picking up a few of these from Kegland tomorrow. Cheers for the tip!
this is a great tip theres nothing worse when transfering from a kegmenter and its starts sucking air and you have to shake it and stir up all the crap you dropped in the cold crash!
Exactly! Cheers mate!
Yes! Exactly same problem, and i got the solution with that video. I have ordered some from kegland but i live in the other side of our planet, so i have to wait about a month or longer.
I have a few of those styles of floating dip tubes. Never thought about using a stir bar to weigh the dip tube down (have a few extra of those too). Very slick idea that I'm definitely going to try! Thanks.
This is a really good tip, I had a massive s#!t fight with a recent cider because the dip tube wasn't completely submerged, absolute nightmare
Thanks Gash! I've just been using a Fermenter King Chubby recently and realize now that the pickup tube is too long and too light.
Been pulling up gas instead of beer a lot of the time. I'll have to fix it before the next brew. Cheers!
Hopefully you should be able to sort that out mate!
Nice
Thanks very much for your tips, I will cut some off the length of the tube, 👍🍻 cheers
No problem 👍
Yeah, that's definitely going to help
Cheers. I've been thinking about adding a stainless nut to my silicone tubing as I'm drawing a bit of gas through my party tap when serving from my FZ.
It never occurred to me that I could just add it into the filter basket instead. I have a couple of spare stir bars so will give that a go instead.
Go for it! Cheers!
Yeah, that'll definitely help
I’ve removed the float ball completely and just use the filter. I get every drop of beer out of the fermenter. Yes, a bit more yeast makes it into the keg but finings take care of that. Plus, I get a nice compact yeast cake to harvest from. 😊
I'm a heavy dry hopper, and I always want to leave stuff behind, I do it the kettle and the fermenter, leave the junk behind, I brew 22L to keg 18L for this purpose. My clean yeast is already harvested before I dry hop. Cheers!
Great tip and super timely. my last two transfers have been absolute nightmares with the pickup cage somehow sitting at surface level and drawing in mostly gas. I was trying to figure out what would be a good nut to use, but the stir bar looks like a way better alternative for all the reasons you listed.
It should work out fine for you, cheers!
