The older I've gotten, the more I realized how sad and depressing those movies truly are and that they aren't really that scary. N9ne was sad because it took place after the end of times for humans and a scientist puts his soul into 9 dolls (9 aspects of humanity.) For Coraline, it was sad because the mother manipulates children into thinking that their parents don't care about them and she traps their souls or something so that they can never leave.
9 and coralline are two of the best movies ever made , coraline is the better movie and Is creepier but 9s animation and story is better and I can’t describe how hyped I was when I saw 9s trailer for the first time when I heard welcome home as it showed them fighting the machines , literally covered in goosebumps best fucking trailer ever
As a kid, 9 really creeped me out and I was never tempted to watch it again. However, Coraline was always my favourite and I watched it over and over again. Until, my sister barfed in the car
9 was ahead of it's time This should have been a Netflix series if this released in the modern day the cult following for it would be massive. A horror adventure series based around the Apocolypse it's like something straight outta Warhammer 40K
Despite how ‘scary’ and ‘dark’ this movie was supposed to be, it was actually one of my favorite movies as a child. So to see once makes me really happy, and even happier to see that I’m not the only one who feels this way
Same! I first watched it when I was like 7yo. I was captivated. Couldn't take my eyes off of the screen the whole movie. Still my favorite movie. to. this. day.
This movie will hold an irreplaceable place in my heart, mind and soul. Thank you, Focus Films, Shane Acker, and others Farewell, One. Rest In Peace, Christopher Plummer.
This movie is one of the greatest animated films I've ever. I watched it when it came out, and ive watched it ever since. It's got great action, drama, tension, horror, hope, loss and comfort. The animation is spectacular for 2009. Its soundtrack by Danny Elfman is nearly flawless. The actors they chose to voice them is perfect. I could not imagine it any other. 10 out of fucking 10. I would recommend this to anyone. And if you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you.
I remember seeing a preview for this on the Coraline dvd years ago and thinking to myself “ I wanna watch that” it’s been like 8 years and I still haven’t seen it but I still wanna watch it
A very deep movie. I like the idea that scientist divides his soul into nine parts. He creates Homunculi (Latin for “little men”) - one of the medieval alchemist aims. Number 1 who is the oldest doll represents the Pope, the church (the old world). Number 9, the light bearer, is the saver, the Prometheus. He brings (fire) knowledge to human kind (8/9 of on person :D). This movie is about about Aristotle's "facets of man", each of the characters represents and different human trait good or bad, and so they need to combine to be able to get anything done. It also represents human kind transition form one age to other as many believe which is happening now. And so on and so on. It is so deep, that is hard to not get amazed and comprehend everything
I was scared of worst movies back when I was a kid. Unless you've seen shit like The Last King of Scotland, Blood Diamond or Trainspotting and actually understand the subject matter, then you have no idea what fear really is
I remember coming home from a family trip and we had a dvd player, we stopped in a Walmart on the drive home and found this in a dvd bin and bought it little did my parents know it was pg13 and I was like 8. But it was honestly one of the best movies I have ever watched. I recently just rewatched it (on the same dvd and dvd player). Still would recommend 10/10.
One of my favourite movies of all time. Doesn't matter if it's animated, it still brings the best feeling a movie could ever do. Its 80 minutes might seem short and not enough, but the movie and story itself is so incredibly well made, you'll be caught in front of the screen for 80 minutes. If anyone hasnt seen this yet, I highly recommend it. I watched it for the 2nd or 3rd time yesterday, and I still enjoyed it as much as the 1st time.
Gaurang Pednekar Do you mean the machine would then be harmless to all humans once it got the human soul? If so that was a quite smart move from the scientist. That, to me seems to be some alternative that most viewers didn't think of. The most common thought would be the scientist creating the 9 rag dolls to destroy the machine, and then "inhabit" the world once again once all threats were eliminated.

I find it funny how while there are untouched, preserved machine parts and war devices being spilt out of conveyor belts around it, the main machine just decides to pick through the rubble and to make machines out of dolls and fans and balloons and those things you blow fires with and animal skeletons.
Just finished watching this and I'm mind blown. This animated movie was a piece of art, an absolute masterpiece. I highly recommend it. Too bad it didn't get the credit it deserves.
I actually watched this when I was quite young because I was completely autistic for Little Big Planet and thought the main character was supposed to be Sackboy.

Tim burton has announced he's making a movie called "deep" which all we know right now, Is something that's supposed to be like 9 so it could be a sequel!
Despite how dark and scary it can be i would say that this is the greatest most underrated movie ever made. I loved watching this as a kid cause I always liked tim burton's movies like corpse bride, James and the giant peach, nightmare before Christmas, Alice in wonderland and Charlie and the chocolate factory. This movie was his best creation in my opinion
Here it is, the 10th anniversary. Shane Acker, if you can somehow read this, I want to wholeheartedly thank you for making this. It’s dreary, gothic world and mechanical monsters have been the epicenter of my mind since I was a kid. No other work of fiction has defined my life in the ways this has. Thank you. Sincerely, C
I remember seeing this trailer when I was a freshman in high school and I wanted to see this film so badly Now after seeing it a bunch of times, I can say this movie is way too underrated Also thanks to this trailer, I fully got into Coheed and Cambria
I actually saw this film for the first time today. 9.9.19. Exactly ten years after its release. lol It's a sad movie, but the message is really beautiful. Incredibly well-made and underrated.
We need more animated films/shows for older audiences that take themselves seriously that aren't strictly anime. I don't know why Western adult cartoons have to all be trippy, crude, offensive comedies.
THE mighty KING there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just that anime movies are allowed to take on adult themes, and be serious while still being for kids. Whereas western kids movies have fart jokes, flossing and are generally silly.
Maybe not the whole song but in my opinion I think a clip would have been perfect when the factory has been destroyed and the big machine was walking towards the puppets out of the smoke.
That's because the trailer is way more focused on the action and dread of the world, the actual movie is creepy and more silent for a contrast, but still it is a great song and makes for an amazing trailer
This movie is terribly underrated. I really wish it got more recognition than it did. Seriously this movie is amazing, and I'd recommend it to anyone interested. I just re-watched it yesterday and I loved just about everything about the movie.
this movie scared the absolute shit out of me as a kid, i couldnt stop thinking about it for weeks but i still loved it. Just watched it as an adult & this one of the greatest movies of all time, super underated.
Even to this day, this trailer gives me the chills. Probably my favorite movie trailer of the 2000’s. Also, Coheed and Cambria’s “Welcome Home” is a perfect fit for this dark and moody trailer.
jeez, nearly a decade later this trailer still gives me that feeling I got when I first saw it as a kid. like my heart is in my throat and I suddenly get a wave of chills, especially in the second half of the trailer. I love it. it certainly gets me in the mood in watching the movie again.
This has to be one of the greatest trailers ever created. Coheed and Cambria just adds so much to the pop in text and those intense moments. They don't make trailers like this anymore.
I remember seeing this in theaters the day it released! Such a great underrated movie! I ALWAYS think of this movie whenever I hear “Welcome Home” by Coheed and Cambria!
That's weird that elijah wood is number 9, and he's also in Lord of the Rings. In the Fellowship of the Ring, there are 9 companions. Coincidence? I think NOT!
+krystal the flying wolf YEST THE FUCK I AM!! and let me tell you that i saw the trailer like once, then the song has popped in and out of my head for the past 6 fucking years, I am so happy to have finally stumbled back on this movie
Underrated af. I remember i was so pumped for this movie at the time. I believe i was 9 at the time and I was so excited for it. Watched this trailer a million times waiting for 9/9/09... I remember just wanting to hear that kickass song again.
Me cuz I recently just remembered this movie because when I was in daycare they would have us watch it when we were bad but all of us loveed it like the bad bitches we were 😌
This movie has always felt like a fever dream for me as a kid I was terrified watching this but I loved it even though I was scared of it but it didn’t stopped me from watching it over and over again that’s basically my childhood but it’s underrated and that makes me really sad
This trailer was so well put together that it got me hyped up to no end to watch this. I have to admit, after watching it, I felt a bit disappointed. Not that it was a bad movie, but it could've been so much more. It felt incomplete, cut too short.
FalconFXICCY The result of a full-length film based on a short with an inexperienced director and a hard deadline, unfortunately. But, like you said, still not a bad movie.
Yeah, I mean the universe, animation, design, and story is all great but it's just the characters and pacing that is really lacking. I mean, the characters are 1 dimensional cliches that the film couldn't get me to care about. I thought if the film had like an extra 30-40 minutes and the characters were a lot better, I think we would have been able to like them and actually cared when they died. The deaths and different major moments in the film are also handled way too fast. Now, the concept of the story is great but I think the execution is definitely tainted by the characters. Is it bad? No. Is it good? No. It's just okay, but it could have been a much greater film with a better director, a better writer, and more time. I would give it a 6/10.
This movie is amazing. Original, I love it so much. It was utterly terrifying as a kid and it still is. I’m turning 18 soon in a month, and this came out when I was 6? I believe. I will never get over this movie. Better than coralline that I watched millions of times. I remember seeing this trailer on the pre dvd ads before it started I believe. This actually got me secretly into metal too LOL. The end was so bitter sweet. The way the characters have to defeat this thing while learning to work together. The realistic fear of this happening in real life. The plot. The designs. I could go on for hours I love this movie so much I wish this movie would get back in the eyes of everyone
i remember going to the chinese fast food restaurant when i was a kid and i saw a guy selling movies outside in his van.... i recall watching the trailer and for some reason i was really really interested in watching this movie.... all i knew was that the movie was called "9".... until yesterday March 9, 2016 i have found the movie.... its crazy how it was on the ninth too AND since march is the third month... add 3 to the 6 of our year...9

Tim burton has announced he's making a movie called "deep" which all we know right now, Is something that's supposed to be like 9 so it could be a sequel!
Song is welcome home by coheed and cambria
One of my favorite animated movies. Far too underrated.

I should rewatch this. I don't remember shit about this.

I only found out about this from coraline
+Astrid098 TheAnimalJamLover same here.
+Astrid098 TheAnimalJamLover they came out the same year
Despite how dark and scary it can be i would say that this is the greatest most underrated movie ever made. I loved watching this as a kid cause I always liked tim burton's movies like corpse bride, James and the giant peach, nightmare before Christmas, Alice in wonderland and Charlie and the chocolate factory. This movie was his best creation in my opinion
Tim Burton was only a producer. This came from the mind of Shane Acker as a short film

I recall watching this as I child and it's so confusing how I remembered this all of a sudden
Omg same but I cant find it on netflix anymore😭

This trailer is engraved into my head ever since I seen it as a kid, just because of “Welcome Home” playing in the background.

I remember seeing this trailer when I was a freshman in high school and I wanted to see this film so badly
Now after seeing it a bunch of times, I can say this movie is way too underrated
Also thanks to this trailer, I fully got into Coheed and Cambria

I was a freshman too watching this in the theater.
Same bro, also a freshman in Highschool when it came out. Lead me to discover my favorite band of all time!
This trailer also made me into a full-fledged C&C fan.
Man you must be 30 now😅
This movie... It is part of my childhood... I can't believe it's been a decade now...
Its as old as me 😭
still one of the best movies
You got that right
Definitely
Too bad it's very underrated though. :/
It was alright.

Exactly ten years after its release. lol
It's a sad movie, but the message is really beautiful. Incredibly well-made and underrated.

I could've watched it the same day but in 2018.
This movie scarred me to the point where I remember it forever
We need more animated films/shows for older audiences that take themselves seriously that aren't strictly anime. I don't know why Western adult cartoons have to all be trippy, crude, offensive comedies.
whats wrong with anime
@@MOcica-iy3we it's for borderline pedophiles that's what's wrong with it
@@GrimmReaper53320 Yea Grave of the fireflies really has that pedo feel to it.
THE mighty KING there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just that anime movies are allowed to take on adult themes, and be serious while still being for kids. Whereas western kids movies have fart jokes, flossing and are generally silly.
“Sometimes fear is the appropriate response” every time I hear 1 say that it gives me chills
Yup Me too ❤️
Still disappointed "Welcome Home" is NOWHERE in the movie
Corey Dusel I don’t think it would have fit in with the overall feel of the movie.

2019, and this is still one of the few I considered one of the best. Can't believe this is underrated. :(
This has to be one of the greatest trailers ever created.
Underrated movie. I hope to see more from Shane Acker in the future.
You said that _9_ years ago.
That's weird that elijah wood is number 9, and he's also in Lord of the Rings. In the Fellowship of the Ring, there are 9 companions. Coincidence? I think NOT!

9/9/2019 now
Decade later and still something I look at with awe. Have yet to see the primordial film that came before this official movie though...
I remember watching this trailer 10 years ago and thinking it was badass and it is
This trailer was so well put together that it got me hyped up to no end to watch this.
I could go on for hours I love this movie so much
I wish this movie would get back in the eyes of everyone
Never "got" Coraline. Always thought it was quite overrated. This, on the other hand, is a genuinely underappreciated gem.
