Amazing video! Just showed my bosses on how to build a shelf in a trailer for our new "Forestry & Conservation" trailer for my job. We will get into doing this very soon! Thanks!
Sweet setup & great job explaining everything!
Just lay plywood on top of trailer with 2 ft sticking off front. Take sharpie and trace trailer from underneath. Then cut and instal
Wow, I am falling in love with the e track stuff! Great video--thank you!
Thank you so much for posting! I've watched TOO many conversion videos, with none of them being right fit for what I'm doing (simple camping trailer). Wanted shelves in front for storage and this turned out FANTASTIC! Love the simplicity and sturdiness (grandson can actually use as bunk bed) and just pop out when need the full trailer for other uses. Thanks again!
Awesome video thank you. I'm about to buy my own trailer and was wondering how I was going to install some shelves. I'm not overly handy, but due to this video I can totally pull this off on my own!!!! thank you!
It’s great to see these videos. I’ve used ETrac for years on open trailers to te down equipment but I’ve never seen the 2x4 mounts sold.
Thanks for the info
Thank you for loading this video! Just bought my first trailer and this old grandma is about to put in some shelves thanks to the simple awesome video
liked the way you build the shelves with the tracks gave me a good ideal for my 6x10 build out
Thank you for sharing this project with us. I've a small trailer which I use to haul my DJ equipment and it is now pretty horizontally but not using any of the vertical space. Putting some shelves will help me to take advantage of the vertical space.
Great idea. I use my cargo trailer for flea markets. I haul a lot of tubs and boxes so I may use this idea.
Amazing! This is exactly what I needed to see, very helpful. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing I already have my enclosure Trailer but I was looking for ideas to how to build my shelfs and this is the right video Thanks again
On the lip of the shelf against the wall I recommend some pipe insulation... it looks clean and stops stuff from rolling off the front and dropping down or getting stuck between the front of the shelf and the trailer wall..... It also hides any bad cuts.... and it looks decent.
I’ve been thinking about how I wanted to. Do this for my trailer and this is the best way I’ve seen. Thanks this is exactly what I’m going to do!!
Dudeeee! I always had faith these e-tracks existed. Thank you so much for the vid. I did not want to build the entire shelfs out of 2x4s. Great vid 👏👏
Pipiripao Solis that’s awesome man. Glad it helped you out!!
I have an enclosed trailer on order and this is a great way to add storage/workspace in the front of the trailer. Looks great!
West Texas Raider thanks man! Glad it could help!
This is many years later but id like to add. I put the plywood under the 2x4s. Then added my tools, then put divider / support cross braces to keep tools where i wanted them . The decking underneath you have short walls to keep everything from jumping off. That worked for me.
Cool, found this video after I have already installed mine. Mine is similar but I used single etrack. Thought I'd doing vertical etrack for adjustable shelves but did not need adjustable in my situation...I just needed one shelf at the perfect height. Also, the teks 1 1/4 inch long and #14 diameter self tapping are a better option
Just bought my trailer and I am going to build the shelves in it today as you showed. Thank you!
Cynthia Sandor that’s awesome. Glad it could help!! Let’s see some pics when your done! Post a couple here.
Great idea using the wooden beams on the e-tracks.. We just bought a cargo van and it came with one steel beam, but using wooden beams is a much better idea. Thanks.
Thank you so much I was so debating on which way to go with this perfect solution
I’m definitely gonna go that route. Thank you!
Awesome and easy! Thanks for the info
I used that same type of shelf in my enclosed trailer for years and it is very easy to setup.
I like the shelf. I am going to follow your lead and do this myself.
Dude that is the best set up I have seen that will work for my new build out, just picked up 12x6 always a work in progress, but best idea I have seen, and I have looked at every bodies , like the quick install and removal if need be, never have enough e track, again great idea , thanks,
jackrichardharman dee that’s awesome man! Glad you stumbled across it and that it was helpful to ya.
Awesome storage option. I plan to do something similar as I set up my new lawn care business. I need something versatile like this due to the ever changing nature of the business. I have already used my trailer for leaf cleanup, Christmas lights, sprinkler work, etc...
Thrifty Garage thank you. That’s awesome. Making great use of your equipment, any way you can, is just great!
I love E-track! Have all over my walls and floors if my Stallion trailer for shelves, motor cycles, etc....
Awesome. Definitely using this method!
Video saved to my reminder list... Well done man
THANK YOU!!! Been racking my brain for a idea! This solved it!
Great job brother!!!!🤙🏼💪🏼
Very nice . I think I’ll go to Lowe’s an buy some metal baskets and screw them down so nothing will bounce out!
Well done!!!
Great job brother!!
Thanks for the tips!
Donald Ellicks thank you. And you’re welcome!
Getting a cargo trailer and want to have it multifunctional so I don't want to have any permanent build out. This is a genius idea to be able to have a bed off the floor that would be easily removable to use the trailer as a utility trailer when not camping
If you install vertical E Track instead of horizontal you can put the shelves at whatever height you want. Food for thought.
Early Greta Van Fleet you’re correct. However, I did it this way for two reasons. 1. It was more cost effective to purchase only 2 pieces of Etrack thank 4. And 2. I do not need to move my shelves up or down. Another reason is that the location of my front studs wouldn’t have allowed the etrack to be secured vertically because of the width of the etrack. If I did it vertically, I would have had to put the first vertical etrack on the second stud back (16” away from the front of the trailer) and that wouldn’t have worked. But thanks for the comment. You’re like the third person that mentioned it. Lol.
Great video! Thank you
You are a genius bro! Thank you
Your awesome broski. Thank you.
Great idea. Thank you for the video.
Pretty Slick Versatile E-Track Thanks for Sharing
Bob Calgary Canada thank you. Yes it is very versatile!! We love it.
Wow never thought about doing that that's awesome good work
Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video....we thought it would be a good idea for others looking to build shelves in their trailers as well.
Great job and easy thank you for the video very helpful 👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you liked it and that it was helpful! Thats why I make these vids! Take care.
Wow, great idea . Thanks
Nice job easy to follow, THANKS!
Mike G absolutely. Glad it helped.
excellent video is what I was looking for thank you for the idea👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
DJSHY Millan thank you! I appreciate it. Glad it helped!
Good job!!
Great idea! i’ve been looking for an easy shelving system for cargo trailer. Thank you for sharing!
Rock Stone absolutely! Glad you like it!
Laying in bed one night going over what I might do for my cargo RV trailer the E-track idea hit me. Left a bruise. But once I recovered I started seeing how well this approach would work for a dynamic style layout. Meaning I can rearrange my trailer or even take everything out. I am going to use complete units like 3 or 4 discarded cabinets and a few filing cabinets I have currently. seeing your video confirmed that this is doable.
Heck yea, its doable! Thats awesome man! Good for you. Glad this video could help! I'd be interested in seeing pics of your completed project!
Northern Tools always had tons of these E-track units of various sizes and those brackets, as well. If you have a flatbed trailer with no ramp on it, you can put in an E-track on each side with a bracket as you have on each end. Slip in a 2X6 to length for the width of the trailer and you will not have any issues with your cargo sliding off the back end of the trailer. Nice video.
Uhaul has 2ft lengths.
Excellent ! Wish this was up a few weeks earlier just put shelf in the older way.
trench311 Yeah man, this was such an easy install. Very quick and convenient. It’s also nice because I can take the shelves out in a matter of minutes if I ever need to and then put them back in.
Great idea thanks for sharing
Cool idea, will be doing that to my trailer, thanks
Great video.
LIFE SAVER!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks that is perfect!
Nice job
When buying E track, check around and find a truck body supplier and you can buy E track in ten foot lengths for the same price you pay for short pieces everywhere else. If you can't find a truck body supplier, ask some people that work on semi trucks and they should know where you can buy it. Great trailer!
Awesome. That’s some great info. Wow, never thought of that. Appreciate the tip!
Great video!!! I was going to just put 2x4 all around but I like this way better
Miguel Rico Awesome. Glad this video helped change your mind.
Great idea, thank you.
This is awesome great job. Looks like it could be used as a bed too
Thank you. And yes you absolutely can use them as a bed too! I weigh 340 pounds and it holds me just fine.
I really like this idea & plan on using the idea in my new trailer. Not real sure about how you described cutting the front piece up against the wall can you elaborate a bit !!! Excellent Video !!
This is awesome! Thank you
Into The Mystery ⓭ you're welcome!
Thank you for sharing
Thank you, great video!
Awesome! Glad you liked it! Hope it helped!
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
Monroe Jackson thank you. I appreciate it.
Great! TY. Just what I need to know👍
I have done similar, only mine's for a bed, i have a 24' haulmark and i bought 4-10' pieces of e-track, i slid a sheet metal behind where they butt and welded them together for extra strength so 20' on each side except for the side door of course, self tappers every 16" strong as f
This is the best!!
love it!
Dope video. Thank you.
great job
This video was rough to watch lmao...but very very beneficial. I felt good watching. Please keep posting. 👌🏼
Nice! Wondering: It's "only" as strong as those (4) 1", 10 gauge, self-tapping screws(on each e-track) going into the aluminum studs. Is that pretty strong? Can thet hold a lot of weight? Is the aluminum pretty thick/strong? Can only put those in every 16"... Wondering how to increase the weight bearing strength...like, to use a sleeping bed would be cool...or hold a generator, or something. Anyhooo, great vid and looks rad!
Thanks bra. Very helpful
Good dang job bud
THank you for the info!
webmstir Glad I could help.
Nice!!!!
Thank you
Great video man those views tho!!!
very well ....thanks
Very helpful - thank you for posting! New sub.
Very good video. Getting my enclosed trailer in 3 days. Oh yah, a dad's job is never done. Father of 2 here.
KLH1966 awesome. Send a pic of your finished product when you're done. Would love to see it. Text pics the number on my truck!!
Good job, I. Doing the same thing but on a V-nose trailer.
Awesome. glad this video could help you out. Please be sure to SUB and thanks for the comment.
Good video
awesome
thank you for making this video...…
Mark David Trammell my pleasure!!
They make vertical e track which would make more sense for the shelving. That way you could adjust the height of each shelf as needed.
Dave Bach yes they do...however, I opted to go with this configuration for two reasons, 1. The vertical Etrack was more expensive, and 2. I do not need to adjust the height of the shelves. I have no need to move them up or down for how I use my trailer. But you are correct that vertical Etrack does allow you to adjust the height of your shelves if that is something that you need to do.
While this looks cleaner, it's cheaper to just build out of wood.
Now if you want to be able to remove, then yes, e track
Bro, u just saved me BIG TIME🤦🏽♂️🙌🏾✌🏾
Mauryce Fitz glad to hear it bro!!!
Me too, just ordered this.!!!!
Steve Day That’s awesome! This is exactly why I post videos, to help people! Glad it helped you.
Yep I'm copying the heck out of this. LOL thanks for sharing
Justin's Lawn Care that’s awesome man!!! That’s why I made the video...so it could help someone else out there. Glad to hear it did. Post a video or pics when your done. I’d like to see how it turns out for ya!
I’ve seen the hardware but haven’t seen it put together.
Curious if you ran the track vertical, then could your shelves be adjustable?
Good Idea
Well Thank you!
GOLDEN ! ! ! :)
GD Marketing thank you!
I have a question, when one is towing trailer with stuff on the shelves How do you keep everything from falling off the shelves?
Can the tracks on each side be mounted vertically, so that you can adjust the shelving to be higher or lower?
They also make vertical e-track that you can install on the studs 16 or 32 inches apart and then make shelves that are completely adjustable vertically. Just a tip. That's how I've done the shelves in my trailer.
FlyingMAir You can do that for sure. I just never would need to adjust the height for the way I use the shelves. But yes, you could easily run the etrac vertically. You’d just need to get different etrac brackets to hold the 2x4 supports.
@@HorizonLMG The same 2x4 brackets work on the vertical e-track. The E-track is a DIFFERENT product where the slats run vertically. Here's a link to what I bought on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J4IWTFW/ In general, I install e-track for ultimate flexibility -- that means changing how I use the space I have whenever I need to.
@@HorizonLMG No you don't. You use the same brackets whether the e tract is vertical or horizontal.
Thx for the vid,!
CHRIS TTRAM you're welcome!! Thanks for the comment. Be sure to subscribe!
Do you do the hole enclosure trailer I will love to take a look
