    Columbiana Fairgrounds - Lisbon, OH
    October 5, 2019
    USA East (Full Pull Productions)
    The USA East was in Lisbon, Ohio at the Columbiana Fairgrounds for a Night Of Mayhem! Classes included: Big Rig Semis, Run What Ya Brung Modified Trucks, Super Stock/Pro Stock Tractors Classic Super Stock Tractors, and 3.0 4x4 Diesel Trucks. There were a LOT of pullers on hand for this event, the last of the USA East season. This was an awesome show, and there was tons of great action on track. A number of pullers had breakage in this video, including one truck that lost a hitch and came off the sled. Definitely would recommend seeing this event in person in the future! Enjoy the video.
    Classes: BIGRIGS (SixPac); RWYB; SS/PS; CSS; 3.0 sb

    when a diesel starts smoking white out the turbo is that an oil seal that goes ? oil in the turbo manifold etc ?

    • @docvolt5214
      @docvolt5214 4 роки тому +9

      It's actually the turbo getting to enough high boost to get to a stechiometric reaction with the diesel fuel. Black smoke is uncombusted diesel turning into soot, not enough boost = not enough oxygen. When the turbo is at the peak and by such you have enough oxygen to burn all the diesel you are injecting you stop getting smoke. The white remaining is probably caused by water/methanol injection, so it's litteral steam

    What rpm are these engines running

  • @Romans--bo7br
    @Romans--bo7br 4 роки тому +7

    Would be great if USA East and the NTPA would create different classes for the Super Semis instead of UNfairly lumping all engines into one class... completely ridiculous! If they would have classes (and correspondingly weighted sleds) for - 1) all 4 cycles Under 854 ci (ie: Mack inline 6 cyl, Detroit 60 series, 1674 Cats, etc,..... 2) Detroit 2 cycle - series 71 - 6 cyl - inline & V..... 3) Detroit 2 cycle - series 71 - 8V & 6-110..... 4) Detroit 2 cycle - Series 92 - 8V & Series 71 - 12V. The current 4 cycles should be broken down to.... 1) 855ci - 1000ci..... and the remaining "big inch" 1150ci KTA/QSX Cummins inline 6 cyl. Cummins should be run in their own class.
    In my opinion, I think it would bring in a lot more people into the Super-Semis and with the class "divisions" as such, would make it not only more affordable, but A LOT fairer between different truck/engine combinations with weights adjusted for each of these classes.
    You can't expect a Series 71 or 92 - 2 cycle Detroit (regardless of how many cylinders) with LESS than 2.5" of "Usable" stroke length (exhaust valve opening begins at only 88 degrees of crank rotation equaling approximately 2.44" of power stroke distance out of 5" total to 180 degrees from TDC and therefore less torque "Sustainability" due to far less piston speed and internal inertia per rpm) compared to ANY of the 855 ci and larger 6 cylinder 4 cycle Cats & Cummins, let alone the E-9 Mack V8's and certainly Not against the 1150ci KTA/QSX Series Cummins.
    IF.... the NTPA, USA East and other sanctioning bodies were to ever create an "outlaw" class of Super-Semi sled pullers, where the engine need not have been an offered option on the build sheet for whatever year and make of semi... I would use a certain 2 cycle that would be on an equal footing with the "big inch" 4 cycles that are currently running in terms of displacement and it would take Very Little to bring the power output up to their extremely modified power levels... especially in terms of torque.
    In all honesty, I sincerely doubt that any of us will ever see a "Fair" breakdown of the Super-Semi class as such, from either of the 2 major sled pulling Associations. That's just my humble opinion... based on my experience with a "certain" V12 Series 71 powered pull truck in past years.

      I agree with you 100%. It's getting to the point now that you almost have to run an 1150 if you want to win. Makes it boring in my opinion

      Pulling isn't about power or rather how much. You can have all of the power in the world and if your gear ratios are not right you'll struggle to pull a greasy string out of a cat's ass. It's about choosing the correct gear ratios. Also, there's no such thing as "fair". If everything was fair there would be no incentive to improve oneself. Like the rest of the "sporting" world, no improvement, just minor changes. Like NASCAR for example, all of the changes to make racing fair and "safe" took all of the fun out of watching a race. Especially since Bubbles Wallace turned out to be a fucking Commie Kapernick.

    • @ChucksPullingVideos

      No. That was somebody else. I always have a discussion with officials before each pull to let them know where I'll be, and we work out a safe enough distance based on their recommendations. At this particular show, there were a lot of people that kept getting too close however, and eventually, us media personnel were moved to the other side of the track as a result of that.

    Doesn't seem like it did much good for Dunn to change out the "little" (852ci) 2 cycle Detroit for that 6 cyl. 893ci Cat.... he (or, his daughter ?) didn't pull any further here than John did at many pulls with the 12... but then again, John had back issue's and wasn't running the Butterfly as hard as he used to years ago and couldn't risk getting slammed by the sled in a really hard pull if something broke.

      Sled settings and weight amounts are changed for each class. Stock trucks don't pull much weight and the sled is set looser. If they used those settings for the high HP stuff, they'd run through walls way off the track lol.
