Makes me want to explore how to link some nulls to the geo points on the belt so by expanding the nulls along the spline or contracting the nulls it will contract or expand the geo belt to influence the cloth position with dynamics. basically make it work like a curtain..LOL
I know Noseman knows! Does he know why moving the whole spline or the starting points breaks the animation? The cloth seems to tear off from the original location of the spline. Thanks Athanasios. Learned so much about C4D from your tuts!
Moving an object with a cloth tag will cause problems, so the recommended method is to make a temporary Null, move the Cloth Tag to the Null, move whatever you want to move, and drag the Cloth tag back on the cloth... Let me know if that solves it...
@@noseman It lead to the solution. Moved the cloth and belt tag to a new null. Repositioned the spline to a new location and added back the tags. Main point was I cleared the Belt tag and SET it againt. Worked perfectly. Thanks!!! looking forward to your next video.
There's a better way to do this now. Instead of using the belt, just deform your main cloth with the align to spline, add a cloth tag, and use a vertex map to define the 'cloth' section of your geo and feed that vertex map into the cloth tag's 'mix animations' with pins influence parameter. You can even use fields to dynamically control the belting from the vertex map, it's madness.
indeed. If you go to the New Cineversity: cineversity.maxon.net you will find two tutorial series on Cloth & Pyro Simulations. In one Cloth tutorial I show you how to make shader blinds that way...

Quick Question Mr.Noseman, I was wondering if there is any way we could make particles come off the cloak like magic dust. Trying to create something magical with the cloak for title sequence and just wondering how I would do this as it would probably be quite challenging to composite with Particular . Cheers Dude !
@@noseman Amazing dude , thank you so much sir ! Yeah , thats great. I think I need to spend more time in Cinema, there is so much there ! Thank you :)
Question for you @Athanasios Pozantzis , I was just wondering if its worth going deep into Thinking Particles. I can't afford X Particles at the mo and thinking of using Thinking Particles until I can. I have the Red Giant Suite but wanted to run Simulations in C4D so I can use render engine and for speed. Do you think using Particular in the Motion Graphics pipeline Compositing with c4d is a good idea or can I get similar results with Thinking Particles. I don't mind spending time learning if the results are good. However, I have heard the particle system in C4D is a bit dated which makes me question whether its worth learning. Thank you for your help Noseman !
