Am I in a landlocked state with zero concern about getting hit with a hurricane? Yes. Do I still watch this intently so I know what to expect? Absolutely.
You are a hero to so many. Thank you for sharing your talents!
I live near Charlotte NC and we never thought we would have a hurricane until Hugo hit. It was horrible. There are people here that were without power for 3-4 weeks.
Absolutely true!! I’m watching intently!! So intriguing!
It’s called flooding and it’s a concern for everyone living on land. I seen 100 mile inland parts of SC flood for 2 weeks 2weeks after a hurricane about 6 years ago ( I don’t remember the name, but totally wild). All the water from the north took two weeks to flow south and flooded parts of sc that hasn’t flooded in years of recording
Hurricane Ike tore up Covington KY and Cincinnati. Trees down everywhere. Power out for days. Lots of roof and structural damage.
Speaking as someone from Atlantic Canada, the way you call the storm path heading "just out to sea" while the model graphics behind it show a direct hit on cape breton island (where we had a direct hit from fiona last year and are STILL picking up the pieces), is frustrating. Sure, it misses the US, but its still going to wreak havok in Canada.
As a Myrtle Beach resident I gotta say this is one of the most concerning storms I’ve ever seen. I will definitely be coming back to you daily for updates!
Indeed! We have a little house at OL and it worries me too. Stay safe ❤
Exactly. I'm hoping it turns because this could be Hugo 2.0 if it doesn't turn.
Yeah that swirly boy is no joke, that cold front is the saving grace.
Same im horrified
How's the weather over there now my mom is down there
Please keep in mind that people actually do live in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Hurricane Fiona was devastating to many parts of the Canadian maritime provinces. My mum's from PEI and many islanders were hit hard. It flattened whole forests and advanced the coastal erosion that the island is known for way beyond yearly averages.
Everyone give a round of applause for Ryan and the team. #1 Weather channel for sure. ❤❤❤
it just became a category 4
@@HHyperia_😱😱 that's way too fast!!
I’m on the idea that “they” will speed up the cold front and allow the storm to follow the Hugo path from 89.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌
🤗🤗🤗👏🏻👏🏻
Your coverage during Idalia was incredible. I never felt so in tune with what was going on. Seriously, that was excellent work by everyone involved
Same here, I've never been as up to date and knowledgeable about the weather, definitely a new go-to-channel
Ever since the Kentucky Tornado event of December 2021, Ryan Hall has been my addiction for all weather events. He's great. He'd be calling storms and possible tornado warnings minutes before the weather channel
Same
The only thing I didn’t like was what was going on in the chat… some people are absolutely unhinged and don’t even know it
Im on Long Island, Hurricane Sandy is a storm we all remember. The sort of impossible, very late season super storm that we expected would break up before hitting us, but didn't. This hurricane is looking a lot like another Sandy, so I'm keeping an eye on it.
I know everyone says this but Ryan really is better than the weather channel and any local or national news source at telling the forecast and explaining it in layman’s terms so everyone can understand it.
He is more enthusiastic about weather than most anyone else.
Enthusiasm does not equal accuracy
Because he's not paid to lie.
@@justenhearn5179he's paid to muddy the waters, copy national weather data and sell you his merchandise.
@@justenhearn5179 please tell me who is doing this paying and why
Prayers to everyone in its path!
Uh, I think I would keep my car's gas tank full.
Amen!
Not a single weatherman explains weather like you!! Thank you for keep us calm and not going for the hype like other channels.
they are never given the time or resources to think for themselves, just reading a corporate script.....
I agree. I try watching other maps and data but I usually give it up and thinkI’ll see what Ryan is saying. He’s really good.
It's because they get paid, that dampens things a whole lot
I agree, it's ridiculous that all the weather stations I listen to all say "we can accurately predict three days ahead with very few changes in the 7 day forecast" and have it change dramatically an hour later. Where when I first watched Ryan back in about late August early September of 2019 when he was saying Texas is going to have a deep freeze while I was there. All I could say is bs cause at that point Texas hadn't had anything like that in 30 years and he was totally accurate and said they haven't had snow since 89 and I was watching other weather channels (news outlets) and they were trying to tell people nowhere in Texas has ever gotten snow in its history which is bs cause my cousin talks about how they get light snow out in deep west Texas (El passo) It just really digs under my skin that people say ryan isn't accurate but yet he's been right about way more in the last 4 years then what I've seen my whole life keeping up with the weather.
It's cause weatherman are the many legs of the evil corporation.
If they were honest, they would be telling everyone how, and why they're purposefully creating all these bio-engineered insane storms .
Update as of 11pm Thursday: It is a cat 5 with winds at 160mph. Crazy how all the ingredients came together this quickly.
This is the first video I’ve seen from this man and I am very impressed. Walked away learning far more than anything on the weather channel and it was hysteria-free.
After Ian hit us in FL,I only go off of your info on storms. Thank you for being such a great person.
You called every move it was going to make and NAILED it.
Absolutely! Ever since I found Ryan, I use his forecasting as my go to for accurate weather forecast.
Nice to see his passion for this type of stuff help everyone online across the nation no matter where they live.
I love the fact that you all think Ryan is so good at this stuff, but an actual meteorologist is most times 24 hours ahead of his reporting. For instance, I knew Lee would hit cat 5 status two days ago. All you needed to see was the UL sheer profile and water temps.
In this case I think his forecast is wrong. I think the most likely scenario is the storm being farther out to sea. Why? Because CONUS models are notorious for moving cold fronts too slow as they exit the Rocky Mountains. Once the cold air gets to the lee side of the mountain range, the downslope winds dry out and speed up, forcing the front to move faster. I think Bermuda is in for a cat 2 or 3 direct hit. Hopefully they get lucky and the eyewall over rotates sometime today and has to reorganize.

I'm European but I still love watching your videos from time to time, since I study meterology. Your ability to explain complex topics in a way that non-experts can understand is unparalleled and should be a rolemodel for weathermen everywhere. The EU needs someone like you, who looks at the big picture (the whole continent) and not just one small country.
Generally, we have less extreme weather than you Yankees, but it's gotten worse in recent years, and most people are unaware that, yes, we do get extreme rain, dangerous cyclones, tornadoes etc.
Greetings from Germany, and don't panic, just be prepared!
I'm also European and I've been looking for meteo channels since we started getting weird weather events - I mean, holy shit have you seen Spain these last days?! This channel's language is clear enough for me to understand, and I'm still looking for something more focused on Europe.
Ya'll need a European version of Ryan Hall Ya'll.
I am a memer from Ohio in America last week I had a tornado come within a mile from my house or what it two it hit mentor ohio and hit the mall whitch wasn't severely damaged ,
Like us ohioans say if you don't like the weather wait 20 minutes and it will probably change dramatically, trust me I know
Hello Deutschland, hello my European friends! Good vibes from the US.✌️❤️
Guadeloupe here ... the department above "Fort de France" at 02:00 ... just in front of this pretty baby ...
we just don't want this thing to change its trajectory (and here, we all know that a hurricane is totally unpredictable)
And above all, he must not do like the one who hit Saint Martin .... with an undertone of category 6 ...
At the time of watching this (11pm CST), Lee is officially a cat 5 storm. Crazy how explosively this thing intensified
I'm scheduled for my first vacation in six years to Virginia Beach the week of the 18th, so I'm praying hard this thing stays out at sea.
I'm in Nova Scotia Canada and watching this closely...thankful for Ryan and all the weather watchers. It's nice to be able to watch these this far out. Keep doing what you do!
Definitely concerned for my PEI people.
For sure...have family there aswell.
I was living in St. Andrews NB when just the remnants of hurricane Andrew blew through in 1992. I had water up to the threshold of my front door, and Water street had become literal. No fun at all.
Good luck, and hopefully it misses you folks.
I’m right on the eastern shore in Nova Scotia too. We just finally got all of the tree fall dealt with from the hurricane last year now it looks like we have to deal with it all over again.
Good luck
It is now a cat 4! Crazy intensification
I'm in KY and don't have hurricane worries for myself but I still like to know what's happening. Thanks for showing the weather for the rest of us. Hopefully fall will show up and stay.
Fellow Kentuckian. Ryan is the best.
Please cover this if it is going to hit Atlantic Canada. No one ever does updates or warnings and the damage for most recent storms that hit us was devastating in many areas 😞.
Thanks again, Ryan!! Everybody needs to remember not to panic, just be prepared.
So glad you said that. I was really freaking out until I saw your comment.
But Ryan wants you to panic enough to watch his upcoming thrills!
Man how am supposed to NOT panic watching this??
I like how humble he is in all his forecasting. He doesn't claim to know it all. 😊
I live by Charleston, SC. I hope this trough helps because if not, it looks like the Carolinas are almost in a direct hit. I’m definitely watching this storm closely. Thank you Ryan.
As someone who lives in Myrtle beach and loves storms, I’m both excited, yet terrified to see how this storm plays out
I saw all the news reports about Hurricane Lee and I thought, nope, I’m going to wait for news from Ryan Hall! He’s the weatherman I trust above all others! Thank you Ryan for all you and your team do! ❤
Same here. Ryan is the best!!!
He really is pretty incredible! 🌡️🌦️☀️⚡️🌪️💨
Same LOL I trust he won't hype this thing up and scare everyone
For the last hurricane here in FL my mom from MN called thinking I was going to get killed even though we were 150+ miles from the eye. We saw sunshine thru pretty much the entire thing lol. She was listening to CNN and they made it out like the entire state of fl was going to get clobbered lol
@@Kholoured
My brother freaked out watching CNN also. I had just been taken out of the cone. I saw the huge red blob they had over 3/4 of fl.

Thank you all at the Weather House for all that you do!!
Yes
I’m in southeastern NC and have been through many hurricanes, 95% of the hurricanes we’ve had started just like this, same track, they usually go straight towards Florida, and take a turn north and straight across us,
I'm in CT, and it's been absolutely insane right now. I have never seen storms this bad, hail, no visibility. STay safe everyone.
As a Canadian, seeing that storm system barrel its way North is very worrisome. I really hope it weakens.
It unlikely to remain a major Hurricane that far north, but even a cat 1 can do a lot of damage to that infrastructure 😢
Luckily Canada is far North enough that you'll most likely be alright.
They almost always head up that way I’m from gaspe peninsula, had many come through since a kid, dies out over cold water. All good!
*laughs in Florida
We still had a cat 4 in 2022 so who knows
I’m so excited for cooler weather and rain here in North Texas! It has been a long, brutal summer.
Rain might save some huge native pecan trees here in Central Texas. Other than that.....its all dead....except 4 big mesquite. Baby it's dry.
Worst summer ever, four unbearable months and we are so ready for cool temps and rains.
@@MeadowDay Yes! It’s legitimately been making me depressed. I’m going to be so happy this upcoming week.
I live in eastern Pennsylvania. I watch you on a regular basis. You've been more accurate than the local weather broadcasts
As someone who experienced Tropical Storm Lee in 2011 which resulted in the worst flood in Northeast PA since 1972, then getting smacked again next year by Sandy, I am paying super close attention to this one.
I love that you don't just predict. You actually teach us how to look at weather patterns and how they interact! Can't wait for my bobble head to arrive! Thank you Ryan. I'll be tuning in as usual.
As a Floridian, your channel has been a saving grace for me keeping up to date on when I need to stock up or lay back and deal with a bit of rain. Glad to see so far Florida is a good distance from any of the projected paths. I don't think my New Yorker neighbor can emotionally handle another one
I 100% feel this. I am a native Floridian and we have a lot of ppl from out of state living here who panic
I severely dislike (hæte) you panic buyers
My Connecticut co-worker, with anxiety problems (with meds), is really anxious about hurricanes. I turned her on to Ryan Hall Ya’ll and she said he really helps her anxiety during these weather events.
You're right. Us NY'ers cant sleep knowing theres another on the way. I'm a Tampa Bay transplant that held my breath last year for Ian. Idalia gave a little scare but went further north of us. This one I hope stays out to sea. My home is in Zone A of the evac ranges so I don't feel like I'm dramatic about it but its worrying for the storm surge and flooding
I moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in 2002 and I'm very close to the beach..I've been through so many hurricanes the only thing you could do is be prepared have a generator put up the hurricane shutters anything lying around in the yard put it in the garage..Had a category 4 about five years ago the winds were over 110 mph plus and the water was up to my knees I was walking around at midnight trying to get a video of the storm why it was happening..WOW what a wild ride that was never really gave it any thought as far as anything flying through the air and hitting the back of my head I'd probably drown..Ya good times maybe it will make a direct hit in Washington DC.. We can watch all the evil disappear..👿☠👿🤷♂️🤣
The editing, no fluff and pure injection of information is much appreciated!
Central NC here...thanks for the update Ryan. You're right that it's way too soon to feel either relieved or panicked about Lee. Best thing to do is prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and keep watching your updates (along with NHC and Tropical Tidbits).
Ryan, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you do. I've been paying attention to weather for over 30 years and noting different patterns. At the end of the day, what you do beats my armchair weather forecasting by many, many miles.
I live in Union County, NJ, I am hoping that the storm doesn't hit us and me and my family are prepared for the severe thunderstorms. Stay safe to people who live in New England. Thank you Ryan for informing me
@@JayTubeYT Stay safe, i believe the whole NJ is getting hit by severe thunderstorms right now
@@landspacing0Same in Fredericton area, New Brunswick. Kinda scary.
I live in maryland and I hope it hits us, my family considers those “good storms” or powerful storms
@@landspacing0bruh i live in Staten Island and if it’s gonna end up like when superstorm sandy hit then shit it’s gonna be like 2012 sandy all over again because here on staten island tottenville to midland beach was destroyed by flood surges and it was the worst thing ever because so many buildings destroyed and one was a business from the literal 60s and is now gone completely and there’s nothing left anymore
Ryan can you talk about Jova and Lee merging next week?
Lee has a ferocious look to it. Not the biggest storm but the eyewall looks ominous and the symmetry...this one's got a lot of potential.
I survived Ida back in 2021 when I used to live in New Orleans. Now I’m back in the Midwest and dodged hurricane season. I’m still having a ptsd two years ago
As an atlantic Canadian I'm horrified for what this could do to the Canadian east coast
Uh, I think I would keep my car's gas tank full.
Get prepped !! Food, candles, gas, batteries, supplies , a raft ....
Just started storming in SW VA after 2 weeks no rain super high temps. Temp just dropped significantly. Thanks for all you do Ryan and team. Much love.
Yep, I'm seeing that look pretty ominous from midlo lol
Finally cooling down slightly in Deltaville VA, change is inevitable .
Im very lucky being in Sweden since we dont get these severe types of storms/hurricanes. Very interesting video though and stay safe everyone!
Local weather guys wish they knew everything ryan does. You're the only weather guy I watch. Never stop posting the best content and helping the people in need in these situations!
Ryan could you include Nova Scotia in any future updates?
I live in Toronto but like several people below I love Ryan's folksy but scientific explanations of weather. I wish we could build a replica town in this hurricane's path just to remind us of what sort of devastation would cause were it to hit land as a cat-5.
I do worry that parts of Eastern Canada and perhaps even sections of New England might get hit by a post-tropical storm. You brought up Sandy, but for those in my area with long memories Hurricane Hazel in the 1950s merged with a low-pressure area from northern Canada and did lots of damage, and took several lives in the Toronto area.
There are millioms of us on the Gulf Coast that don't need to be reminded of what thrse storms can do.
I'm pretty much as far east as you can get in Canada...on an island... I really wish we had a channel like Ryan.
Seeing the "Most Unlikely" scenario reminded me of what I heard from my friend (who lives in another state). They said their local weather is claiming that the trough won't form, or if it does it'll be weak and allow Lee to hit the East. Supposedly taking the same path as Isabel.
Thank you for all you do to keep us informed with the weather and this current hurricane. I'm keeping my family aware of the hurricane in Maine.
Fellow Mainer here!

As a Canadian with pretty high anxiety, this channel is absolutely amazing to see is going on farther south that could impact us further down the line, praying for all those who could be in the line of fire of this monster of a storm.
Thank you so much for watching out for us. I have been watching you for a good while and have never caught you wrong. If it were up to me, you would get the best weatherman award.
Ryan, thank you for everything that you do, not only for folks affected by storms but also thank you for taking a super wide look at ALL the weather and how one thing may affect another. I trust Ryan because HE DOES HIS HOMEWORK and holy cow is he thorough! Keep on keeping on ryan, you rock!
Thx for all you do! Simply the best!!
Thanks for all your team's hard work.
Maritime Canada is going to have a bad time regardless. Being pushed out to sea means it will miss the US east coast, but it will trek right over Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
I don't understand why he doesn't even include Canada in his video. I mean we are right there on the map. 😂
... or eastern Newfoundland (the model shown had the storm passing right over the Avalon peninsula).
But there's a lot that can happen in the meantime.
Storms are becoming more and more unpredictably these days. Imo. Thanks Ryan!
Thank you Ryan for the update!
Thank you for this forecast - I live in CA but am visiting family on the east coast in Oct. You do a great job presenting the options and teaching us about weather.

As someone who lives in the northeast I hope it stays out to sea . A cat five to hit us is scary
Thank you for explaining it so that I can understand it. It’s much appreciated.
Prayers for everyone ! Thank you Ryan.
You guys are the best when it comes to keeping the public informed. Thanks
Sandy was a real B. We were in South Jersey and actually witnessed the switch in Wind direction. We got lucky with minimal damage. We live in GA Now but most of our people are still in NJ. This one has me a bit spooked for the upper east coast.
Thank you for showing up the possibilities, hope it helps people prepare sooner
Ryan I just wanna say I started watching your channel in march 2022 and I absolutely love the videos and streams you make I inspire to be like you one day.
Wish we could get some really good rain in east Texas
I live only 2 blocks from the beach here in Myrtle beach SC and since I've been here I've been through 5 hurricanes. Matthew was the worst and we were spared from Idalia, just got some heavy rain and some winds. We've never had any damage yet or flooding. Just some power outages for only a couple hours. Always paying attention to the weather. Really like your work.
Thank you Ry and for keepin' it real 👌
I'm in Northern WV, up in the mountains. When super storm Sandy hit back in 2012, we didn't get the water from it like NJ & NY did, but we got the snow off of it! We ended up with like 36" of snow! The power was out for a couple days, nasty stuff!
I pray this monster storm doesn't make landfall. I cannot begin to imagine how terrifying it is for those people! Prayers for the best outcome and for everyone affected! I love the channel Ryan, thank you!

Followed you during Idalia and your live coverage was useful to me since I'm in the Tampa area. Thanks for the great info and the distraction while the storm blew past. I'll be keeping an eye on your channel for Lee as well.
Ryan, I genuinely appreciate the weather forecast you make. Thanks man!
This is an amazing station! Yeah, superstorm Sandy was the first thing I thought of when he spoke of a trough pushing it out because that could still leave the great amount of wind and water on the edge of the thing.
Lee has gotten significantly stronger just during me watching this. From a cat 2 to a cat 4! Also, we welcome Margot to the mix.🫣
Always a great job forecasting Thank you Ryan
Ryan you just give the best forecasts and even though I am not located in a hurricane prone state it was still interesting listening to you educate us on all the possibilities of what it might or might not do.
