In real life, A potter's field, also known as a common grave, is a term for a place for the burial of unknown or impoverished people who could not afford marked graves. Enoch is also the name of a man in the Jewish bible who ascended into heaven without dying.
Pottsfield name is a is a reference to a A potter's field, also known as a common grave, is a term for a place for the burial of unknown or impoverished people who could not afford marked graves. so all the skeletons were the unknown or unwanted but in the afterlife they can spend all their time together and happy I find That Beautiful this episode also show a character trait of wirt very well He constantly needs to understand something sov to get to a town to getting help something is his natural instinct but going to Adelaide the witch something that's completely out his real house he is naturally going to be more resistant to. I also love how the towns people were creepy but not evil - I'm going to love seeing your reaction to the rest of the show.
Hahahaha "Enoch sounds like a cult leader name." I forgot that the guy's name was Enoch and as soon as I heard that I was like "of course it's Enoch." There's three whole books of Enoch that were not included in the Bible that have all sorts of wacky stuff so yeah I get the cult leader sentiment.
Over the Garden Wall has some fascinating parallels to Dante’s “Inferno,” the first part of his epic poem “The Divine Comedy.” follows Wirt and his younger half-brother Greg as they journey through a mysterious forest called the Unknown. This journey mirrors Dante’s descent through the nine circles of Hell, guided by the poet Virgil. Each episode of “Over the Garden Wall” can be seen as representing a different circle of Hell, with the characters encountering various challenges and moral lessons along the way. Wirt and Greg’s dynamic is similar to that of Dante and Virgil. Wirt, like Dante, is introspective and often hesitant, while Greg, like Virgil, is more carefree and guides his brother through the Unknown. The talking bluebird, Beatrice, shares her name with Dante’s guide in “Paradiso,” the third part of “The Divine Comedy.” In both works, Beatrice plays a crucial role in guiding the protagonists.
The Unknown is Purgatory. every single characters that appeared to have come from multiple time periods in Earth's history. a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating their sins before going to heaven. Episdoe Hard Times at the Huskin' Bee. Pottsfield and its inhabitants symbolize a state of limbo, where the characters are caught between life and death. In Dante's Inferno, Limbo is the first circle of hell. It is reserved for those souls who died before baptism and for those who hail from non-Christian cultures. The inhabitants of Limbo are not subjected to physical torment. Instead, their punishment is the eternal longing for a divine presence they can never attain.
I think telling him ruins the mystery He won't see the grave stones in the graveyard or the references to death and theorise Like atleast wait until episode 9

This episode is great for rewatches.
Man, I'm just so glad you decided to watch this show! It's always been one of my favorites! And just in time for it's anniversary coming up!
The scenery and town in this episode are very New England. The random turkey really enforces that lol.
I'm so glad you're loving this series! The next episode is my favorite. Not for any particular reason. It's just an episode that appeals to me.
