    Hi! you definitely lifted up my spirits. I’m currently an RBT and I have a 3 yr old and they are classified as a hard case. I have to keep reminding myself that their progress is not going to happen in 1 day but keep being persistent and consistent in their learning. She is my youngest and I’m used to working with 6+ yr olds who are more towards higher functioning. So I have to change my mindset but as I said, you’ve definitely motivated me to keep going. ☺️

    Newbies to the RBT/Mental health world, please do not give your phone to clients/kiddos. It can be risky for you as they will have access to whatever info. is on there. Most importantly, it can cause new maladaptive behaviors to be created that can impact their progress.

I decided on EMS (currently working towards my EMT cert), but I started researching other "entry-level" medical positions and RBT really stood out to me. Watching this video reminded me how much I miss working with kids and enriching their lives in a direct way... it warmed my heart. @@jojosplace The first thing was I thought it was going to be more structured one on one with the client, but it was more of running around going to different sensory rooms and redirecting a lot of their behaviors. And for the younger children, a lot of it was chasing after them. It takes a lot of patients. There are going to be a lot of tantrums and the kids having a hard time following directions. The biggest thing you have to know is that each kid is different and their needs are going to be different. You basically have to think of it as you have to teach the kids everything from the ground up pretty much.

    • @hahaits
      @hahaits 3 роки тому +4

      (2) like teaching them how to eat, how to ask for things, how to socialize, etc It was just too much for me to handle. Also, its a lot of rewarding behaviors to. I mostly shadowed with the younger kids, so I am not sure about the older kids.

    Hey there! I've been watching your vids, super helpful info. I just finished my 40 hr cert and exam, I have a job lined up at a clinic and am just waiting for a new client so I can start working. I have a lot of questions, mostly I don't want to be in a clinic setting for long, I really want to be independent and be either in home or in school. Can I schedule a Zoom meeting with you for some info and chatting?

    Hi! thank you for sharing these videos because they are super helpful!! This may be a personal question but I hope it is okay to ask. Are you going to continue your education (graduate school)? If so, do you how that will look for you and your job? because I am planning to get a job as an RBT (in the future), but I also want to go to graduate school. So I just wanted to get some insight on how that would work. Thank you!

    Hi am applying for the Behavioral therapist position. The company states they will train to become registered. I was wondering if it's best to already have taken the 40 hour training and even CPR or BLS prior to starting with any job for better chances a higher pay rate.
