@@angela.luntian I agree. I have more feminine associated personality traits while most people in my work environment have had more masculine coded interests and personalities. It's important to try and get along with others, especially in a classroom or a workplace, and adopting some personality traits or interests of another group for this reason can be good (as long as these personality traits and interests are healthy and in line with your own moral standards). The real problem comes when you are encouraged to completely change your personality in order to "fit in" or secure your job. Thankfully, this did not happen to me. I think everyone can relate to the ball of yarn at least in some way. That's what makes this video so brilliant. By abstracting away the anatomical identity of the main character, it allows anyone to see themselves in that position and build empathy for others who might feel out of place in their social environment.
When you can realte with a toy. When you can realte with a bug. When you can realte with a dinasour. When you can realte with a robot. When you can realte with a car.

The cool thing is that you can interpret it as being a female in a place full of men, or you can also interpret it as being a non white person in a place with only white people, and the nice little detail of adding a black man at the end makes it work too. At the end it's about diversity.
I love it how she didn’t fit in and then changed herself to fit in but then when she saw someone new it reminded her that she should be who she truly is and not just what other ppl want. OMG YES XD I can shed some light on this though, yarn is supposed to represent that which is feminine, as opposed to the BRO company name and the BRO coffee mugs. But it's WAY more fun to think that they were staring at her because if she was a human, she would have been carrying around a bag made out of treated human skin!
The accessories are made of different colours though, so maybe you can compare it to leather? None of the yarn balls at the end are grey or black like her laptop and suit, so maybe there are yarn-animals in this universe :p

When you can personally relate to a ball of yarn.
I think everyone can relate to the ball of yarn at least in some way. That's what makes this video so brilliant. By abstracting away the anatomical identity of the main character, it allows anyone to see themselves in that position and build empathy for others who might feel out of place in their social environment.
So true
When you can realte with a toy.
When you can realte with a bug.
When you can realte with a dinasour.
When you can realte with a robot.
When you can realte with a car.
If you didn't relate to it then they didn't do their job writing a good story. All stories have to be relatable to be interesting... You're not unique if you think you alone relate to this lol.

If I'm getting this correctly, this short is about female representation and a general level of respect at a workplace, correct? That's pretty cool.
yes it's basically about misogynist tendency in company
Yes, the director of the short film wanted to represent how she felt in a job that was "only for men" (I think so)
The cool thing is that you can interpret it as being a female in a place full of men, or you can also interpret it as being a non white person in a place with only white people, and the nice little detail of adding a black man at the end makes it work too.
At the end it's about diversity.
Its pretty cringe

the ball of yarn having accessories made of yarn would be kinda like us having a bag made of flesh
I had to scroll so far down to find this, glad I'm not the only one
Is the bag made of flesh, or is she made of bag? She screams, for she does not know.
That's terrifying
OMG YES XD
I can shed some light on this though, yarn is supposed to represent that which is feminine, as opposed to the BRO company name and the BRO coffee mugs.
