Great video. On tge part how to deal with people i would say fiction books in general. There are so many studies that is almost a fact, creading fiction increase our empathy. And empathy, instintivly will teach how to deal with people.
It seems like an excellent recommendation. I spent 20 years devouring self-help books and they are very entertaining but I am aware of how harmful and misleading they can be.
Serious comment and question: you recommend a book on good thinking (logic), but on your fifth recommendation you appeal to the celebrities of Robbins and Chopra, both of who are people who rely on illogical, un-scientific, even anti-scientific thinking? How do reconcile this? Thank you in advance
This is a great question! I am not a big fan of what they teach either, although many of their ideas have a foundation in scientific findings (i.e., we can trace the simplistic idea of "believe in yourself, and you'll succeed" to the well-demonstrated concept of self-efficacy in social cognitive theory). So actually, if I were to elaborate on that point I made in the video about Psychocybernetics, I believe this book itself to have many sound and legitimately useful claims, but much of what has come after it that expounds upon it has distorted much of it. I hope that helps!
Oh actually, I stand corrected - they're not in the description. I'll get to changing that. In the meantime, each timestamp is associated with each book.
05:40 personality test is also bs but i think you are talking along the lines of introspection , empathy( getting in others prospective or shoe ) , game theory ( here in this context individualistic approach to external stimuli or subject or object to acclaimed internalised goals or prospects) , am i wrong here if so how and why , please also add ( plus english is my 3rd language so sorry if any mistakes and do point them out as it lead to improvement )
Hey great thoughts here! And sure! Change "prospective" to "perspective". As for personality tests, in practice, it is extraordinarily difficult to categorize personalities in a rigid way. However, the categories within the OCEAN assessment, specifically, have some usefulness for such things as (as you mentioned) understanding someone else's perspective and the way they receive communication the best. Overall, it's important to understand that many of these social models are tools that help us to a certain extent - but at the end of the day, we have to make sure we stay grounded and humanize the people we're interacting with.
@@stephenpetro411 ok so it just just here (big 5 test) as mental model for reducing human interaction complexity as we are limiting the variable to 4 rather than 20 or more factors while considering and respecting other people's personality . Btw ( for 1st categories i think how to read a book , mindmap , make it stick are great for learning how to learn ) once again thanks for the video
You can look up a lot of books on UA-cam and fix it where it reads the captions and that will help you learn how to read and write English better. They have free summaries too that cover them and listen to them while you are doing other tasks. My daughter swears that covid made her learn how to read and write better by having to text and answer her friends more. Also putting the captions on in English when you watch anything may help you too. She said it did and finding books also that made her want to read.l can say she went from a remedial reader to the highest in her class by daily reading and the teacher used her as this example.
Ialso had similar fears when I encouraged myself to read biographies. I thought, "I won’t be able to understand English. English is quite hard. It’s not my language, so learning it will be difficult." This was how I felt before I started reading. Then, I purchased Think and Grow Rich. I believed I could manage English well enough. When I began reading, I realized I could read it, but not very clearly. I struggled with many words and the complex sentence structures. For example, we usually learn that the third form of a verb is used with "have" and "had," but in this book, I found many sentences where the third form was combined with "is," "am," or "are." In grammar, we’re taught that "is," "am," and "are" are used with continuous verbs ending in "-ing." This added to the complexity. To overcome this, I used a translator. I translated each sentence, understood it, and read it again. I spent 15 minutes every morning doing this, and I began to enjoy reading in English. This book became a significant milestone for me-it’s one of the best books I’ve read in my life and my first serious read in English. My suggestion is: don’t be afraid. Go ahead, purchase a book, and start reading. Focus on understanding the structure and meaning of words. You don’t need to memorize everything. When you encounter words repeatedly, their meanings will automatically stick in your mind. Use Google Translate to help with this method. I wish you the best of luck. Thank you for reading my comment!
I’m a first grade teacher with a bachelors in biology and some knowledge in philosophy, I wish the education system would take critical thinking seriously. Kids are ready for it it’s the adults that are not.

Yeah, I definitely hear you. And you're definitely right! It seems that the issue you're getting at here is that there are lots of people with no real experience or expertise who essentially "fake it" and therefore sell a course of no real value. That being said I can see the justification for selling a course if it has real value and it took time for the creator to develop it and put high value into it. For instance, having been in the test-prep industry for a while, it's certainly true tutors could impart their knowledge for free, but then that certainly wouldn't be fair to the tutors. UA-cam is full of free information (some great, and some awful). The real value of a course, as I see it, lies in the level of individualization you'll get, which is impossible to impart in a video.

If I understand what you mean here, then you are quite welcome! So many times, we're reading personal growth books randomly or simply ineffectively, whereas we can truly improve our efficiency by tackling certain fundamentals first.
This video is simply a list of book recommendations based on the creator's personal opinion about why these books are valuable. One of the books mentioned isn’t something I would ever need or want to read personally. However, the very first book on the list seems interesting to me.
@@giorgiodechambre6798 Seems like any recommendation is a personal opinion, right? And for sure, not every book is for everyone. There are definitely certain books that I would book on the very bottom of my list that would be priority reads for someone else. And I'm glad the first one seems interesting to you - it's very helpful!
@stephenpetro411 Thanks for pointing out the obvious. It’s just that the title of the video gave off a different impression and thought process that intrigued me. I expected it to be more like the first book, with reasons why it should be read before any others, presented in a step-back, big-picture approach. 😜
@@giorgiodechambre6798 It's all good! That book is definitely worth the read - I made this video several months ago. There's a lot more value in some of my more recent videos.

Amazing video sir, I'll definitely be sharing your information with my circle and looking into these texts that I'd once looked over. Also, thank you for also explaining the importance of the news. I used to always believe it to be nothing but propaganda and negativity, but there's far more to it than that, and I'm very glad you defined this. Very sound advice in all, subscribed!
I appreciate it - and more to come! With respect to the news, yes absolutely it's all about being an active learner and actively seeking out the information we want to stay up-to-date about instead of simply taking on a passive role with respect to news consumption.

Books by Joseph Murphy and the Secret of the Ages by Robrt Collier are prime reading. Psychology is less of a tool than philosophy.

Is your compensation enhanced when a viewer watches until the end?
Hmm interesting question: not directly. Maybe indirectly, you could say.

I want to order.. but i am very weak in understanding english books..😢
@@ShibilaN-iu6jk It's ok! Start with simpler books in that case, and work your way up!
Would you recommend reading 'The subtle art of not giving f**ck'

Tbh, you read Psycho-Cybernetics and a lot of the modern self-help books feel like a rebranding/repackaging of it.
