  • Langkawi Island is in the Strait of Malacca, which is the main shipping channel between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea. Part of an archipelago of nearly 100 islands, Langkawi is the largest and considered the Jewel of Kedah, a northern Malaysian state. Once home to bands of pirates, the islands are now dotted with hotels that provide guests access to some of the best beaches and sites in Malaysia.
The Maha Tower oversees the main harbor that offers access to the eagle feeding area near Pulau Singa Besar. This part of the archipelago includes the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, where legend says those who swim in the waters will be blessed with increased fertility.
There is drone footage from near this lake and at the southern tip of the islands.
The Langkawi Skywalk is the largest freestanding curved bridge in the world and is reached by taking a series of gondolas.
