Very helpful and easy to understand. Scrapers have remained a mystery to me and no longer. Thank you!
Thanks for posting this
Your explanation is so simple. Thanks for demystifying this process.
Man…. This video is packed with great information. I just love that simple wooden sled for filing the curved edges 90 degrees. The Devil is always in the details!!
Best video FWW has put out in a long time. Well done!
I can't wait to try this technique. Thanks so much.
Appreciate you taking the time to share
Gold. Thank you. Cheers, David.
Excellent! Fine Woodworking by a Fine Woodworker! His book is awesome!!
Holy cow! Who knew?
I just learned an amazing new way to sharpen scrapers.
Thank you! :))
Awesome technique
Finally a new method!
That little jig is genius. Totally making myself one of those little fellas.
Ian Phillip ya I’m gonna make one right now. That’s so simple.
Great Tips! Starting out woodworker here, still collecting tools but I need any tips I can find. Have my 3rd video coming out Friday.
Any suggestion on how to use a card scrapper with 1 hand. I been wanting to try them out
William Ng does something similar with card scrapers. I've tried it... and failed. This is NOT as easy as it looks! Great video!
You are right. Scraper sharpening is I guess is the most difficult tool sharpening process of all. But with trial and error, I think you can do it. Just be careful on the steps that he is taking and be careful in what degree he holds the tools to sharpen the scraper. Best of luck!
Love the idea of the sledge. Please do a follow-up on the details and size etc.
All of that is covered in the next issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine (#271).
What is this sorcery?
