Loving the smaller size and it fits amazingly well on my wrist. I think this and the PRX are direct rivals and will both deservedly sell like hot cakes!
My first viewing of this channel - excellent! You elegantly make the video about the watch, rather than yourself and that elevates you as a professional reviewer. I’ve subscribed, many thanks 🙏
I think that The Twelve in both case dimension is one of the best - if not the best - recent release in the watch world: a true do it all watch, perfectly priced and super well made. Love it!
Lovely watches. I was offered the green OP 36mm this week, but unfortunately can't afford it at the moment.....I think for most people, a watch like these Wards is a great start
Ahhh sorry to hear that, but also I'm glad to hear you're not breaking your neck to get the money for it. It's a great hobby but you do have to stay realistic! Have you looked at the new green 35mm PRX? That dial colour is gorgeous!
@@TheWatchBoxDiaries thanks!! Yeah it's okay. I have two watches that I wear - an Aqua Terra from 2007 (black dial), and a G Shock 5600 .. I don't really need the OP, and the green is a little bit too much if I'm honest. I think I was on the hype train, but now realise it's not really a watch I love.... the PRX I never liked to be honest. Integrated bracelets - not a fan What's your grail if you have one?
I used to hate the Christopher Ward logo, only thing that could have made it worse was if they used comic sans. I've taken a liking to their latest releases, and like what they are doing. I am considering the 40mm 12 in titanium. Also nothing wrong with grabbing a quartz watch if you're in a bit of a rush. My everyday watch has a springdrive movement, but love grabbing my gshock if I'm in a hurry or know I'm going to the pool.
Oohh I was SO happy when they finally agreed on a brand logo! I couldn't get Mt head around them using their full name on the dials 😂 The titanium is fantastic! And lightweight, obviously! Haha I'm with you. I have a few quartz and I'm happy with them. But this feels right in Automatic!
I'm right there with ya on the power reserve. I use to not care so much - until I got a Hamilton with 80 hours of power reserve. Now an extended power reserve is something I put near the top of my list when looking for a new watch lol. Great review, and a great looking watch, tempted to buy one!
It's all trial and error to get to know our preferences and things we find important when looking for a watch. Thank you so much! Good luck in the search!
Good point about the power reserve, and I think it would have looked fine with a date window, especially at 6 o'clock. I'm sure they had a good reason for leaving it out, but I definitely agree with you on that point. Thanks for another great video.
Looks great and thanks for the side-by-side comparison w the 35mm PRX! I’m curious, does it look larger or smaller compared to the mini PRX when on the wrist? The dial is definitely larger in the side by side but the bracelet tapers down very quickly.
I thought people might appreciate it! The PRX is 35mm but with quite a blocky case. The 12 is 36mm, but as you said, tapers quite a lot (I believe its 20mm-16mm on the bracelet). The dial has a lot to focus on too, which might make it appear larger than the actual dimensions suggest. Hope this helps!
@@TheWatchBoxDiaries thanks! Yeah I think a lot of people would be very interested in the comparison of how each wear. Everyone can try on a PRX but most of us can’t try on a Twelve without buying one first. Personally I find the PRX to be a just a smidge too small proportionally, having a 6.5” wrist but also being 6’1”
Wonderful job as always Lucy. I just placed an order for the Nordic blue 36mm and the new Sealander 36 in mulberry I can only afford one. This is going to be interesting and painful.
Thank god for the 36 mm version, the 40mm Twelve would simply overpower my 6.25 inch wrist! Even in titanium I fear that it would get onerous to wear. Maybe I just need to get in the gym like you 😅
Great review, and I had to watch yours first. I think this will be a smash for CW. I think the 40mm wears much better than most integrated bracelet watches of the size, but this will be welcome for a portion of the population. Nicely done on the color choices. Some will love not having a date. I do like a date, but I could see maybe that making the watch a bit thicker and throwing off the proportions when they shrunk it. Maybe not, but just a theory. I'm sure everything else is as wonderful as the 40, which i tried on at the Chicago Windup and was supremely impressed. They really felt much more expensive than the price. If anybody likes the design and is thinking of getting one, just go for it. I doubt they will be disappointed.
@@TheWatchBoxDiaries Same! Just the purple dial was the one I had my heart set on and these measurements are perfect for my wrist size. The largest I like the lug to lug is around 44mm, ideally 40-41mm lug to lug. Great video as always btw
Nicely done Lucy. I very nearly pulled the trigger on the 40mm but got a heads up fairly soon after its release that a 36 was a definite near future release, so I held fire and here it is !. I have a fair few 40/39/38 mm watches but only one 36 ( Datejust 36 Blue Motif ) so for me this was worth the wait ( I just dont get the PRX hype as I found that it wears like a brick lol ). No date is just fine by me, I never know what day it is half the time !. One disappointment for me is the change of the indices on the Arctic ( Alta ) White to Gold from Silver , hmm I know have to consider the other dial colours which is a pity as I love white dial watches. However these will fly out of stock in a heartbeat for sure.
Just to tell you that I had actually bought a Christopher Ward the 12 after seeing all these watch reviewer videos since I like collecting watches and on videos, they actually look good. However the quality is not at all a Swiss made watch like as I had to return it with such a major issue on dial that you would not expect with a normal watch forget about Swiss watch in fact, I had ordered a rubber strap as well, which wasn’t fitting to the Watch even after numerous attempts and to that there customer care actually acknowledged that they have this issue as common complaint. I have proves to show in case anyone is interested.
I prefer the date remove - more like OP, a go anywhere do anything watch. When I have a collection of watches I really don't feel like setting the date every time.
If I'm honest , I have integrated bracelet burnout... also not a fan of butterfly clasps. I would much rather a few nice leather straps, or an adjustable bracelet But yes.. very nice option for anyone who loves the look. Chris Ward is a great company. To me, they are a fantastic choice at an affordable price...a little bit like Hamilton in that regard
I prefer the watch with no date. Yes, as you say, it's a useful complication but... it becomes a pain in the ass if you are the kind of person that likes to wear different watches and changing them daily. It's more than enough work having to wind them and set the time, setting also the date, if I'm able to choose...
Small and mighty is good for a small person but it will not look proper on a hard working labor male that has masculine rist. Bigger human deserves a watch that fits them best as well. To push 36mm on people who's thumb print is the size of the case is ingenious.
okay, those colours are splendid
Haha they really are! Need to see that green in person!
Loving the smaller size and it fits amazingly well on my wrist. I think this and the PRX are direct rivals and will both deservedly sell like hot cakes!
I'd be intrigued to see this next to the new ice blue 35mm Powermatic with that waffle dial. 🤔 but definitely both winners!!

Another beautiful watch, could well be on the shopping list.Just bought the Atoll and Mulberry Red Sealander.
😂 You have a type! A good type though. The Atol is a great watch too - saw one in person the other day!
for such a small channel the quality is awesome 😮
Aww thank you!

Everything here is true! Such a great release from a brand that are going from strength to strength!
The Twelve is my favorite of these integrated bracelet watches

I agree, taking away the date function is a very bad idea.
Loving the new green dial! 🤑
YESSSSS. Right there with you. It's a damn cool shade!
I need it with a black dial!! Should i hold out?

Haha exactly! I hope they continue and don't get carrier away with their success!🤞

Look like a fancy PRX, nice video, thanks for sharing
Basically 😂 like the step up from it. 👌
Does it wear bigger or smaller than the CWard Sealander in 36mm?
love these. But I wish they had the purple!
I'm sure the range will expand, like their others!

6:18 it looks great on him--what is his wrist size?
Hey! His wrist size is just over 6.25 inches.
Does anybody know if CW will be releasing additional colorways of the 36mm, like Basalt Grey, etc?
Love the white and gold. Do you know if that’s actual gold plated, or just gold-coloured finish? Great review Lucy and congrats on the loan piece!
Seeing a lot more of these Christopher Ward watches in Los Angeles.
Haha they're getting about a bit! They are doing so well. I'm excited for them!

I too like the Alta white but the rose gold touch seems to make it more feminine for me, and hence I will wait if they bring any other colors..
Fantastic piece, but although I was waiting for the 36 for my 6.25 wrist, I love the titanium… so might still opt for the 40mm
case diameter (mm) = wrist circumference (cm) x 2.4
Love it

This looks a lot like the Czapek Antarctique collection 🤔
😂 but a much lower price tag!
cw the 12 is best watch under $4000 because of deferent level of finishing
05:20 beautiful
This will shift units.
I completely agree!
date window not important
