Ms. Karrie Lynn, I know you have a sense of humor about it but I found it to be so offensive that someone would have the audacity to use the an analogy of you cleaning your home to polishing a turd. Your home is absolutely beautiful and it's the type of home that so many wish for. You may not be offering the enemy a seat at your table but that doesn't keep them from showing up with their own folding lawn chair! Keep doing what you're doing - - you're in inspiration!

Karrie, your house and everything you have done so far is an inspiration to me. Don’t pay attention to the naysayers. After looking for a while in this crazy housing market we have also decided to stay put. Our home has everything we need so we’re just going to update a little over time and debt-free.

You are setting your family up so well. You’re teaching your kids such a valuable lesson about money too! I love watching you take care of the home that God provided for your family 🩷 Take care!!

You are wise beyond your years. I am 60 and have just figured out the last few years that I should not worry about what others think on what we have. You are right, it is just stuff and it can not come with us. I strive to make my home welcoming and homey. When someone tells me that they feel at home in my house, it is the biggest compliment. I love your home.

Practicing contentment will get you so much farther in life than always wanting the next best thing. God didn't create us to have abundance of earthly things because we don't need that! It's more to clean, more to keep up with, more to consume. It's not healthy. Your home is beautiful and you've been blessed with it. I'm glad to hear that you don't let peoples rude comments ruin your attitude towards life.

  • @Ang363

This video is exactly why I love your channel! Minimising debt and gradually improving your house when you have the money to do so means you have less mortgage stress, can take time off work when you need to, take little family trips, treat yourself every now and then, in short, you can LIVE and not just work to pay off a house you can barely afford. Keep doing you and ignore silly comments. Me and my husband lived with an old kitchen for 10 years, then renovated everything and did an extension. It served our family nicely and we turned a great profit when we sold it 2 years ago and bought our forever home. You can’t compare to friends or strangers online, nobody knows how people really live behind closed doors. My husband has seen seemingly wealthy friends at work not be able to pay for a coffee.
Your house is beautiful already and I can’t wait to see the addition ❤️

Karrie I’ve been watching you for quite a while.. You’re a very talented and determined young woman .. the growth of your channel has been exciting and simply amazing.. That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident!! It takes talent, determination, dedication and the ability to learn and adapt and you’ve got it Missy!! Your ability to grab people’s interest and inspire them through your videos shows in the wonderful feedback you receive and the continued growth of your channel.. yet you remain steadfast in your dedication to your family by living within your means and not getting caught up in the “bigger is better” mindset. You are so right.. you can’t take it with you.. material things pass away but the love you have for your family and the memories you create with them will always be with you.
You’ve certainly inspired me time and time again 😌. Blessings to you and your family

You have a beautiful home. You have done wonders maximizing the space and if I were in your shoes, I'd have a hard time leaving it. Your family has already made so many memories there. I love the idea of moving the refrigerator and extending the countertop space. And changing the sliding glass door to a regular door is also a great idea that would add more space. I wonder if you are still interested in keeping the barn door---it seems like removing it would add additional wall space, maybe for a desk. Also, have you thought about switching the front door to where it opens into the dining room instead of the living room? That may make entering the house a little less awkward---although it's really hard to tell on camera if it would change anything or not. On the front porch you could move the post that visually blocks the front door to the left or right---and if that upsets the balance, just add another post that corresponds on the opposite side of the porch. Living within your means is always the best choice. Y'all are doing the right thing! Good luck!

The way you are planning for your debt free future is so smart, and your current home is lovely. Little Miss Polish a Turd is probably in her 30’s and living in her parents basement. Hi Karrie!
    I watched this video yesterday.
First of all, I am most likely older than your mom(LOL), so my perspective is also age inspired, but here are some takeaways.
    Your home is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
As long as you, your husband and kids are content in this home, then that's what matters.
As a fellow Floridian, I can attest to the rising prices of homeowners insurance, property taxes, and related expenses. Just because you buy a home that you can afford today, rest assured that if your taxes and insurance are in escrow, your mortgage payment will go up significantly.
Finally, as a woman of a certain age, my children are grown and on their own. We have down sized, and are content.
You have realized at a much earlier age, what really matters.
What we have is a blessing, but as you say, none of this goes with us.
I love your videos! Thank you for your inspiring home ideas!❤

I just have to say you have a beautiful home. The bigger the house the more you have to clean. I live in a two story brick older house. That i rent know. Because when my husband passed i moved to the city to be closer to things. Because where i lived in the country was a small town. And it wasn't much there at the time. And i had to drive 45 minutes to go to a grocery store or any shopping and Drs office. And i wish know i lived in a smaller house. This is a remoled home and its nice but to much to try and keep up. And you two are right about living in your means. I have seen many UA-camrs buy big fancy houses. And know they are selling and getting smaller because they can't afford them. Your and Dillon do a wonderful job on your beautiful home.

Karrie, Thank you so much for preaching about debt. My husband and I have always lived by this rule we had an acre of land when we got married. We set a small double wide on the property 40 years ago. Over the years we have had all the inside and outside completely redone . We look back on old pictures and you would never know it was the same place. We built a screened-in porch, 2 car garage and a front covered porch. We are now nearing retirement and so this has been our forever home. It was a little crowded when our 2 girls were growing up but now we have to much room for the 2 of us. We only need 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. If you all stay there you all will be the same way.

STAY WHERE YOU ARE AT!!! Your home is perfect for you and your family. It is much cheaper to Reno your home than buying a bigger one that is probably need reno’s. You are being fiscally responsible and understand that being house rich is way better than being house poor. So proud you and Dillon have reached this realization at your age. My parents raised 4 children in a 1500sqft house with 1 bathroom and 1 living room and 4 bedrooms (I was the only girl so had my own shoe box bedroom as did my youngest brother while my 2 older brothers, who are 6 and 4 years older than me, shared the largest of the kids rooms)- we not only survived but thrived as Mom made a home for all of us to come home to after work and school and where all the relatives and friends gathered. I remember having about 60 people in our home during all the holidays including Memorial Day and July 4th and no one ever suggested we needed to move to some place bigger. But I am 62 and there wasn’t the drive to prove to anyone that we had “made it” as all my parents generation were in the same place financially and home size and having 4 or more kids in 1000-1500sqft.

    Relatable on the insurance.😡
My home owners insurance raised like that too. It's so frustrating! Insurance companies are taking advantage of people and getting away with it. They told me it's due to the cost of building supplies. It's truly ridiculous!
I had a house payment that I knew I could afford. I bought a house that needs alot of work, with the plan of saving to work on it over time... but I can't even afford to do anything to my house now with the rising cost of everything.
So thankful for our home though and our neighbors as well. It's just frustrating trying to do anything. I'm also working toward being debt free.🙏
We will get there Karrie! It's gonna take longer due to the rising cost of everything, but we will get there.
So glad you found a Church that you like to attend!!

I agree with the staying below means. Everyone’s been asking when we’ll get a house. We live in a single wide with an entry addition. It’s been 7 years next month and it’s been paid off for 5 years next month. We’re a family of 5. My boys share a room and my daughter has her own. We have the smaller room and our king bed fits our dresser is in the closet. It works. It allowed me to become a sahm mom this year for my kids for health reasons.
Often times when people think they outgrow a space it’s really they just own too much. We consistently delcutter. Living small allows us to go in more trips do more fun things and like I said I’m home now. We homeschool as well started this year.
Your home is beautiful and you’re making smart financial choices. It’s awesome you paid off your husbands truck! Proper often forget to be grateful what they have. They’re too huge getting the next best thing, or keeping up with the others.

Always excited to see Karrie!!! Now a days people are actually looking to live more simple with the way life and the economy is. Your home is beautiful and you haven't necessarily outgrown it at all. People are always looking to impress and it's just not in your character to be that way. I just know having property is important to you and that day will come. Sometimes when you least expect it. Just keep posting we all will always be here.

We moved last year, actually down sized. But, the brightside is we bought straight out, no mortgage. So, I understand. I have a just enough things in the place we got, if I buy anything out gose something else. So not to be so cluttered. We see everyone has different styles of life, what is good for one is not for all. Love your home, we are doing alot of painting, turning into our home.😊

Karrie, you just continue to amaze me & make me so proud of you. Your stance on finances, and living over your means being wrong is so incredibly refreshing. We all need to learn how to be content with what we had. This attitude of having to have more & the “keeping up with the Jones” way of life is completely foolish. You will dig yourself into a deep pit of destruction living that way. You are very wise beyond your years. Plus, those values will be passed on to your children as well. Yes, your home is so beautiful and warm and inviting. You and Dillon have made a house a home. You’re such an inspiration. God bless and keep you safe. ❤️😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊❤

You should look into the color Smokey Taupe by Benjamin Moore for the cabinets! I almost used it but it was too dark for our kitchen, so I ended up using Oatbran by Valspar. Accessible beige is beautiful as well!

You have a lovely home. With the new addition coming, it’s gonna be perfect for your needs. Having great neighbors is awesome. I have a large home. A large home comes with large cleaning, utilities, upkeep, etc etc. cleaning the baseboards alone in my house takes hours just one floor! I love the idea of painting the white baseboards a beige color, maybe the Beyond paint color like in your bathroom. We have cathedral ceilings in the living room.I hate them! They need repainting. 8k quote! So the ceiling is staying ugly hahah! You have that huge island for cooking prep. I don’t know if I’d move the fridge. You have a good flow, stove, fridge, sink triangle.

You guys are a very smart young couple. So many are running after that big house and fancy vehicle to keep up with the next person. You have a beautiful home and living within your means in this economy when most are losing their homes etc. Congratulations on paying off the truck what an awesome goal to achieve.
