This was an insightful (yet succinct) talk on the topic. Thank you for doing this!
The personality testing and typing systems are great ways of expanding on the self-discovery and self-growth journey (if you allow it).
However, I have noticed that it can easily become an all consuming, downward-spiralling rabbit-hole trip for those who are in crisis (or very ignorant about their truer way of living or thinking), at the point of doing that type of research as they'll struggle to make heads or tails of what they're reading and its applicability into their lives.
Finally, the personality systems require a very, _very_ (if I haven't emphasised that enough), very close reading of the terminology and personality connections created to be able to interpret them accurately and successfully.
Most people will never get there, because of the commitment it takes to sit down, read and assess the results of the test. Usually people barely read the instructions on how to approach such a test, and towards the end, they fail to read how to interpret the test. They just want the letters at the end of the test.
People hate to hear this, but Myer-Briggs (ie 16 personality types) is a 'guesstimate' for starters. You need to expand, filter out and refine this through other systems that build on that.
