I lived in Buenos Aires Argentina for nearly 10 years and for my lifestyle I needed 1500-2000 US dollars per month. It allowed me to live in a great apartment in a fantastic neighborhood eat very well and travel thru out Argentina 🇦🇷 😋. This is just for the lifestyle that I enjoy you can spend a lot less or a lot more it all depends on your personal preferences. But Argentina and the Argentine people are awesome 👌 👏 👍.
Wow, in future I would love to interview you and get more of a insight on your lifestyle living in Argentina, I had a great time down there with a budget of just 1000 but 2000👀 I can imagine you were living very well lol
2000 US dollars per month is huge in Argentina, I get by perfectly fine with 1000 US dollars or less 500 is sometimes enough
@santiago sancho yes I agree but for the lifestyle that I enjoy the 1500 to 2000 dollars US is more than enough to pay for my lifestyle. Am renting a one bedroom apartment in San Telmo fully furnished and all expenses paid for 600 dollars US per month I cook many of my meals and I can afford to travel to different parts of Argentina like Mendoza or Cordoba.Yes I agree that there are many options in Argentina it depends on your preference. It is impossible to live this type of lifestyle in any urban areas of the United States I live in, Chicago and this won't even cover most of the rents in Chicago.
@@markrush2319 Truthfully I would love to live in Argentina with a 2000 budget, that is a very relaxed lifestyle
@Paint Your Lifestyle yes Buenos Aires is a truly beautiful international city, the people are awesome and the country is so large and diverse you will never get bored and unusual for South America Buenos Aires has all four seasons and you don't have to worry about natural disasters such as hurricanes, forest fires or earthquakes.
Rad work as always! I'm hyped to go next month....
thanks for watching! i am excited for you trip!
Love the format of the video and took some notes on how you categorize your expenses. I will do the same. Awesome video
wow thats whats up! Im glad you picked up how I broke down my expenses, the app BDGT really does wonders, try it out on your next trip and see how you like it.

Thanks so much for watching !
Great video Sir ❤
So nice of you
Amazing Video! Buenos Aires seems to be a really cool City.
It was! what really made it so much more enjoyable was how much spending power I had, unmatched
Imagine being an argentinean and trying to live with the peso, riding the waves of inflation. Very frustrating.
No I get it, but i'm also not the reason for the economy inflating
@@genaroguerrero9228put simply, a dollar in one country and a dollar in another country are two different things
Well done. Thoroughly documented, researched and professionally presented and quite inspiring. I just hope that Argentina doesn't become californicated. Many thanks for this amazing video.
Many thanks!
Great video! Visa pays the blue dollar rate which is twice as many pesos to the US$ as the red or official rate. Mastercard doesn't. We just finished with my two-week holiday in Argentina: BA, Ushuaia, El Calafate, and back to BA. We were informed by our tour guide for the Recoleta Cemetary that Visa pays the blue dollar rate. We had to pay by card to enter the Recoleta Cemetary as they don't accept cash. I used my UK Visa card and discovered that I was only charged GBP 4.74 entrance fee to the Recoleta Cemetery. I then started to use my Visa card and discovered that I was getting an exchange rate of AR$340 to 1 US$. Which is not too different from the current blue rate of AR$380 to 1 US$. We're vegans and found lots of vegan restaurants and most other restaurants have at least a vegetarian option. We did not starve during our Argentine holiday!
Headed to Buenos Aires for a week in May! Looking forward to it!
You are going to enjoy it! don't be afraid to spend money, it goes FAR

@@Paintyourlifestyle bro please I have a question, I will be very happy if you reply back.
I want to travel the world 🌎 to see life outside my comfort zone, but I have a problem. Suerte.
Can you elaborate on why you feel it’s unsustainable? I hear people can get by with 800/Mon how would it not be a possibility to live off a budget of 1000-1200/Mon?

04:48 - room $175 per month or per 3 months?
90 days for $175 but thats homies discount lol
Was in Argentina for 39 days:
Pros:
-Nice honest for the most part people
-infrastructure is old but pretty impressive overall - European vibe
-very secure as a whole
Cons:
-currency exchange and economic political instability-
-climate of people is not so happy due to political and economic uncertainty
-food quality control and quality was questionable unless you go to higher end places, including peoples hygiene.
They don’t believe in soap and sanitizer in public places and they smoke like chimneys. I got sick while I was there.
Dang man... how do u fly there for $400?
So let’s say living in San Telmo, in BA…
Could a retired couple live comfortably for say $2000/months ?
Yes easily but dont be afraid to add a little more money, you want to be as comfortable as possible.
@@Paintyourlifestyle
We spent a year in Nicaragua and now spending a year in Guatemala…both places we have lived comfy spending about $1100/month without budgeting at all. We don’t expect to live in BA for that but we hope we can stay around $2000-$2300. We don’t typically spend a lot.
Thx for the video !
@@therehastobesomethingmoore oh wow nice! I’ve spent some time in both I would still choose Argentina lol outside of Buenos Aires, places like Cordoba and Mendoza are very nice for those monthly budgets!
idk the average income, but the minimum is around 175 dollars. I earn 87 per month and my father makes around 500. A price of today, 45k pesos are 121 dollars aprox. Argentina is only cheap for turists.

Hey the average income is not that one. I think the average might be around 500-600 usd a month. 45.000 I think you are barely above indigency for pur statistics, so clearly is not
hey thanks so much for reaching out, I checked twice and got the same number you did but my conversion isn't the same how are you getting 45.000 Pesos to 400 USD?
