Oh Karrie, do you drive yourself crazy? I can so relate. I'm 70 now and I have 3 sons in their 40s. We have lived in the same TINY house since 1980. It was built in the late 50s. Not much has been updated. I cannot tell you how many times I have arranged and rearranged everything in this house.😂 I still, after all these years, drive myself crazy trying to make things better. 🤪 We are finally talking about finding a house or condo that lessons our workload. My husband is now 76 so he's having a hard time keeping an acre of land mowed and all the other upkeep for such an old house. I love you and your family and can see ourselves in y'all. You do such a beautiful job with everything. Have fun! ❤😊
DO NOT move to a condo or apartment. You will be at the owners mercy. Stay in your home! You will never be at risk of being put out , even if you own your condo, the costs can change, the owners of the land can change and your life will be uncertain. Please stay in your home stay safe. Hire a kid to mow your lawn and hire a cleaning person to come once a month to deep clean while you do maintenance. Please stay safe!
In 2014 my parents decided to downsize and bought a condo, it has become their biggest regret and they are currently in the process of buying a house again

I have worked in real estate and agree with comments not to move to condo and keep home especially if paid for and can handle taxes. I don't know if finding someone to do yard work or help with what you have hard time with. Especially in today's economy. I would hate to see anyone loose home later in life and having HOA is absolutely a pain. I personally live on 10 acers and have farm and big home and pool and know upkeep can be a lot and I have 4 sons too and 1 still home and helps and my husband.
Always remember love grows best in little houses because it keeps us close together ❤️ 💛 💗
Stay where you are happy. You really have a beautiful home. More space you have more you put in it.

When my house gets too full and I start feeling overwhelmed by stuff to manage I remind myself how great I feel on vacation when I don’t have all my stuff and how I don’t even miss it and then I try to declutter reminding myself how I don’t actually benefit from all the extra stuff. It’s a struggle tho!❤

We are still in our home, which we said was gonna be our starter. We have totally flipped our house inside out and also added a huge studio and a barn. Now that we have grandbabies, we will never move. We just like you wanted bigger, but, of course, grandbabies all freak out the minute we mention we wanna move. All 3 girls ages 11,8,3 were bought home here. So I can never do it to them. This home has memories just like your does. My husband will be able to retire at an early age ! I retired during covid the minute the hospital wanted the jab. I was like, no way. You're doing right by your family your able to have the TIME which you can never get back with them! Hang in there the little house will be a 💯 percent game changer! Again thank you so much for sharing your life.😊💙💙💙

Karrie I can tell you from experience… we’re in our dream house, 2300 square feet on 2 acres and empty nesters. All of the work into two other houses, all of those memories & we made it to our dream & it’s just the two of us. I do not regret our choices but honestly it goes by so fast & you’re busting a** to get bigger and better. Enjoy this time with your kids it’s precious time.

I relate so much when you talk about making decisions with your house. We are super grateful for our house but there are definitely things about it we don't love and some things cannot be changed. If/when to move/build is a daunting decision, especially with interest rates and other factors, and we want to be wise with our money. I love that you make the best with what you have and your house is lovely. I love your channel because you talk about and show real life in a genuine and upbeat way. ❤

I was thinking of all the changes y'all have made slowly to really make your home yours and beautiful. My husband's aunt bought a property where they have events like weddings and they have an outside restaurant named after my husband's grandfather, all of the families have footprints leading to the restaurant ❤ they are just done by shoes, but I love this. Oh man, that little guy gave me baby fever. 😊 so cute. My baby is 6, so I always tell my husband wouldn't it be awesome if my tube's reattached, there are stories 😂 he always says no lol
I clean my island off 3 to 4 times a day. It's like every time I go in the kitchen !!! Hay my birthday was May 22 !! I'm in good company 😊

I love watching your videos, I also think a lot of your viewers can relate to what you are doing. When we were young and in our first house we tried to make it more beautiful and we painted, and bought furniture and I moved furniture around all the time like you are doing. Then we moved on to our second house and then third and so on. We are now in our eighth house but I found after moving out of our first home it was fun to live in different homes, crazy but true! I guess what I’m trying to tell you is don’t be afraid if you want to move, somehow, some way you will be able to do it!

After we moved into our a few years ago. We put in an island. I love it. It really does help! I'm so thankful the big pool is almost ready and plants planted in the garden!
Knox is adorable! He reminds me of our olde English bulldog we had for 14 years! So cute! 🥰 He took so long to potty train. Some dogs just take longer. Y’all are such hard workers.

It's been a very busy week for us.our oldest granddaughter graduated tonight from High school, Thurs, May 23rd....& we had all the Senior stuff to do....I so enjoyed being a part of all this....
But, I can't believe we have a granddaughter that has graduated....
We have 4 grandkids total, in 3 years, we will have a grandson & a granddaughter to graduate, & 3 years after thst...another grandson...

Hi Karrie, I feel you we are in our starter home and though I absolutely love it it feels cramped and not as big as when we first bought it, we’ve spent the last couple years saving and have the means to buy our dream house now but with the inflation (like you I am not a risk taker when it comes to money) and house prices being so ridiculously high I just cannot fathom paying what it cost now especially because if we bought now and house prices were to drop I would die 😅 so we’ve decided to wait for now. Anyhow, I absolutely love your channel, you’re so nice and I can’t wait to see the she shed all done, and the kitchen! Will you be doing a patio backyard makeover or refresh when the shed buildings done? Would love to know what you have in mind regarding the order of your upcoming projects is? Have a great weekend!💛
ST. Augustin does not die in the winter. It goes dormant. Try to keep your grass at higher level when mowing will prevent the sun from scorching the roots. My husband keeps our grass green year round here in Houston. The winter it's a little browner but not dried out and dead.

Karrie, if you put a piece of paper under the far end of the furniture you are moving it will slide easier. Use to move huge file cabinets at work like that.
I have a suggestion for your table! We have a round table too (when it’s not extended) in our open concept kitchen/dining/living space and to give more space I turned the table so the chairs sit like an X rather than a + so it takes less of the walkway and without having the chairs in the way of the window, doors and furniture when someone is seated there.

We started in a 1667 sq ft house and moved to 4000 sq ft. 6 months in I was done 😂. Cleaning this house is exhausting. We are now looking to downsize but want property as well but that is difficult to find here for a decent price but am hopeful we will find something, hopefully sooner rather than later! 😂❤
