hit in 1957. Bobby Day ("Rockin' Robin") wrote the song. Frankie Lymon released his version in 1960 after he went solo. Clyde McPhatter also released a version of the song in 1962 long after he left The Drifters. The Jackson 5 also released a version of the song in 1972, but they only gave Michael two passages in the song to sing when they should have given him most of them, imo.

    • @kd2mill
      @kd2mill 2 роки тому

      I think it was intentional with the Jackson Five version. It was an orchestrated build up to Michael's higher range. The bass track isn't bad either.

      Good question. I don't think so. It wasn't working out for Joe & his music group, but he saw talent in his kids. Michael wasn't in the group originally to have any bearing on that. However, both Michael Jackson and Berry Gordy gave Frankie Lyman credit for influencing them.

Frankie was 16 on this and the people who were supposed to look out for let him get turned out on heroin. He had no children, but he had 4 wives. He O D in his grandmother's bathroom at age 28. By then his voice had cracked and no one would book him for work, because he was not reliable. We loved this guy and to this day we still miss him. R.I. P.

    7:40 Sorry, no surviving kids. Frankie Lymon had a daughter that died a few days after birth in 1964. Allegedly he had three wives all at the same time. He neglected to divorce one before marrying the other. Zora Taylor, the female from the Platters, was his second wife. This was a big mess after Frankie's death. There was a fight over who should receive royalties from his music. The courts final decision was in favor of Frankie's last wife. She was the only one with legal documented proof of marriage.
