I've not read any Jules Verne so I don't have an opinion on his work. What are his most popular works? I know around the world in 80 days, but that's it. Maybe an author I could bring to the channel. 👍
Thanks for listening, no worries. I’m glad you enjoyed the readings. Check out my other channel if you haven’t seen it. I read live there regularly. youtube.com/@bookclub5291
Remarkable story...much on the same line as Jonathon Swift Gulliver's travels and the yahoos...contempt towards human social structure and humans as a whole...a doomed planet shared by scientists but based only on theory...Enjoyed the story much more that I thought..Thanks Lewis, beautifully read.
well i was just falling down a rabbit hole of classic audio books and landed here. Then I noticed your a counselor. Do you have any opinion on emdr, I think it's called? I've had several people tell me it's good for ptsd... i'm not sure...but I'm starting to suspect some people in my life think I need some head shrinking, LOL. Great reading, by the way. I always loved this old story. 😊

Who do you think was the better science-fiction writer, H.G. Wells or Jules Verne?
I've not read any Jules Verne so I don't have an opinion on his work. What are his most popular works? I know around the world in 80 days, but that's it. Maybe an author I could bring to the channel. 👍
Jules Verne is a great recommendation! I think I may bring him to the next poll.
@@lewiskirk8289 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' and 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea' are good places to start.
Are these shorter, or better than around the world in 80 days?
@@lewiskirk8289 Hard to beat 'Around the World in 80 Days', but I'd say 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' comes close.
So calm. Thank you. I've listened to Socrates. Sometimes i forget to like so I'm sorry if I saw some and didn't click 👍

what's your accent? Also very nicely narrated.
I grew up just outside London, but I have had people say SA and Australian too. So I really don’t know.
seems like you edited a LOT out & are missing some really cool parts and explanations....I didn't know until I found another reader's version...but your voice is soothing & pleasing to listen to

It’s not “haitch”!! It’s ‘aitch’. Check in the dictionary. If you’re going to read books, at least get that right
