    As a beginner, I'm typically overwhelmed with following some tutorials since some just don't generally explain in such an easy to follow manner and explain how/why of what they're doing. Your video really helped me both do the animation and understand what I'm doing and why. Thanks so much.

    Today is my first day discovering Fusion 360 and I'm shook.. this is incredible and how easy it is to create such complexity... even for simply illustration purpose's this would be incredible.

    Awesome, I would also mention how to get exact distance between gears. It's not really supper complicated.
    move by= pitch diameter of first gear/2 + pitch diameter of second gear/2

    It would be great if Fusion could simulate the physics and calculate on its own the reaction that will happen when you rotate the gears, rather than preprogramming the reaction like a prebuilt animation

    The version of Fusion360 I have is obviously updated (2.0.17710), the As-Built Joint dialog looks completely different, I've chosen the rod and the gear but there is no Position, instead there is Origin Mode, Snap, Motion and Type ?

    Guys, I've been looking for a way to link motion between a shaft with a key and an impeller. And after watching this video, I think this is one way to do it by making a motion link between the shaft and the impeller. But can I do it by simply using a joint feature? I've tried that but failed, so I wonder if it is possible. Thanks.

    1. nothing happens when I hit the C++ Version of spur gear.
    2. If I hit the other option, i can make the gear but it comes out perpendicular to the grid versus parallel like yours
    any ideas?

    just so you know, the sketches that make up the gears already have the hole sketched out, so theres really no need to create another sketch on the top face of the gear

    If you look closely at the animation you will see that the large gear only turns 180 degrees and then springs back to zero. Place a datum mark on your large gear, and it will be ore evident that the simulation isn't quite right.

    Struggling with this since the latest update that introduced ground to parent and pin. Can only seem to get 1 gear to move regardless of what I do.

    • @davidfarris1332
      @davidfarris1332 Місяць тому

      Ended up needing to make the first pin first and use pin to get them both to spin. Guessing it had to do with the parent being the first gear.

    F360 needs to improve the kinematic velocity controls (ie. revolution per unit time, theta = r * omega) in auto-Animation mode. the spin is way too fast, even when adding a small/slow drive gear.

    Excellent video👍. Please can you do a video on gear ratios, i need to make 8:1 meshing gears, large gear 8 revolutions/ small gear 1 revolution, the small gear must have a diameter of more than 250mm. i am testing a magnetic generator - 220v. Will appreciate a PDF print file.

    Lame method. Need to use the pitch diameter tangent to the other pitch diameter for proper shaft spacing. Joint method OK though.
