A super clever detail I noticed: all the animals inside the school are typical domesticated animals and the ones Greg hangs out with are typical wild and I really like what they did with the teacher's father instead of making overly strict and cruel they just made a desperate, sad man who needs help and poor Jimmy being stuck in a gorilla suit can't be fun and but teaching dogs to spell would be a disaster our only advantage is is the we can spell w a l k
And yes that is muscle man's VA Sam Marin is extremely goated.
You are right the teacher's father was played by Sam Marin there is also voice actor for Benson, Pops and Muscle Man
That’s crazy, I’ve loved both shows dearly for as long as I can remember and I never noticed this!
Awesome to still be learning new things about the show 10 years after release

"Chapter 3: Schooltown Follies" finds the group discovering a schoolhouse filled with animals. The school teacher, Miss Langtree, has an obsession with her lost love, Jimmy Brown. She conveys her heartache through song to her class and the travelers, fixating on her longing rather than instructing her pupils. She's the personification of lust and the focal point of the episode.
This obsession distracts Langtree enough that she loses track of her other priorities and responsibilities, prompting her father to do the impossible to keep the school afloat. Eventually, Langtree and Brown are united at last (after a dreadful three days apart), able to celebrate their love during the benefit concert that inevitably saves Langtree's neglected school from its closure. Over the Garden Wall references Dante's Inferno through the character of Miss Langtree, who spends the entire episode yearning and never acting on her wishes. Around her, the world she knew collapses.
In Dante’s Inferno, the second circle of Hell is dedicated to the sin of lust. Here, those who succumbed to carnal desires are punished. They are eternally swept up in a violent storm, symbolizing the chaos and lack of control that lust brings into one’s life.
Hi
i gotta be honest miss langtree's breakup song is better than 90% of things on the radio
You listen to the radio. I don't think anyone did that anymore lol
Miss Langtree's haircut and outfit implies that she lived in the late 19th century, this make sense. Female teachers often wore long dresses or skirts with high-necked blouses. These outfits were typically modest and conservative, reflecting the societal norms of the time. A common ensemble might include a blouse with a round collar, a long skirt, and sometimes a pinafore or apron over the dress. Both male and female teachers might wear accessories like hats or bonnets, especially when outdoors. Women often wore their hair up in a bun or under a bonnet, while men might wear bowler hats or top hats. The character herself could be a reference to Beatrix Potter, a Victorian-era author who wrote and illustrated books with anthropomorphic animals, including the Peter Rabbit books.
the exciting Thanks for writing the
Potatoes and Molasses has been stuck in my head for 7 years.
It's just a catchy song
Watch Amphibia after Over the Garden Wall.
This episode is kinda one of the weakest, imo.
