I love how much this video shows close-ups of knob tweaking. Tweaking electronic parameters is it's own instrument. Knowing how to manipulate samples, feedback, and timbre are all part of the game to me.

9 of the ten top drummers all-time are jazz drummers according to several music publications. It's just what they do.Only rock drummer who made some of the list was Neil Peart of Rush.

Something different happened to me. A friend showed me these guys and I as a drummer myslef I told myself "Wow that's a pretty good drummer", and I watched more clips of him. Then I read bill buford saying he's one of the best drummers in the world nowadays and I felt like I knew what I was thinking, he affirmed my thoughts :D

not trying to look cool while playing intense (at least emotionally) drum parts - that's what makes Mark Guiliana cool.

There was a band in the 80's called The The, that did many of the elements you hear here*the off-tempo beats, speeches). That was 30 years ago.

So what exactly does Steve Wall do besides triggering the clips from all the speeches and what not?

Di sicuro non è per "puristi".. sperimenta ed ha un suono particolare. A me piace perchè riprende un po' i suoni della musica elettronica e li inserisce con gusto in contesti jazz o rock.
