If it makes running up the A24 seem more glamorous, it was originally the Roman road from London Bridge down to Chichester. So you are running in the footsteps of legionaries and centurions…
That is very helpful Nick thank you. Also I wonder if they had any idea the level of documentary film making that would take place on that road just a few years later
This episode is packed full of some great quotes, “not a patch on Dales boot”, “hate it when people have dogs on a lead that’s a mile long”, “wasn’t even trying on the last one”, “pretty noisy shoes weren’t they” 😂 also some of your best cut away work, the bins, the people in the park staring at the sky. Decent run as well.
Apologies that I wasn't paying attention during some parts of the video, Rich. I was trying to think of an interesting and/or amusing comment to write afterwards. Never managed it in the end.
You've given me. The courage to run in Batersea Park. Perhaps we can do it together one day and cop out on one of those epic workouts and then goad Nick Bester into training us for free. 😂
Good workout whether you hit exactly the pace or not. I've found the marathon pace sessions at the middle/near the end of the long run to be really hard going (and my target pace is a bit less than yours at ~3:28 target time pace) but if I do it in the the first section I can keep it going longer and finish the session - not as good a simulation for going fast on tired legs but it gets it done. Loads of time left.
Yes I think I'm the same Daeve! I guess I'm just forgetting that I've been running loads more and my legs are tired etc etc. I just keep focussing on the fact I ran a 42:18 10K on NYE and that pace should feel easier! Gotta keep positive! Thanks!
Well done Rich! I'm just in my final week of Barcelona training before tapering. Wish I felt fresher 😅Also at 11:25...I knew that slapping runner would be in Asics 🤣
Cheers! I honestly don't know as it's only my second marathon. Garmin is saying I could do it in 3:42, but I don't think it knows me well enough 😅 Sub-4 would be an extremely happy result!@@TheRichKeeble
... regressively slower pace, I think you mean. Shame to have missed earlier episodes of your Game of Thrones type epic - all guts and tendonitis towards the Brighton Marathon. Do you think there is value in watching it having approached the vlog like a postmodern novel? 😮

Loved the sarf London travelogue. Sent me straight to "Bal-Ham Gateway to the South", by Mr. Sellers.
"Up the ruling classes" !

Well good for you for trying Mark! I actually think that's a better use of your time

ha it's a nice park! I think I'd do one of the half marathons around it at some point
Great video, we always love your updates 🙌 you’ve done some solid runs lately 🎉🎉
Thank you guys! As you may have inferred from Strava the next couple of episodes may be following a more negative tangent.
29kms with 11km tempo sounds brutal
ha yes, I guess it was!
I ran 19k the other day (training for HM) and found that pretty tough so any 29k training run is impressive IMO 👍🏻
Thank you! 19K is a decent run! well done! Which HM are you training for?
@@TheRichKeebleReading. And now have a sore arch 🙄
You look like cumulative fatigue personified 😅 a recovery week and you'll be on top of the world again 💪🚀
haha love that Greg. Should put that on a T shirt! I'm hoping I just need some recovery as you say. Hard to keep fully on top of a marathon plan.

Well I'd say there's absolutely value in checking it out, along with many other videos on my channel! Thanks for the support!
10:46. What on earth are these people looking at? Perhap a carrier bag caught in a tree?
Could be? I could go back and see if they're still there
binging...
Thank you Tapiwa! Hope you enjoy!
