You might be unsure of what your dreams sound like, but Corey knows.
and he knows how to show them to you
😆 🤣🤣
Jesse Martin, fire the next time
Kenneth Ware ^ this is not writing. It is loving and living poetry. It is starched, staunch-scripture, more holy than many paid prophets plagued by profits. Thank you sir.
I could have put it any clearer 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🔥🔥🔥🎼🎼🎼 the hearing you'll never dream the same Corey should be in everyone playlist when you're dreaming 🙏🙏🙏🙏😮😯😲😳🤯 I really want to know what goes on in Corey's head whenever he's playing smhhhh
I've seen Cory many times with Snarky Puppy and with the Funk Apostles. But this solo piece is another level. The man is a living legend.
It is, right?
Mike Knish reminded me of when gods speak lol literally maybe
National treasure
We all hear it 😁🤭🎵🎵🎵🎵™️
Man. Every solo he does is 🔥🔥🔥. That Lingus one though…. 🤯
Am I the only one who felt like I was watching a live-action version of Soul? This man is speaking thru those keys! 🎹🔥💯
This is an underrated comment.
One minute into this performance everyone got their money's worth. They saw the rest of the show for free.
My favourite part is unquestionably 00:39 when Cory finds that Moog tone and instantly stank faces. Epic.
Haha yep. "Oof there it is"
@@brandonlbartlett totally!😂
"Dayn did I create that?"
4:12 that bass descending with the piano, wow...
It was everything man
Yeah 🔥 🔥
YES!
🔥🔥🔥
gave me goosebumps, ngl
that transition to that other song is truly the duality of man lmao
One thing you must learn about Cory Henry, he literally is into it so much he leaves the physical world. Now that my friends is the secret of musical improvement, let your spirit speak.
There is no one secret. & just being really "into it" is not enough. He got so good because he grew up in a strong musical culture rooted in the Golden Era Gospel sound, surrounded by music from an early age, great teachers, access to a Hammond Organ.....& this is crucial. His own relentless hard work & dedication. Practice every waking moment, study theory & dream about those keys at night. . Only then will a musician really feel like they are leaving the physical world, & inspire the listener to join them on that journey.
Elijah Daniel like Billy Preston, Cory Henry was a child prodigy with their roots in Gospel church.
I thought I was the only one who peeped that years ago..Yeah it's way more than just being "into it" my dude definitely is something special. I have seen God moving his hands on several occasions... it's one of those things either you're able to pick up on it or you're not but it's there..
@@zivkovicable Being born immersed in a musical context definitely has a lot of parallels with musical genius. Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, all great gospel singers, Victor Wooten, Pedro Martins, Jacob Collier, and probably many if not most of the musical geniuses we know about fit that pattern. I think every time we get nature meeting nurture, a new prodigy enters the scene.
AMEN.
That improv and the song went together like oil on the water
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
and still the transition slapped
This artist. Cory Henry...... He only has 86000 monthly plays on spotify.
That number definitely makes him underrated for sure.
So Isaid, totally agree, many artists are underrated when they don’t fit the mold, but Cory is on a whole other level that many may never reach.
Intellectual music is not a pop music and it’s always underrated
Do not get obsessed with numbers, Mozart died a pauper.😲
I'm practicing daily. Just watch im going to be on this level!!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I believe in u man
Sterling Sanders get it man🤘🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥
Do you want my piano? don´t need it any more.
Fausto I need one
U can do it
Cory's a great gospel organist and much more!
Mr. Henry deserves the industry's highest praise.
The thing with him is that he's humble.
Word
He shouldnt be and we would still love him
I've found that most professional jazz players are.
When the most talented organist on the planet needs to pay the bills.
Pure genius. His soul is singing.
What the HELL did i just watch??? And why am i about to watch it again???
If you liked that, watch him with Snarky Puppy!
Jazz+rnb+classical in one single piece.. This is truly incredible
Kids in the future will know Cory’s name when learning music history 👌🏽 he’s just on another level
Corey is on some awesome Beethoven or even the Mozart of our generation 👍🏿
The journey and story telling of that solo was amazing! I didn’t want it to end.
I wish I could hear this live one day.
I watch this several times everyday. Simply awesome!
beautiful x
I am crying because this is beautiful, And because what this man did would take me my lifetime. What a genius.
Yes this was extraordinary
puts me in another world.....wow
Oh noo... last time I watched a video of cory henry.. I stayed up all night for hours browsing admiring his talent. You wont trap me this time.. 3rd time watching this video now...
Pffft. Heck, I could do that... with about 506 years of practice and two brains and a third hand.
haha Loser. I could easily do it in 505 years.
Ha! You weakling! I could do it in 1 year with 1506 hands!!!😂😂😂
Haha
What if I say I could play this in one night? (*in my dream)
thzzzt Take a look Guys ua-cam.com/video/Dc5W_dyJpUY/v-deo.html
I can’t understand how anyone would think this would be a great arrangement. ”Yeah you play the most amazing intro ever and build up tension, then we will enter the stage and totally fuck it up! It’s going to be awesome!”
Exactly!
Lmfao!!
Just when I think I've seen all that Cory Henry had to offer, he goes and pulls this kind of stunt.
lol
Pretty much sum it up
Exactly, don't make any kind of sense wow!!!
Indeed, this young man has a very UNIQUE talent and this was an AMAZING piece! Sounds like something from a MOVIE soundtrack.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾👍🏾❤💯
It was a Stevie Wonder song
Truly an otherworldly gift my brother
Cory Henry is the best keyboardist ever and no one can change my mind
Yeah! Cory Henry is a good keyboardist but he doesn’t uses his left hand efficiently like Art Tatum! Art Tatum is the Supreme Master of the Piano!
Anomalie
@@clenzymaxiclas5405 he is talking about keyboard
Saviour bee is #1
Quennel Gaskin 💯👍🏿
Relative to the transition of this beautiful improv into Smoke On The Water:- In my opinion, the true thing to take away here IS HOW SEAMLESS HE MADE THAT FLOW!!! SO SEAMLESS THAT NONE OF US SAW IT COMING.... so putting song choice aside:- "THIS INDEED SHOWCASES THE MUSICAL GENIUS OF CORY HENRY"..... dont bash it because you didnt expect that, instead applaud the technicality with which he made this seamless piece..... well done Mr Henry!!!
I got entranced. I know Cory will be legendary. He moved us, touched us, and have us drop our jaw. Slowly I get more and more sucked in then he touched the organ. I got totally mesmerized and knew that I was watching something that a select few should have a privilege. Then the piano fades away and I invested all my attention to it... ONLY TO PLAY THE INTRO TO F***ING SMOKE ON THE WATER! I've never got bamboozled in life as much as this one!
This guy just made a movie intro😂❤
This music feels like dreaming in the best way possible. I love this sense of mistery and the complex emotions in his music. A lot of jazz you hear is technical but has no soul whatsoever, this is incredibly refreshing
i can watch this piece whole day....man
I have to come back and watch this masterpiece every few months. Ethereal
All you need, just a focus mind and those magical fingers.
This literally made me cry...so Beautiful.
I hear Chick Corea in all of that beauty, the master has passed down a great legacy to us, his musical children are carrying on in his stead
and i love it!!!🏹🎯💯👌👀
I don't know what is more cooler, his personality, his playing ability and skills or them stunning sunglasses!!! Wow them Sunglasses!!! Wowwww!!!!
I said the same exact thing
Whoever dislikes this.....DOES NOT KNOW MUSIC!!! Cory is one of the most complete musicians walking on this earth. He is a genius for real!!!
Yesss. He can play gospel, jazz and classical. He is a living legend.
They probably disliked it because of the ending
Dear Maurice Mack Sr: The minor chords and arpeggios-type scales around give some jazz and black music its impressive-sounding flavor. However, the chops are like night and day compared to Keith Emerson and Lang Lang: Take away the pretty-pretty sounds -- no comparison.
And out of no where comes Smoke On The Water
One of the most talented musician composers of our time.
This is the blueprint for my life.
Asin I mean he's always too accurate on piano. God bless him
Pure musical genius..I swear Cory is an alien, its not possible he is human
What a wonderful playing
I'm watching this from Liberia.....
And I'm moved......by his fingers....
I could never imagine Cory will turn sad romance into Rock n Roll🤟🏾🔥
Amazing, it just felt like a joke when it turn into smoke on the water... And I like deep purple
Like a different kind of getting Rick rolled
I love deep purple and I hate smoke on the water. I just skip that song when I listen to that album, lol heard it a million times, it was cool when I first heard it, not now after 20 years of it being beat into my brain by rock radio
lmfao i was thinking the same exact thing. You hear it start to come thru in the improv and i'm thinking "nah, it can't be. it just can't-"
@@micahc9509 I love zeppelin, but stairway is a no for me. Black sabbath, no paranoid for me as well etc.
Haha, smoke screened 😂
@@kenjimac2211 😌👍 not bad
Read the comments as I watched and still wasn't expecting THAT.
Same here lol
"Oh he's going to do a bit of Smoke on the Water interesting"
"OH he's ACTUALLY doing Smoke on the Water"
Same.
I can still remember the same solo played with BOTH hands... someone from another planet.
The reason why he's on repeat on my playlist
That is what great musicians do….first they play on their level when they solo and then they accommodate their fellow musician’s standard…..that is why we have these two heterogeneous pieces of music….
As a Grammy nominated songwriter I must say with a level and well musically travelled sensibility that this man is an evil heavenly conflicted musical genius with melody pouring from his lungs pores nostrils lips and follicles.
So you know your 1-5-6-4 progression, eh? Yea this is not that.
@@karihotakainen5210 eh’s’rude
😀😃 Best comment!
Dear Dre: Definitely, something is.
Cory is beyond talented omg I study him day in and day out and I still don’t get how this is even possible
That was absolutely beautiful
55 dislikes = those who sold their pianos after this
Eric King agreed 😂
Eric King yep... Just unplug my keyboard and pick my guitar back up 🤣😂🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Konstantin Ridaya Clown
Konstantin Ridaya Be quiet
Am I hearing a little Bill Laurence-esque playing the middle section where he switches to the piano sound? A great artist like this never stops evolving. Cory's a genius but the way he learns a little from every player he shares the stage with humbles him.
Uuuunbelieable!!! Continued blessings Cory!!! God's gift strong in you sir. God speed. Change the world with it!!! AMEN.
Mr. Henry is divinely talented, much love and respect
Breathtaking. God given gift.
When he’s just playing the moon and the synth at the same time and shredding, Cory is a goat contender
4 minutes 30 seconds of perfection.
We are not ready for this. Our kids gonna love it
not if Tik Tok is anything to go by
Cory is a mad scientist!
Grateful this is happening in our time
Man!!!
My soul has just been musically etched! I heard your soul! #CoryHenry
I can hear some Herbert Hancock and Stevie Wonder in this piece.. Beautiful
A lot of Chick Corea I would add
God bless him with a gift no one can't take it away
Cory, thank you!
Why do some people dislike this kind of music? And others love it?
The real life Joe Gardner from Soul. Beautiful peace.
Brilliantly deep
This could be the best piano player i've ever witnessed
Oscar Peterson is the best!
I don’t know why this showed up magically in my UA-cam recommend because 90 percent of the time UA-cam recommendations are complete shit.
This guy is incredible. What a great video.
👍👍👍😎
sooooooo gooood this bass
I was in Dreamland. Then smoke on the water cut in like my morning work alarm.
He got better??!!!😳😳😳😳😳😳 OMG!!!!! Put some respect on his name!!!
🤣 I know right. Dude up top said "He's pretty good. I like his tones.🤣🤦🏾♂️
@@RyMuEntertainment Exavtly. Low key haters.
Thank you it's Mr. Maestro Cory Henry... 👏👏👏
Nahhh... I wish
Finally I got to see him on Wednesday night in London and it was incredible. He is a genius of the modern age. I never buy band t-shirts, but I had to have that one!
Oh man, to play like that with sunglasses at night.. it’s like saying I don’t have to see the keys to play it, just let me touch it and the rest is history.
A cool dark clear night, sky full of stars kind of feeling at 0:43
Here comes the moment I can say that I've jammed with Cory when he came to my country on a fest. And I was mind blown of how talented he is.
Beautiful cory !
Amazing this syntheziser
When you ascend into heaven.....this is what you hear......
Cory please come to South Africa again fam
This impro from Cory is simply another level!
Damn! I need to practice!
THIS DID NOT NEED THE INTERRUPTION. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE WHOLE SHOW.
Wow 0:40 reminiscent of Chick Corea’s Return to Forever
TVOR - The Voice of Reason yep love it
Yep - had a Spain kind of sound; was that Al DiMeola on the stage, toward the left side?
@@richvanasse4401 Yes!!
Yep...I think he was definitely inspired by RTF.
@@richvanasse4401 i was looking for this comment, i tip my hat to you sir.
Speechless
Corey you need to quit playing with ppl!!! This was sick!!! God just when I thought you couldn’t possibly get any better!!!!
You're suggesting he cuts off one of his avenues for musical expression?
But then no people would get to play with him :(
Sure he could do that easily, but musicians love playing with other musicians. It's a need we have. Also it gets pretty lonely on the road if you haven't got your bandmates with you.
@@zivkovicable smart
@@pjbpiano she didnt mean it literally
Oh my gosh 🔥🔥🔥
Jazz: get really damn good at an instrument and play whatever you feel like
Exactly lol 😂😆
Couldn't say it better!
Masterpiece
wow that went from really elegant and beautiful to metal real fast
Fantástico 🇧🇷
