    You are the first person to talk about the flimsy side walls of the trailer. And how to fix that problem. Thank you!

    Can’t tell you how many times I’ve referenced this video. He reminds me of a stellar man that I learned Construction from. He even uses a lot of the same terminology. Thank you for the simple, straightforward explanation and well thought out design.

    I don’t normally comment on UA-cam videos, but this is so practical. I can tell you’re one hell of a tradesman.

    I ripped 3/4 wide about halfway deep on a 2x4 and placed that on the edge flush with my shelf. Then slipped a 6 inch 3/4 board into the "gap" that I made and it held everything in. I just pulled it out to get whatever I wanted. Great video. I painted my walls white to brighten it up some.

    I did like the modularity of some of the "extravagant" ones. I have built a couple job trailers and never had luck making random sized cubbies and having them work to my liking down the road. I always wished they were easy to resize like the Paulk system. More work out of the gate but seems worthy of the effort when I look back at what we did. They were real similar to this build

    Nice video! I'm a handyman and I purchased a Pace trailer and I can tell you that you're spot on about their quality. It's bad. My next trailer will not be a Pace. Nice job on the shelves and walls. I didn't cover my walls with ply like you did but I had a tough time making sure my shelves were anchored properly with that junk wall board they use. I was worried about adding too much weight when I did it but after seeing how yours came out I may do it that way on my next one. Job well done! thanks for sharing

    I only wish you had given us a better shot of your view, OH MY it looks fantastic toward the mountains. Oh yea, the shelves look great. When we customized the shelving too much it becomes unusable as new tools or new demands on the trailer don't fit. Looks great!

      Not really. I'm still using it as designed. As long as you keep things tidy before hitting the road I've never really had too many issues with things falling off the shelves. But, some type of betting or shelf covers would be helpful.
      Thanks for the nice response

    what kind of screws did you use, length and did you pre drill?

    • @BrigT262
      @BrigT262  6 років тому

      james sherratt
      I used 1 1/4" panel screws...like flange bolts but screws with a built in washer. And yes I did pre drill everything.

  • @yahdy7551
    @yahdy7551 10 років тому

    1) What was that 'c' word you used to attach the 2x4 on the flat in the back?
    2) How did you attach the 1/2" ply wood to the sides?

    • @BrigT262
      @BrigT262  10 років тому +1

      The C word I used was coped. Scribed a 2x4 with a compass tool so the front of the 2x4 followed the contour of the radius trailer wall. The back of the 2x4 was straight to allow a platform to mount the new 1/2" panel for the cord / hose racks.
      I used const adh. and 1 1/4" self tapping panel screws form Lowes to mount the new 1/2 CDX side paneling over the 1/4" paneling but fastened through to the trailer frame rails. The entire project was fastened and reinforced with self tapping screws,,(all pre drilled holes throughout) , and const adhesive so it would all stay tight through the years.
      Hope all that made sense
