I'm glad that you guys have made it back out on to the water and that Ty's back is better.... I'm in recovery from a 360 fusion on L4-L5, L5-S, so I know how much back pain can take you away from the things you want to do
Way to go you two. We loved it. Brings back memories of when you two started a bit ago. Pam is now going to make some salsa verde out of toma teeos.... Ausie style! Be well and keep sharing.
I’m so glad to see you guys out making videos I can remember 4 years ago when you broke your bowsprit. I’ve always enjoyed your channel it’s one of the best but this one’s too short we need more video longer videos. or two videos a week no one else is doing that.
Have been watching since the very first episode from my personal account. We are in Astoria Oregon working and then heading to the puget sound in the spring before heading to Ventura in the fall! Glad to see your guys videos and can’t wait to see where you guys go next!
I used to boil octopus until it was tender... Longer than a few minutes. Might apply to snails. Btw: did you digest then well? And I'm wondering about the pollution factor, where/when to gather. I have to swear off octopus after learning more about how incredible they are. Oops just ate a tin of them soaked in sriracha...
Yes, you may have to be careful of red tides, like with other shellfish. As far as the cooking, once we had service to look it up I found they should only be very lightly cooked - similar to abalone. I’ve also heard that octopus takes a very long time to cook and tenderize, but never done that one myself!
We do deflate them for any longer (more than 1 overnight) passages, or anytime rough weather is expected. But if conditions are calm and the sails aren’t too long, much easier to leave inflated 👍🏻
Yes back when I was following you everyday and I noticed that you were anchored in extremely shallow water because the maps I was looking at were so out of date Yes I remember it exactly
Yes more sailing, Living through you guys until COVID is under control
Glad to see you both back in your element. Keep the videos coming, always enjoy watching them. Be safe.
Thank you for the vicarious trip to the islands. So happy for you and your start of a new adventure.

Making me feel all warm and fuzzy. Can't wait to get back on my boat. She's a 1989 Beneteau First 35s5. Fast but a little cramped.
Ty. Your face at the thought of those snails.. and your brave too commenting on Hillary's cooking of them........ Big grovel required!!!!!!!!!!!
Those sea caves would be awesome to check out!
Yes, we would have loved to spend some time if we didn’t have such a long passage to San Miguel... another time!

Oh, Astoria is a lovely place, and lots of great cruising to check in Puget Sound! Have fun!
Sailing off anchor; 👍🏼
It’s the best!!!
Great style, very informative.
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed!
Anything in butter and garlic is got to be good
Millenium Falcon had a local show them how to cook those snails. Check out their video.
I would have some sandworms bottom fishing for flounder in that harbor.
Good to see you back on the water where you guys are at home. Where are you headed to when you get to Mexico?
Still trying to decide - need to haul out and do the bottom.
Not enough wind, or too much wind -the two winds us cruisers get.
Sooo true, and always not quite in the right direction, right?
Often right on the nose or dead astern with confused seas.

Just out of curiosity...if Those paddleboards are inflatable, why don’t you deflate them During passages instead of hanging them on the lifelines?

Lol guys
escargot is from garden snails as far as I know not sea snails.
We learned the these particular snails, called Wavy Turban Snail, (when cooked correctly) are known as “wavalone” because they taste very similar!
did she get those sea snails by the seashore?
What month was this filmed in? It's good to know the season for context.
This was late-fall. If you scroll down to the very bottom of the video description, we always including a filming date for each video 😉👍
:)
Nice episode. What was the water temperature?
Didn’t actually bring our dive computer, which shows temp, but I think mid-to high-50s. Brrrr!!!
Here first 😁
