@@BlackTestament7 Mainly because Ion Fury and Phantom Fury are two different types of FPS games. Voidpoint (Ion Fury developer) knew exactly what they were going for with Ion Fury, and executed it amazingly well. Really cool color palette. Couldnt help to notice that the reload animations are made like in the same way as anime, adding to the theme of the game. Modern Brutal Doom, yes please
i played the demo over and over and over again but lost track of the game this year til yesterday. Can't wait to see what they do with not only the rest of the episodes, but what else they do with this setting in future games. The "ridiculous" settings working on my little 2.8ghz i9 w/ rtx2060 in the gzdoom engine at 144fps is a programming marvel for a game like this. out of all gzdoom games and mods, this is obviously the goat
Maybe I'm just a bit simple, but the emotional damage clip never fails to get a laugh out of me. Well played. Also, good on the devs making the pistol an effective and fun weapon. It reminds me of Halo and how fun it was to play pistols-only deathmatch. I love the Robocop, burst fire style they went with here.
Forgive Me Father 2 is really good and you should play it, amazing visuals and right up your alley, starts off by waking up in a hospital inside a spooky lovecraftian setting
I have a genuine question, not trying to be bad faith here: What are the benefits of this being in the GZDoom engine? It's impressive for sure but what do the limitations of the GZDoom engine provide for the player other than a brief "I can't believe this is made in such a simple engine!" moment? Would the game have been worse if it was made in unity, godot or another modern engine? And if so, how?
The real reason is GZDoom is free to use and sell games with commercially. I dunno how it works with godot or unity but you don't need to pay for licenses if you are planning to release a commercial product which is why you see a ton of 'boomer' shooters these days use it.
Talking about limitation of the engine, do you know why Flashlight in Selaco have a battery limit? Answer: GZDoom Engine is not good at rendering light.
People taking old 2.5d and/or Early 3D engines and pushing their potential to the max is absolutely amazing. Cause yeah this is still GZdoom at it's core, but its unlike anything I've played on that source port

I really love games like Selaco, Dusk and Prodeus absolute heart sends to older shooters.
Honestly you had me at weapon upgrades and backtracking being worthwhile, I'm a sucker for exploration being rewarded in a significant manner beyond just "have some extra ammo and health packs"
i absolutely love this game so much :) i have everything cranked to ridiculous and i love seeing the rooms painted
Thank you for introducing me to Sonar Shock, now im going to have to divide my time between that, Selaco, and Skald..it's a great week for gamers.
The shotgun’s reload animation is similar to the Killzone shotgun reload, it’s killer
When it's easier to see what you're shooting at in Redneck Rampage than in this, something has gone terribly wrong.
Really cool color palette. Couldnt help to notice that the reload animations are made like in the same way as anime, adding to the theme of the game. Modern Brutal Doom, yes please
This is exceptional for a indie shooter! We live in a lovely age of indie gaming right now
Literally saw the bundle yesterday! You just gave me a reason to buy it
Crazy to think without King Charles III we wouldn't have fine videos like this
i played the demo over and over and over again but lost track of the game this year til yesterday. Can't wait to see what they do with not only the rest of the episodes, but what else they do with this setting in future games. The "ridiculous" settings working on my little 2.8ghz i9 w/ rtx2060 in the gzdoom engine at 144fps is a programming marvel for a game like this. out of all gzdoom games and mods, this is obviously the goat
i love the enviroment and artstyle it looks so unique and cool
Forgot to mention the peak of the game, the burger flipping minigame
Maybe I'm just a bit simple, but the emotional damage clip never fails to get a laugh out of me. Well played. Also, good on the devs making the pistol an effective and fun weapon. It reminds me of Halo and how fun it was to play pistols-only deathmatch. I love the Robocop, burst fire style they went with here.
Next, I hope we get Agent 64 out soon. The indie market is killing it with these!
Anyone notice that the ammo counter screen on the grenade launcher is a middle finger?
There is already a VR mod for this, and let me tell ya Sonny Jim; its fecking AWESOME
Forgive Me Father 2 is really good and you should play it, amazing visuals and right up your alley, starts off by waking up in a hospital inside a spooky lovecraftian setting
Well done review mate! This game is freaking awesome and you did an excellent job showcasing it. AAA WHO??
Cause yeah this is still GZdoom at it's core, but its unlike anything I've played on that source port
agreed
Awesome vid/review. I wish listed it on steam a few days ago. Definitely want to buy now.
the paper effects tho, OMG i was walking though the paper for like an hour and being amazing by it
