    Man! I just read some of the comments on this and... Some guys are so rude! Alex tried to help you out in 2012 when this stuff was fairly new! Give people a break on UA-cam!

    Nice video with some handy info! Thanks for taking the time to make it!! Only critique is it’s called glow fuel, glow engine, not nitro. Nitro in only a small percentage of the fuel mix any were from zero percent too 20 percent.

      Hi Glen, this is actually a two stroke gasoline airplane with spark plugs instead of glow plugs and runs on fuel mixed with 40:1 redline oil. We don't really use nitro engines anymore, as they left such a mess. Thanks for the comment!

      @@alex1234751 no your not getting my point. I know that your engine is gasoline! What I’m saying is there is no such thing as a “ nitro engine “ it called a glow engine. And the fuel for a glow engine is called glow fuel NOT nitro!!!!!!!! I fly electric motor, glow engines gasoline engines been flying for 40 years. It glow NOT nitro!!!!!! And yes people still fly glow. We have way more glow engine powered aircraft at our club then gasoline engine powered aircraft.

    I didn't understand why fuel line bended like U shape and where it was connected?

  • @Jackson12438

    Sorry Alex, but you should separate everything in your plane and then learn people how to set up all things in plane! In your plane everything near each other - it should never be like that! It's dangerous for your plane and other electronics! For example : your reciever laying near fuel tube and fuel tank, near other a lot of wires and not fixed well - if your fuel wil start leaking - it will damage your reciever and even can make fire! It shouldn't be like that! Move it back somewhere and fix it well with any strap. Also collect and strap your wires all together carefully by the sides and fix not tight your fuel tubes and leave only needed length. That's it! Everything should be accurate! Anyway, I wish you all the best! Clean sky and nice flying! Beautifull plane and good engine! Good luck! Next time will be much better videos, don't worry and be happy! :) ;)

    DISCLAIMER: This was one of the first gas airplanes I built when I was 11 years old. I've built over 50 since then. What else does a bored 11 year old have to do? Yes its a mess, yes the video is shaky, and yes the narrative is horrible. Excuse my mid-puberty self. Thanks for watching and happy landings.

    Thank you for the tutorial. Is it necessary to have a separate battery for your ignition and your receiver? And if you do would you then need 2 separate switches inn the fuselage?

    *GREAT PRESENTATION
    I think you offer a great deal of knowledge to those of use who are interested in the RC Plane and/or UAV and FPV planes
    I would like to ask you some questions please
    1. Does this Model RC Airplane have a extra payload capacity as to place a larger gas tank for 1-2 hours flight?
    2. Is the payload capacity contingent to the type Combustion Engine and the length of the wing ? The strong the engine, the more payload capacity?
    3. what type of engine you have on this RC plane. ? What are the electronic components to needed to connect the Servo to the Engine throttle linkage to the receiver? PWM?
    4. Is it possible to make it autonomous long range plane with the Pixhawk flight controller

      Hi Perez,
      1. This is an acrobatic plane that isn't designed for a payload. I dont think it would handle well with that much fuel. However, there are other planes better designed for things like that.
      2. Size of plane/engine is definitely proportional to payload.
      3. This is an O.S. GT33 gasoline engine. Futaba and Spektrum are great brands that deal with all of the technical radio stuff.
      4. Not sure!

    Do gas planes need a fuel pump? My plane seems 2 be starving for fuel it goes for about 20sec then dies.then i chock it and it starts again.what would u recommend? Cheers

      Grand champ Champ abit late maybe ,
      Hope you’ve fixed it but if not then disassemble and clean carb to eliminate s blocked pilot circuit and check or replace the diaphragm in the carb. This is what pumps fuel into the carb using engine crankcase pressure. This is assuming that what you have is infact a gas/petrol engine. 👌🏻

      I have new plane and have no any dirt inside fuel, tank and carburator, but I'm doing same thing, when I start my engine and it's normal situation, cause' this powerfull engines need a lot of fuel to work, so it should pump some inside carburator camera before it will start to work and pump well. After first start and stoping the engine, when you have enough fuel inside your carbuerator you can close the choke and start your engine after 3-5 turns of blade. So, it should be like that! My expirienced friend explane it for me and now I can give you this helpfull information. Finally, what are you doing - it's normal and right! Don't worry!

    What voltage is needed for the ignition and rx?

    • @alex1234751
      @alex1234751  2 роки тому

      Typically 6V, although higher voltage options are gaining popularity that can run 2s LiPo, which is 8.4v fully charged.

    needed to see how you started it. Your not going to mess with the choke with the engine running right???

    • @epoweredrc
      @epoweredrc 5 років тому

      No you dont mess with choke with the engine running. it only bumps for a sec then quits choke on, after that choke is turned off then plane is started and runs. just like your choke on a chain saw.

    I've always had glow engines and thinking about getting into gas. Looking around on Internet and I see drastic engine price choices O.S. Being more expensive and others like PTE and DLE being a bit better. Why the O.S.? Why not the others? I'd hate to buy something I don't need. Putting it in a 1/4 cub. Also, great job on the video. I'd like to hear a more detailed explanation of how and why you did things. Example, preventing siphoning or options to mount ignition. Thanks.

      Kitten Slapper I hope you've found your path to gassers, unlike electric, gas airplanes has more written article online rather than videos, so research is a bit harder. However much I try to help you, I don't think I can fit them in this comment box
      Ps, OS engine is a subsidiary of.... FUTABA... so now you know why it's so expensive

    • @alex1234751

      Thanks for the comment and feedback! The O.S. is a recognized brand, and they have a great reputation for power and reliability. You are paying for brand and customer service. DLE makes great engines too, although sometimes are known to be just slightly less powerful than the competitor. My favorite engine brands are O.S., Desert Aircraft, and GP Engines.
