- Continuamos recordando a Terry Kath a 30 años de su muy lamentado fallecimiento. Por las limitaciones de tiempo, dividí el encore en 2 partes: I) I'm A Man y II) Danny's drum solo & Free.
This is one of the few times we get to hear a bass solo which shows that not only is Peter Cetera a fine singer, but a gifted bassist too.
Not much is said about Robert Lamm - he had a great voice & sounded much older than he was. He was a fantastic organist & pianist. Dont get me wrong, I loved Terry & Peter but Robert was an important part of the whole Chicago picture.
And the fact that he wrote more that half of their songs!
This ladies and gentlemen is rock, a lost form of music. Wedon't have anyone even close today. Wll done CHICAGO!!
Love to watch Terry! The master of playing rhythm and lead guitar at the same time, amazing!
Just amazing, Kath playing that rare Les Paul Pro and at 1:52 forces a bit of feedback from it, tunes a string, rips off a slick Kathesque riff and flawlessly gets to the mike to start the first line. A real pro... thanks for sharing
To whoever worked the camera from :40 - 1:40 - THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! 🎶💋🎵
Yesss! What a Man!!!! The big thing😍😋🥰😘😏🔥👌🏻
@@karol7716 😜🤭
I was gonna say the SAME thing til I saw your post with the exact thing I was gonna say... OMG. Favorite part of the clip.
Oh yes yes yes. I agree! 🔥🔥
Peter is the main attraction in this video. He was quite the rocker then and he looks so good with that long hair and beard. Chicago was not the same after he left.
SHARON LAFOREST So sorry to not agree; the group was never ever same after Terry Kaths sad and accindently death. The band had a more free way of playing, before they changed to play the hits they created from around 1980.
Peter is a master booty shaker. 😍
Priscilla Schroeder , he is so darn cute !!!!!!!💜
Delicious 😋😍😍🥰😘😏🔥🍑
Love to watch Peter groovin’! He moves sooo good!
It is definitely shown that Peter is the MAN!!!
This is for md65000 (from 1 year ago).
The note that Pete sings on "content" is the highest of the notes that the horn section is singing in the background at that point.
really? VIII - oh thank you great spirit, XI, uptown. There are many great rock tunes after VII. Every review of chi ends with they were great until...period dejour. The fact is they are still great! You just have to listen without bias which is not easy for a lot of people.
Peter hit an amazing Eb above high C on that first "I'd rather be content". I think that's the highest I've ever heard him sing in full voice (i.e. not falsetto).
Saw them many times in 70s. As great as Pete was in studio, some of the music is actually a bit out of his normal range; thus, he could be hit or miss live. Searching so Long is a case in point; Lowdown is more his pure range.
Gregoryt700 no one can hit those high notes like Peter in the studio or live !!!!!!!
I love You Peter😄
+Anna Guz OW!
I love you Terry!!!
If so he moves for everything ... wow!
Check/see the VH1 "Behind the Music" video documentary. It was apparently about Danny trying to help manage the band trying to protect their interest and the band members just wanted him to "be the drummer". Still....I think it was a mistake firing him.
Peter starts playing and Terry wasn't ready.
Peter wants to get to Byblos ASAP, I guess.
I think Terry was the best singer as well as a guitar player 😄
Love this
Like most bassists, Peter Cetera got few opportunities to solo, but when he did, as on this night, he was fantastic.
Terry Kath was Chicago. He was awesome. But with all respect to Keith Howland, Dwayne Bailey was an amazing guitarest, the last time i thought Chicago sounded like the originals. I still like them, but wouldn't go again to see them. They are like a Vegas act now.
More cowbell, please!
I can barely hear the music for looking at Peter's fine a$$! But seriously, he was on fire at this concert. His voice was so strong, and the note he hit at 2:33 was brilliant. He's a fine bass guitar player, too! I prefer the long haired hippie Peter to the "Glory of Love" Peter any day!
Tooma: Couldn't agree MORE about his fine a$$ !! Good Lord !!!!
Oh ya- his a......s was mighty fine but Terry was always the guy I looked at in his “cowboy suit” (denim pants & shirt) & those size 13 white ostrich boots!
Because after VII they lost their souls.
Japan was a huge fan base for Chicago until it released "Harry Truman" in 1975. They should have thought that one through a little more.
HarryTruman is a strange song...it grows on you. I am actually from KC Mo and Harry is all the rage here.
oh, I'm sorry, I had heard that and assumed it was true. Thank you for setting me straight. I'd rather know what really happened.
Peter stopped playing bass because ...?
No, on both counts. He wasn't into drugs and Tris wasn't "the backup drummer".
And for what reason did they fire Danny again?
Yum keep shaking your bootie peter cetera
He wasn't reliable, because he was wicked into drugs. Tris had already been the backup drummer at that point anyways.
He wasn’t into drugs.
