  • The Bose Frames are bluetooth enabled sunglasses. In this video, I show how I upgraded them with prescription transitions lenses. I'm able to use them indoors and outdoors since the lenses are now photochromatic.

    You mention lenscrafters? Did you have to leave your frames with them or they had it already available? How much did it cost for the transition lens?

    Thank you for this video! I recently started running and bought those frames so I don't have to wear uncomfortable in ears or unnecessarily huge over ear headphones.
    Since bose does offer replaceable lenses I was wondering if I could fit prescription glasses in it. I hab transitioning glasses in the early 2000s and they looked really shitty when darkened down. Yours look awesome though!
    Would you mind sharing what brand of glasses you got?
    Thanks! 👍

      I got Transitions gen 7 lens for my Bose frames. There are the newer gen 8 that are darker.

      @@KenVersus I know this is old, but they had no issues replacing the lenses? I was thinking of doing this too. I want to go to the gym with them and it is really weird to get in with sun glasses.

      They didn’t have issues making the lenses for the Bose. They have a machine that traces the opening of any glasses and makes them fit perfectly.

    What was the price for the prescription because as of now the bose frames retail for $250 and thats not with prescription?And were you not afraid of your optimologist breaking your frames because its not covered under warranty if damaged from adding prescription is it?Thanks!

      Yes, I wear them when at work on the computer. I am usually making phone calls with them. Or for music

    I'm waiting on mine to get done by a company in California (I live in Maryland). Mine is the Tenor, not the Alto. I ordered Transitions Vantage with Trivex premium anti-reflextive and anti-fog lenses. What do you think about these lenses and options? I can't wait to get them! Thanks for your video. 👍🙂

    • @KenVersus

      Anti fog is nice. i wish I got that.
      I still use mine for work. I like using the Bose as a headset to make calls and listen to music.

    Have you found it easy to swap out back to the original sunglass lenses (or have you tried)? Like you I bought transitions lenses. I ordered mine direct from Bose/Lensabl with my FSA so I’ll have to buy sunglass lenses for $30 from Best Buy. I wear contacts more often so I still want to use them as pure sunglasses.

    • @KenVersus
      @KenVersus  4 роки тому

      They pop in and out easy enough.

    • @schmittieus
      @schmittieus 3 роки тому

      How are they? I am about to order transition lenses from lensabl with tenor frames. Did they give you the original Bose lenses?

    • @afriend78
      @afriend78 3 роки тому +1

      @@schmittieus They did give me the original lenses. I’ve never popped them back in because my prescription lenses are a high index and I’m concerned about popping those thick glass lenses in and out of the plastic frame and wearing it out over time. Even the guys at my nearby Bose store (before they closed) thought it was smart not to do that. I have the Alto style, for you I’d recommend looking at the Tenor style up close in a store and picturing swapping those lenses with prescription ones (however thick they’d be for you) multiple times and see how well you think it would hold up. Also, a word on Lensabl. It took me a month to get my frames, that was because they had to remill the lenses twice to get them right. They’re frustrating to communicate with (only email at the time and they’re slow to respond) but in the end I was happy with the result and being able to use my FSA to buy audio sunglasses was awesome.

      Ya I bought my last pair of glasses online at zenni but I'm sure most of them are about the same but I paid like $70 for the flexibility frames and transition lenes or knock offs but still that's like 1/3 of what much lesser options I have gotten in person before but they said they don't do that for your own frames
