I only have my cpr and first aid certification. I’m 19 and want to be a teacher in the future. Trying to get experience but I don’t know what I need to be hired as a daycare worker :/
I would say starting out just let them know you are passionate and put any relevant experience on your resume! If you ever did any babysitting, any courses in high school, if you are going to college for teaching. All of that is relevant and can help you get a job as an aide at a daycare!
Try becoming a teachers assistant first and see how you like it, gain some experience and definitely good you already have certifications so you won't have to do modules. If you already good with children chances will be you be hired if you have patience and time for kids.
It's always so crazy to me hearing how much other daycares pay their teachers! At the daycare I work at I started at $7.25 an hour. And even our Most experienced people when first hired still only start at $7.50 an hour....Once you become a "lead" teacher though we get 8.00~8.50 an hour. I have no experience working with children. A lot of them want degrees and one year experience. My degree is in computer science. Not early childhood development. I have no kids myself and I never held a baby before. I’m not sure where this experience should come from when I have no money to get a degree nor money to take a class. I’m still in school
Best bet, babysit. Volunteer babysitting for neighbors or family. If you do that for a family member make sure they are paying you even for strangers. Most importantly, check your state for CPR and First Aid classes.

So one of your pro points is you get to practice changing diapers? 60% of staff I’ve worked with have had their own children. In my experience, it’s the 18-25 year olds who think they know everything, tell you how to do your job, and bully others. The best mentors I had when in that industry were well over 40.

And I really want to go in the healthcare field tht involves children so it’s also another reason why I think working In a daycare center would help
Hi Afrah! I started working at a daycare when I was 19 so it is probably possible to start when you are 17! If you are taking any child care related classes or can volunteer with children that might help too! I haven't hired for a daycare so I'm not sure what they might be looking for, but each daycare is a little different so I would recommend applying to many different daycares to see if they would hire an assistant! You may also want to consider applying for Montessori schools or camps as well! I hope that helps and good luck 😊

Hello , did they ask you for any specific requirements?
This was helpful! Thanks!
Lots of degrees that work with kids give you experience in the classroom
Literally apply and they’ll probably hire you because daycares are always understaffed. You literally don’t need a degree at all.
@@hannahuahh and this is why I don’t want any kids I have going to daycare!!!!! The workers never have degrees or experience! they’re so understaffed they’ll hire ANYBODY! then kids who have special needs are tossed aside and their needs are continually ignored
Kids who have special needs mainly but also NT kiddos too!!!!
the time time i would 8 am to 2pm
Thank you 😊
So one of your pro points is you get to practice changing diapers? 60% of staff I’ve worked with have had their own children. In my experience, it’s the 18-25 year olds who think they know everything, tell you how to do your job, and bully others. The best mentors I had when in that industry were well over 40.
Wow that sucks i make 16 almost 17 for amazon :/ i wanna study for preschool but the pay is so low
I like your videos a lot! Did you graduate yet? I’m going to school to be an early childhood special ed teacher !
Working at stores low paying I need theas job tools backups etc
I love kids, I wanna try working at a daycare and see how it goes :)
Best Bops if you work in the USA the pay is not livable even when you have a degree. They pay more in the school system.
I worked in two centers
Which child care did you work at first? I have worked in Corporate children care for 27 years. I’m in Minnesota to.
when u worked there were u a teacher’s assistant or were u a teacher ?
For most of my duration working at a daycare I was a teachers assistant, but towards the end I was filling in for the main teacher and creating lessons a lot. I was not quite a main teacher but I also couldn't commit to working longer than the summer and they didn't want a main teacher for only a few months!
Hey also do teacher’s assistants in daycares get full time?
thanks for the tips I always wanted to work at a daycare its so cool to see the kids everyday and to see the kids grow up I just love kids they are so cute your videos are very helpful I will love to watch more of your videos I think your super pretty I like you thanks so much for sharing your videos about daycare its a big help for people who wants to work at a daycare
Thank you so much for your support and kind words! I really appreciate hearing that I am helping someone or giving them a video that is worthwhile! I really hope it helped you to consider some positives and negatives of working at a daycare! Overall, I absolutely love working with kids in any context and I loved my job at the daycare! I totally agree with the fact that it is amazing to see the kids everyday and watch them grow, it is incredible to see how much they can do each year and know that I am contributing to their future!
Very useful video.Thank you!
What is,
Early childhood education?Pls explain!
Thank you! At my University an education degree is split into different categories, and early childhood education is learning the developmental and educational process for working with infants up to age 5 and typically the degree is infant to third grade. I hope this helps!
Why would u have to drive to a bus station and then take a bus? Ive got to have ESP the second I turned your video on I thought Minnesota it must have been the accent.

Do we need to change the diapers as well??? As a day care teacher???
Pretty much
definetely, i worked in one and gotta change all the toddlers nappies pretty much every hour or few
Yuppp. It gets annoying when the kid is already 3 and can speak properly, yet keeps playing with a poopy nappy
@@minna1997- Not to mention that these parents want you potty train their kids too
@@marckid93 yup, it happened
Hi! Idk if your still responding to comments but I was just wondering if u know what the minimum age is to work as a daycare assistant or after school teacher? I’m a high school senior and 17 and I rllyyy would love to be like a helper and assistant with kids and I was just wondering if they they would let someone work who is kinda younger? I really am passionate and I can show them tht even tho I don’t have actual job experience in teaching - I have done plentyyy of volunteering and been a Sunday school teacher/ assistant for children.
@@hansonfam5You replied!! And thank uu so much for the information - I’ll def apply to as many centers as I can and just attempt to see if I’m able to get in lol. But thank U again and this helped a lot:) have a good day!

I love kids! My only fear is the noise because i have super sonic hearing and my other issue would be working with other staff that will prob annoy me 😬
Honestly, every job has good sides and bad sides! Working in a daycare can really challenge your patience, but overall you do it because you love working with the kids and the difference you can make in their lives! I have worked with other staff who make me crazy, but at the end of the day you either learn to see the positives or find something better! Overall though, working with kids can be really fun and I really loved my job in the grand scheme of everything!
Chaide Elwood I love kids but the regulations set by the DHS take the fun out of the job.
