If you want a cultural reference point re: Cetera’s oufit, check this out - one of Robert Redford’s best acting roles: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Electric_Horseman. I went to UNLV in that era and this is exactly what was going on - country/disco fusion. Thank heavens Chicago didn’t fall into that trap, other than clothing-wise! 😅
What a great performance by Chicago and the late Great Terry Katy. Do you have "a Hit by Varese" from this concert? My version is kind of fuzzy. It would be great to see this version of Varese.
The current Chicago lineup is a pretty good tribute band that happens to have some original members of the group -- nothing more. At a certain point the band really doesn't exist anymore, except as a way to make a little money for the current lineup. But I don't feel too sorry for Cetera and Seraphine -- I imagine that royalties from back catalog sales aren't anything to sneeze at. I saw them perform on their tour for 16, and considered it a privilege. Too young to have seen TK.
This is going to sound like heresy to fans of The Fab Four, but Chicago (at least on this night) actually out-Beatled The Beatles on "Got to Get You Into My Life."
I don't know why this performance has me glued to this video. Can't take my eyes off of him. Every movement he makes SPARKLES like diamonds. He is MORE than just a great singer/songwriter/bass player. Peter is a real performer. You feel he is singing directly to you. 🎶❤️🎵
@@MaeMee5 I agree. Peter is extremely talented and it shows in all of these videos. Not only is he extremely good looking (and still is at the age of 75) but his stage appeal is over the top. He has a natural talent and just stands over and above the others. He did it without being a stage show-off and that is what makes him so special. This video is just one of his many great performances. Another great video is the live in Tokyo concert from 1972. There are several videos from that show posted on You Tube. He was outstanding in that one too.

I honestly think Peter sings this classic Beatles song better than Paul McCartney did. One of a kind!
Peter really gives this song his all! Does it better than his idol Paul. 😍
No way
Priscilla Schroeder. Oh yes !
Los originales y su mejor tiempo los que siguieron no tuvieron ese sonido especial del Chicago original
Terry Kath gave this band the edge
ha.... Peter is really putting on his Ozzy Osbourne face at 1:13....lol
Yo soy el hombre que te quiere con todo el alma que más dice tu canción mi grupo favorito y Peter el mejor
Def. the cocaine era tempo....i prefer the 68-72 live versions ...especially Terry in those shows!!!
When I saw them do this Chris Pinnick was on guitar and Peter's hair was short and slicked back. Kansas somewhere.
Dedicado para una persona super especial
Wow concert the super band chicago
This is going to sound like heresy to fans of The Fab Four, but Chicago (at least on this night) actually out-Beatled The Beatles on "Got to Get You Into My Life."
🥰
Cetera swiveling his hips like a hula dancer in his Glen Campbell inspired suit.
@@sharonlaforest6134 Tokyo is the one where he is dressed in some pinkish outfit and the camera is from Peter's backside shaking his bootie in rythum to the song. LOVE IT 🎶❤️🎵
@@MaeMee5 Priscilla: Please see my post further up. I have the most INTENSE crush on Peter just from these videos. But I have trouble with the present-day Peter Cetera being the same person as the "Chicago" Peter Cetera. Maybe it's the length of his hair, I don't know. But I only have an intense crush on the Peter Cetera from Chicago from the 70s! And this has been just in the past week or so, and I'm 65! I can't explain it, and like you, I can't take my eyes off of him either. SO glad we have these videos to watch over and over and over and over! Thanks, Peter.
@@jeanniemccarthy8135 WOW! I literally thought I was the only woman who feels just like you! Your comment expresses the exact feelings I have for Peter. I am 70 in 2 wks and had a slight crush in 1970. Then I lost touch with the band as I got married, had children etc... But NOW I am heavily into the 70s Peter. And YES, it is his hair, his clothes, and his Passion. I even went for weeks thinking about him all day long and always had one of his songs in my head. How can we have a crush on a person who no longer really exist? The current Peter now is OK, but my intense feeling for 70s PC is still here. I really miss the YOUNGER Peter.
Los geniales beatles o los geniales muchachos de Chicago
questi erano i grandi chicago prima che diventassero un gruppo di easy music...grande danny seraphine ,e terry kath...
This was the Peter Cetera I wish I was in a Disco band faze! In my opinion where he ended up a disco band would have been ideal!
Without Terry Kath though it just was over!
Actually, I believe it was December 1, 1977 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
No, they played the Oakland Coliseum in December 1977....I was at the show.
But this video was not from Oakland. The description is probably correct.
I wished Peter would sing the Beatle's Here, There and Everywhere, that would be awesome to hear.
@lamarravery4094 💯The Beatles are one of Peter’s all time favorite bands!
@@Lamb716He also loved the Beach Boys, two great bands, but Chicago is my favorite.
@@lamarravery4094 👍👋🤩
Peter Cetera did not get too many bass solo, but on this night, he showed he could smoke on bass guitar.
This version way more popular than the original by Steve Winwood. This was the first version I heard when I was a kid.
4EVeR live the original rock group CHiCAGO!
TERRY KATH
TheEternalNow And PETER CETERA !!!!!!
Chicago was really coked up here!
Miss you peter
En especial Peter
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dare I say, McCartney who? #cetera
Chicago is a cover band ? Well done 👍👍
VERY COOL THOUGHT,but more like a very good college band cu z they're so advanced.Didnt many attend De Paul music school?
only the horns
Cetera must have been shopping at the Wal-Mart "Elvis Collection" department that day.
Venom101002 Cetera once referred to 1975 to 1977 as his Elvis period. Overweight with gaudy stage outfits.
hahaha
How Cute ! I think he got it at Sakowitz or Macys ! He was surely Well Decked Out for that Performance !!!! ???? ~~~~ The Rhinestone Cowboy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Venom101002
. I don't think he gave a carp hat anyone thought. His wallet was way filled......
.. Get real
I love the outfit though. I think the rock and roll thought of that time period for a lot of bands was: "If you really are a rock star then look like one"!
Excelent singer peter cetera
OMG!
I acually prefer this version more than the Beatles. Sure the beatles were great but nothing to Chicago.
