Very Good!! I thank you for this very helpful video! You mentioned that you were a little "late in the game" getting this video posted but you're not nearly as late with this helicopter as I am, LOL! I've had the H135 and the payware H145 installed since at least February 26th 2023 and NEVER, EVER even started either one! I've been an FSX sim pilot for almost 10 years and then finally installed MSFS back around October 2021. Of all the aircraft I've owned, I preferred the helicopters. I had an opportunity to make a short flight in a real-world Bell 206B years ago, (under the close supervision of the owner/operator). Anyway, I wanted to fly the H145 in MSFS back in February but as I got to the control binding arrangement, I became impatient with the instructions. I only had an hour or so and I already lost half of that time trying to get my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS configured. I don’t recall what the problem was but whatever it was, I just didn’t have anymore time to mess around with it so I closed it and went to a different helicopter. Now, I’m going to try to give some time to this again but I’ll start with the Freeware H135 first. Back around May of 2023, I updated the H145 and H135. Then yesterday, I opened the Hype Operations Center and updated the Hype Operations Center desktop program. The H145 I had installed was at build version 406, (the "Recommended" build). But when I checked the 145 in the desktop Hype Operations Center it said that there was an update for it. I guess it was referring to the Beta build. I didn’t plan to update the 145 to the Beta build but somehow, I accidentally clicked the "Update” button and that immediately brought my H145 to BETA Build #412! I think I may be able to get the 406-build version back but I thought I'd give the Beta version a try first. Still, before I even open the 145, I’m going to setup and fly the H135 so thanks again for a very helpful video! Rich, PS BTW: It appears that the H135 also has a “Hover” option in the Auto Pilot selections. If it’s operational, could you have selected that and then reduced the collective slowly to land? I understand that you wanted to land it manually, but I’m just wondering if that Hover option would permit a manual descent while maintaining position.
Thanks, makes me happy that you enjoyed the vid :) I also come from FSX and enjoyed the DodoSim B206 a lot, was a great flying experience even in the dated sim. Regarding the hover AP mode, iirc I tried it out once and like with the H135 flight model in general, the AP inputs were very abrupt and erratic. I recommend approaching the hover manually and then engaging the AP. I think that no manual control inputs are possible in that mode. But again, I might be wrong ;) Cheers and have fun flying!
Thank you, that was nice and helpful. I can't get the copilot to disappear, clicking on his seatbelt does nothing. Also the EPU never appears either. Don't know what I am doing that is different to you, downloaded the latest version and this is what I get I guess. Any ideas?
Thanks, I'm glad you like the vid :) Regarding these issues, sorry but I can't help there, for me it worked normally and also I don't have this helo installed anymore. I read that there are issues recently with the Hype Ops Center/ download etc.
The way to do it is to decrease collective and pull up on the cyclic a bit. That's how you slow down, it takes some practice. Descent rate in helos shouldn't exceed 1000 fpm, closer to the ground 500 maximum.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe oh ok you mean the vertical speed decent rate 500 maximum? and then you can use the auto pilot altitude minus beep trim to lower it right? Or does that even work can’t figure out how to bind the deep and collective trim to my alpha prime flight stick.
I'm sorry, but this heli don't support the new helicopter flight model.. It's a big fake simulation of rotorcraft. Surely, it's not the best.. For the freeware, the mosquito or the R22 fly much more better than this, in my opinion.

True, I'm also not a big fan of the flight characteristics. But still, for freeware it's really good in general.
The colors of MSFS scenery, especially the green color tones, are so awfully unrealistic over-saturated… 😕
