Why does no one ever mention the imitation game in interviews and how good his acting was there? Even in Sherlock Holmes he was brilliant.
Ikr. That was one of his best performances
fgy
Right. He was phenomenal as Alan Turing
@@johndover3936 I know right. actually going to re-watch it now :)
One of the best performance I have ever seen.

"Thank you wife"
"You're welcome honey"

Benedict trying to have an intellectual conversation with Jimmy is hilarious.
Im surprised Kimmel didn't try to interrupt with a lame joke
Guess he's being more careful after the Joaquin Phoenix interview
@@dannyalc4556 what happened with Joaquin Phoenix?
Try listen to Benedict's interview in Sway's universe, much better than this.
@@LaviensKim He might be referring to the part wherein Joaquin was "humiliated" by Jimmy which eventually was revealed to be scripted.
@@jonathanrazon1212 oh okay haha thank you!
That accent made him sound more Chris Evans than Benedict Cumberbatch
Chris Evans is from Boston
Captain America is from Brooklyn not Chris Evans
It's a bit strange.
Evans has a Boston accent, not Brooklyn. You're confusing Evans with Captain America
Thelise Moore I am not confused. I stated my opinion based on what I heard.
I’m a simple person. I see Benedict Cumberbatch, I hit like
That sounds good to me.
so.. ur going to like a benedict cumberbatch hate video?
Yes yes oh God yes
I concur.

Me: *Swears*
Audience (well, my Mom really): Don't use those terms!
@@linneamariequentin8216 Imagine a band popping out from behind, and congratulating you on your swearing.
Irony: Plays Dr Strange, a character in the Marvel universe.
Plays Thomas Edison, a man obsessed with DC.
Jokes aside, Benedict loves Superman and Batman
If there ever was an underrated comment....
🤣
@@deemura who told you that?

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a recording of Cabin Pressure before he went global with Sherlock. He made time for everyone after the recording and was just lovely

@El Capitano Guillermo dodo Of course I haven't met Elvis. But I really did meet B.C. like I said it was before he was really famous. My friend had tickets to a recording in London. It was really fun and he was lovely

dee mura thanks for clueing me in.
So does that mean Chris Evans would sound like Benedict if he did an English accent??
Malik Tyler Chris Evans is from Boston. Captain America is from Brooklyn
Well.......if Benedict with a Brooklyn accent really does sound like Chris Evans, then maybe, yeah.
However we all know that Chris is from Boston, so.........
It depends where he lived if he was from England Benedicts sounds pretty London to me but I have no idea where he lives if Chris lived in idk Yorkshire it would be entirely different

Benedict is so talented. I became a fan when I saw him in Sherlock. My friend who lives in Germany told me to watch it. He is so talented. Just brilliant.
Same, also became a fan of him because of Sherlock, and omg he’s just so good 😩😩😩
I became a fan of Benedict when I first saw him as Khan in Star Trek.
Benedict Cumberbatch is The Best Sherlock Holmes ever!!
I agree to that 😊.
i lost it when he said "how can basil be the highlight of a pie/"
The most Brooklyn part of the review was "if you want awtichoke, duck oah pine-nuts on yah pizza den GET DA FUKAUTTA HEAH!"
I tell ya, deeze scenestas wit' deah skateboads and deah micro-brew.
Actors from overseas are so kind to deal with our constant accent requests. Mad props to em' for dealin' with it.
His voice is so distinct that when he does accents in movies such as a grinch, I hardly knew it was him.
Yess, I was so surprised that he voiced the grinch
I know right I was also confused,it was like hearing a different person's voice 😅
He is such a polished speaker; clearly very intelligent. Love him!!
Talking about skateboards and roller blades:
“Do they have those in England?”
Do Americans think we live on another planet or something?
England is seen as still pretty old school and slow to pick up modern stuff, so Jimmy was just alluding to that. Benny seemed to confirm it in some cases too
Mayhap they do?
What Jimmy actually said was "They didn't have those in England?" - meaning that he was surprised that Benedict Cumberbatch would be shopping for skateboards and roller blades while on holiday in New York.
I was an exchange student in USA in 2007 and EVERY person would ask me whether we have phones,TV, beauty salons and etc. 🙈
Jimmy is just dumb
Jimmy correct English is " if I WERE your wife" . Benedict gently corrected....you didn't notice.
Subjunctive mood!
Noted!
If u don't help me I'm gonna be hunged
No
Hanged yes
he's so gentle & subtle i could never be angry with that man
IDK correcting a peer's grammar, especially on live TV, seems like a jerk move to me. I don't think BC was consciously correcting him. I think he was genuinely responding to the joke but sense he speaks the Queen's English........
Doctor Strange, Spider Man, Beast and General Zod in one movie
Hell Yeah!
A good cross over indeed.
*walk into a bar
That movie is already online in hd ..from 2 months
This movie was shot in 2015
I can't resist. Benedict Cumberbatch is soooo good. On so many levels.
CURLS!!! Sherlock Holmes again?!
BC is always playing the smartest people and that actually suits him so much
I'm always in tears laughing when he does the Brooklyn accent, like in the Mad Lib Theater video with Fallon.
that mad lib theater was iconic... wait a second, is that crowley i see?? flibbitty gibbitt!
Damn, strolling thru the comments I've never seen so many ppl (women) be so happy about another person's curls lol
IKR :)
That's 👉 wt I'm thinking
Same age as Benedict, I was visiting the states at 15 (west coast), from Australia, and also bought myself roller blades. Was definitely the thing to do there!
I can listen to him talk all day
Love Benedict cumberbatch. He's so beautiful and talented. Also funny. Love him!!

At least half of the audience, there, at home, and here on YT just faded off into fantasy for a moment with the words "If I was your wife..."

Should have tried to sabotage Benedict by inserting a few 'penguins' in that review.
that documentary is pure comic gold ,watch it and take a shot every time he mispronounces penguin and two if he says it differently in the same sentence .

Benedict is absolutely talented and charming. A real inspiration. He is so funny and adept at handling his craft, and people as well. Honestly, watching his mastery on-screen, hearing him convey tales from his life as well as be a great sport to silliness, makes me want to do better in life. No kidding. Big into Buddhist meditation too. I am very impressed. Love you Sir, you just keep on being yourself and I'm sure we'll see you just get better with time. Boston + Christopher Walken
He does tend to fish for his answer, get and chase the follow up. Can get frustrating (when guests are genuinely interesting) but I always get the sense he’s genuinely interested. That’s why questions tend to be genuine.

The curly hair is back! Could this be in preparation for Sherlock season 5?!!!
He’s the most charming man! ❤️
So... the MCU/Doctor Strange led me to Sherlock which led me to the ACD books which led to the Sherlock fandom (including RDJ filmes, Henry Cavill, etc) which led me to a fanfic that led me The Imitation Game which led me to Alan Turing. I started researching and Turing led such a fascinating life! I just can't seem to let it go. Turing also led me to appreciate computer science and mathematical theory/theorems (the Riemann Zeta function, the eichensdungproblem, etc). Fascinating stuff! Benedict is such an amazing actor and his movies and the characters he plays are always just brilliant. This year-long Cumberbatch rabbit hole has been so much fun-
