Is there such a thing as too many notebooks? NEVER! Although keeping things organized and remembering which one is for what, having the one available at the time and place you want to use it for, etc. Those are some things I would love your opinions on. I tend to gravitate toward ring bound notebooks for their versatility but I'm thinking I may switch to a bound book for journaling, since that shouldn't need pages to be moved around. I also really like your post-it note system for organizing ideas within a notebook, since it provides flexibility to move things around. Good luck on the move!

The best part about the pocket notebook is that it can in fact live in your pocket, so there's no excuses not to have one on you!
Ringbound notebooks can be a requirement if your system relies on you moving things after the note-taking fact. I don't need that for my own method so the bound notebooks work fine. As you say, something like journaling can usually do well in a bound notebook.
      Thanks as always for watching!

Now that I've actually watched the video:
I absolutely love that access to stationery is something you've considered about your move.
Is there a particular reason you've moved country so many times?

Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of the Konmari organizing method where she says to touch a book to feel its energy and bring memories to you. I still need to try Field Notes!

My sister and I both had the notebooks with a bear resting against a tree and our names on them! (01.59) Childhood memory!

Oh man what a happy stack. It's so satisfying to see all the notebooks that have been used like that.

Love the show and tell!! U definitely increased my love of Field Notes, but u also changed the way I use them. Used to rotate several notebooks at a time and change them only for a change of pace.
Notes would get lost and I would always forget which one had which notes. Using one until it is done absolutely gives a connection to the notebook and also helps to tell my story. Love it!!

I credit you with unleashing my Field Notes love. They are perfect to use for any purpose. I’ve struggled with ways to keep various records/notes/ideas in a single place. Different activities have different life spans which can cause some items to be scattered across long time periods. Field Notes and similar sized books are perfect for having a dedicated notebook for a task/use. They are my primary journaling book. One for gardening. One for stargazing. One for music practice. One my workshop projects, etc. You get the idea.
    Love seeing your collection!

I am pleased I made another FN convert! That size notebook is the best.

@@BlankFirstPage well…I’ve been a FN users for several years, but on a much more limited scale. You showed me that they had so much wider usage and it has really helped getting things organized in such a small size. Allowing myself to dedicate one to each separate need has been quite freeing.

Netherlands now. That's at least the seventh country you've lived in, but I feel like another couple are somewhere in the mix. Not that I'm stalking you... Anyway, the Dutch store Hema have incredibly cheap notebooks that are unexpectedly superb for fountain pen. No bleed-through at all with my Pilot, at least.

I have Field Notes notebooks on my wishlist from Jetpens. Right now I have a Moleskine Cahier as my functional junk journal and a Pen and Gear Undated Daily pocket planner for in the scrub pocket work planning and notes.

@@BlankFirstPage It is definitely working well and I love the process of picking a new notebook when it fills up. Just switched from one of the letterpress ones to a signs of spring. Really like the texture of the debossed cover and the paper inside is unique.
