Out of all the folks showcasing products BRIAN PHILLIPS gives it to you raw as is no filter and I appreciate that!!! From setup to flight he covers it !!! This channel is a blessing!
Another build/review vid hit straight out of the park! Everything you need to know and everything you didn't know you needed to know! Thanks Brian and Camera Crew, you guys are awesome!!
Brian and camera crew, another excellent video! Nobody goes into the details like you do, NOBODY! The radio set up ands a great service to the novice and the experienced as well. Please keep it up.
Awesome plane! Mine is all ready for its maiden. The only mod I did was to put steel clevis on all surfaces, and the optional wheel pants. Fit and finish are the best I have ever seen from a wood ARF (I have the BNF). Note that the stock wheels are 2 1/2 inch, and DO NOT fit the wheel pants! I had to put a set of 2 1/4 inch wheels to get the wheel pants to fit. To those complaining about the price and comparing this to a foamy, there is no comparison. Balsa planes such as this are much more costly to produce because they have to pay people to build them. Foam planes are injection molded and assembled. It is MUCH less labor intensive. Foam planes are easier to repair, but balsa flies much better and also will last much longer without the yellowing and hangar rash you get with a foam plane.
I'm grateful for the "one and done" that sold me his Dx6e this week. Nice balsa plane. Looks fun to fly. I'm partial to the more scale/realistic planes, though. Getting my UMX Timber X on Saturday (followed the links 👍) and I'm super stoked! Can't wait to get flyin!! Thanks for making this particular additiction contagious, BPrc. Great camera work, camera crew!!
I like its size better than the previous Ultra, and it reminds me of the Timber X proportionally. I imagine the 3D performance is pretty good. The price is a little high, but if this is your thing its probably worth it. Nice set up. Weird that flaps are not set up at that price.
Great video! I love your enthusiasm, it's contagious!! I just got the email from Horizon Hobby about the new release. It looks like just the plane I need! Keep up the great work Brian and Camera Crew!
Good parallel, but I actual probably like the OMP flight a bit better. BIG CATCH is that you CAN do inboard flaps and ailerons on this Ultra Stick, while the Challenger is (without serious mods) only ever gonna be full length flapperons. To be frank, I LOVE EFlite stuff, but this might be one rare exception to the rule. Brian, thanks for all you do. Can you help me with my new slow ultra stick radio set up? I have the dx8e and all controls are good except throttle. I set up switch H for throttle cut,but now when I power every thing on , Throttle just beeps,no response even when I flip switch H. Also I made a huge mistake, while the plane was powered on, I went to settings on the radio…BIG mistake, plane went into wide open throttle inside my house. Slammed into the wall, broke the prop, and the only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Is this a known issue, I should have seen somewhere?
My thought exactly, HH is getting out of hand with pricing. I feel a lot of people are going to say no about this hobby because of prices. For a lot of us, it's not that we can't afford it but don't want to spend that kind of money for what it is........kinda like new vehicles these days.
Yep your bang on the money brother people what like the hobby or want to get into the don’t want to spend a stupid amount of cash on it inc myself people are scared to spend loads of money in this hobby so they never try it but what they don’t realise is you can get yourself a set up for a descent price I mean I can buy a set up for intermediate for price if 1 transmitter not to mention any names.
@@Jay-zc7iq lol I’m going do the same I got few broken plane parts and going to make something out of my bits and bobs money tight for me at moment like most people. But I’m looking forward to spring and summer get some flying time weather been terrible for months here
NO WAY for this kind of money, foamies are already too expensive. They don't have over $150 (what they pay for them, including shipping)in any plane they sell
Guys /girls gets some foam board 10 bucks , 4 servos 10 bucks some tape a motor for 50 bucks you can build this in a couple of days super easy and flies just as good 👍 go for it it’s easy
Brian, is your home based flying area specifically designated a FRIA? I asked this because of the impending FAA rule coming into play in September of this year. So many of your loyal followers and model aviators are concerned because we are not located near a FAA approved community based flying area (FRIA) such as an AMA certified site. I ask this, not to incriminate you because most of the aircraft weigh more than 250 gr.
Brian I like u you our videos but I find watching your videos less and less and why is this. I’ll tell you why and this will affect your viewers like myself in this hobby. I’m getting fed up if you just using specktrum products. Most people in this hobby don’t use specktrum products because is so exspensive and we don’t get given it for free. I would like you to do videos with other transmitters and battery’s and charges what are not spectrum. Most people I meet in this hobby don’t use their products. I think you would get more views if you exsplore more different products what normal people in this hobby can afford good luck Brian
Ok then may be do a beginner series to middle to exspert covering different peoples budgets. I’m not asking him to do every brand but mix it up a bit Brian saying starting from your best choices from RTF for beginners/ then intermediate which means spending money on a better transmitter etc battery’s receivers which Brian would pay for like Futaba etc which ever he thinks is best bang for your buck. Then exspert using specktrum etc.just mix it up all the top UA-camrs in this hobby use specktrum well the majority what about the man on a tight budget etc
I really don’t care for this plane , in the age of fully scale planes I don’t see the appeal this plane has. To me this was a wasted opportunity for another plane .

Does anybody remember the mini ultra stick ? It was a blast to fly with a bigger motor and 4s .
Brian are you using a mic? And if so which one.
NIIIICE 👌🏻
EFlite had that in a ARF in like 13 it didnt have flaps. i had one i loved it what motor is in it? the old one had a power 32.
$330??? That is the price of a 1.2 Mustang with retracts, flaps, and scale features.
