ultrakool Not at all. You should taste iberian ham, wich is typical in Spain. Of course, is more expensive than parma ham, but it's absolutely delicious.
Naxertis I find it funny how spanish fellows don't loose time to declare how better their ham is compared to the (several) italian ones. My wife is spanish and in Spain I always eat iberico and never need to argue about their quality. Who's strong never needs to mob about someone else's gastronomic specialities. We are strong...and not jelous.
i purchased this ham around 9 or 10 kilos 28 months old and the taste is not bad..... but i really prepare the spanish iberico ham more salty sweatness and the aroma is absolutely fantastic...i rate this ham 3 stars
Fresh sliced parma ham is heaven!, but. I like my parma ham salty also.. Sometimes I slice it, and leave in the refrigerator overnight just to dry it out and make it more salty! Exactly the opposite of what this guy is saying.. It's all down to taste and preferences! (cook it like bacon in your frying pan!)
I've never understood why you want the fat on the slice of parma ham. I enjoy fat on my pork and my steaks. But when it comes to cured ham, I just think the fat tends to separate from the meat so easily and become a long strand that is hard to chew and swallow.
After cutting, do you cover the exposed area with the tan mixture of lard, salt and pepper to preserve until the next customer asks for a cut? Appropriately how many thin cuts do you get before hitting the shank?
Bernardo Pérez Suárez of course you are a spanish and you prefer your 😂😂😂 the fact that italian ones are the best its world known but everyone has got his own preferences ;)
@@mariorossi8028 Actually, no, iberico ham is the truly best in the world, anyone who knows a bit about hams knows this, just search here in youtube for it, and you will see the truth ;)
what a difference towards what you get in Germany... Here you get slice on slice, making them difficult to take apart and on top of that the rule no 2 ( :D ) is not respected... they let the slices of ham at the counter and they dry out...not comparable to the way Italians do it. What a shame...
its funny that all says that the italian ham is the best ad in particular parma ones, except the spanish that says that their one is the best ahhahahaha 😂
I don't think even Italian people think Parma is better than Ibérico de Bellota. I'm Italian and as much we think our hams are among the best in the world, Spanish hams are heavenly. I mean have you ever tasted it, an Ibérico. You would understand why spanish people say it's the best ham.
and if you were thinking american bacon, how ... lowly ? vulgar ? try irish bacon for some blissful experience . the most expensive bacon is used in the most expensive bacon sandwich at Tangberry’s café in Cheltenham, England (325$ all for charity)
How is that in any way wooosh? You asked a question and he gave you an answer, it doesn't have to be woosh just because you want to mock someone who took the time to try and help you. Learn some manners.
I appreciate the hard work, science and artistry that goes into making this product so much I don't mind paying $25 a lb.
I really enjoy seeing people take pride in their food.
I can see a lot of passion in here.. This is great..
Its actually 4 am what I ham doing
It's 4 ham

I can proudly say i am now skilled in the craft of handling both parma ham and parmessano reggiano. Thanks, youtube algorithm.
same here XD
actually, it will take quite a bit of practice to be recognized as skilled :)
it's 11pm on a stormy night and i am watching this. damn.
I can't figure out if the narrator is the Italian or from South Wales... :/
3bears Hahahah, he does sound Welsh
He's most likely Dutch
italians from Emilia region have this particular accent.
He is clearly from Parma
I was actually just about to comment "why on earth do they have some Welsh bloke narrating this" xD
India
I wish they got Ringo Star to voice this.
Carving by hand, the slices should be very thin, thinner then shown in the video !
Unless otherwise requested by the customer. Personally I love thick slices. They are nice to just sit and gnaw on.
the guy in the video is not an experienced hand cutter, just showing it for the video. Its a skill that takes years to perfect.
Yumm
This is making my mouth water..
best ham in the world.
pata negra is better

Massimo Trento ha ha...Spanish porcine insecurities. yes, they once ruled the seas..but never the world, as did the Italians. hehe
+ultrakool The only thing italians are really good at is making pizza.
It sounds like the commentator is from UK, then forgot, then remembered, then forgot, then remembered, etc.

Agree. Sometimes just a single slice when it's dried a bit is heaven. I get salt cravings every so often and it hits the spot.
I’m from parma, i don’t need to buy a leg i just eat cut perfctly🤠
cooking dry cured meat is a sin . you will roast in italian hell for that . and i thought only americans would be such iconoclastic louts :D
lol, like bacon
5 minutes and 40 seconds of my life I can never get back.
Worth it.
Tomorrow i`m gonna buy some ham... It`s just delicious :D
Esto es lo mejor que tiene para ofrecer España, bienvenidos guiris :D.
I love original italian food
I'd like this gentleman to work on my hams next.
because it is the fat that gives the ham its sweetness taste
but not the dried up part . do you eat swine meat ??
I want to taste it, it's look really good.
The pleasures of food.
Delicious ham Parma

poca idea de cortar jamón amigo
Yo también he flipado con el italiano, lo corta como si fuera un jamón york wtf! Aparte no parecía muy curado, parece jamón barato.
zgzTECKTONIK no seas pueblerino. Es otro jamón y otro rollo. Deja de mirarte el ombligo.
I will never use this information but thank you anyway UA-cam suggestions
salivating just watching it . but i'll have to wait till my next trip over, cause i sure wont afford imported prices (as for cheeses and other delis)
so slicey-knife the size of a short-sword, industrial meat-slicer, special ham-holder. gotcha.
Hemmm, delicious.
I am having an exam in 4 hours, why am I watching this?
Go eat some langos
Did you pass?

no . that layer is applied for the curing period .

The most sublime existing flavor amongst natural unprocessed food.
Always look for the "Parma" brand on the rind. Plenty of fakes out there.

you must be rich then . and if you cooked parma ham, you will end up in italian hell for that mortal sin :D
the dude narrating this sounds like he moved from spain to liverpool
LMAO
the kid is not the one dubbed the clip
im just trying to figure out if the voice actor used an italian accent because hes translating an italian , or because he is italian.
the voice actor sounds like either an Italian who lived in England, the way he pronounces some words sounds British.
Quite an old comment, but it's actually a Welsh accent.
Raxio ra
So you are telling me this guy has perfect english pronounciation ?. gg.
because he is italian
Ok....we slice ham on 0.8 cm.....and not soo fat like u do guys.....Kras ham...best of the best....
pork fat is saturated. curing doesn't change the fat to unsaturated type.
First thing I reacted to.
i want to start noshing on that ham, just like a huge turkey drumstick !
Sarappp!😘😘😘

clearly not enough practice at manual cutting, he is too young . skilled cutters will make hand slices as thin as the machine
Wow!
Take a shot every time he says slice
Ok. Tips are cool. But, first, removing the wrap is kind of obvious...
I was going to buy one of these hams, but there is way too much work involved before you can eat it.

parma ham should be served like it is sushi. placed on top of small cube of rice.
actually, better served with risotto, ingredients from the same area match better . that is the principle of 'terroir'
wrapped around melon also
after slicing, teach us how to eat this ham
But in English only 😁
Wrap a slice around a slice of cantaloupe melon.
