      @@WarmBusch that's awsome man I have loaded lots of flat beds up with fabricated steel beams and custom made handrails built in a fab shop I'm over for the metal beam structures and at forms for plants and factories and have only met one driver who loaded the whole truck by himself with one helper and did it very slowly but damn it looked perfect stacking all those awkward beams that has plate welded in center and ends so it cam be bolted and it's like tetrus when he got done I was impressed I guess it's like a art form for yall like when I was a welder and fabricator on my tools I made sure every weld and everything I did looked like a machine did it perfectly and every thing I welded on something every measurement was exact to the blue prints not even a thousandth off dead perfect got to a point where the QaQC guy just passed my work with out checking it cuse he knew if I did it it was beyond perfect

      Just remember it's a carbon-based world with carbon-based life-forms you end carbon you end life.
      And I don't know where you stand on electric, but it's easy to see politicians and corporations are looking to make a buck. If not they would already have wires running down the center lanes of our interstates and freeways transmitting electricity wirelessly to an electric motor (every vehicle assigned a frequency) saving on the massive batteries needed for any range. (You would only need a small one for surface streets.) Japan has been doing this in certain areas for close to two decades. But instead their Investments are in lithium , and or Samarium and Neodymium. The two Rare Earth elements needed for the magnets. All three of these are mined in open-pit mines just like copper. And there production process is completely toxic. And since they're rare are unsustainable. Must be the reason these same individuals behind closed doors insist on a 90% population reduction. They say behind closed doors but they actually publish videos of what they say and do. I only wish they'd volunteer to be the first to go.
      I'm old despite what they teach the smog and pollution levels in the 60''s, early 70's where several times higher than they are today despite a billion more vehicles on the road.

I'm fairly sure they probably break some cross members though. And really, IDK but they probably build special plates for this. @@majestical5331 Grade 8 bolts are made of material with a 150,000 psi rating. Given a 2" diameter pin, the area = 3.14". Multiply that by 150,000 psi and you get 471,000 pounds. Note that this is tensile strength (stretching bolt along it's length). Shear strength is typically calculated at 60% of tensile so, you're looking at roughly 282,600 pounds. Otherwise known as a whole helluva lot. My question is, how much do those trailers weigh, loaded and ready to race?

    • @majestical5331
      @majestical5331 3 роки тому +3

      @@panchorodriguez7246 I had seen different rating on the bolts too. Cad plated versus black oxide. The pins are heat treated too possibly so that makes them even harder. From what I gathered the trailers were 140K, 160K and 200K pounds but don't quote me. The pins have maybe 4" to 5" of surface area between the 5th wheel and the frame mount. So you'd be trying to pull at least a 2" section from the center of the pin. Similarly, a 793 Cat haul truck has the bed tilt pins that are like 6" to 7" in diameter, and they weigh.. well, let's just say mother in law's arm weight. The bed weighs from 49 to 52+ tons depending on how much wear plate and repairs they have, and they haul around 150 tons of material. Although I referenced the pins, I don't think that's even a thought that one would fail.
