Cornfed Pig Is A Playful Polymath

- Опубліковано 4 гру 2021
- This is a hero tribute video consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring an admirable hero from my memories, noble pig detective and modern day renaissance man, Willibald Feivel aka Cornfed Pig (voiced by Gregg Berger), from the 1990s show Duckman. He proved to be an interesting hero to me because of his humble nature and devotion to professionalism despite his variety of crazy experiences. His fierce devotion to his silly boss/friend Duckman was also touching as well as his willingness to do whatever it took to help.

Cornfed is what Brian from Family Guy thinks he is.
lmao, this got me good.
I love that despite Cornfed's hyper competence in nearly all things, Duckman is the one who grounds him. You really get the feeling that he's a couple steps away from turning into another member of the psychotic society that torments Duckman.
It also makes their rapport legendary. They may not be equals but they sure as hell get along really well most of the time.
i do do wish they played that angle a little more as well as duckmans street wise nature cornfeds been around the bock a few times but duck man has been under it
I've never seen this show up to this point as this randomly showed up in my recommendations. You're saying Duckman is actually wise and not a bumbling, selfish idiot as we see in these clips?
@@ryangainey94 yes and no when he actually bothers putting in the effort he can be genuely wise and smart his problem is no one resects him so he dosn't try very often
@@ryangainey94 Sort of. The easiest comparison I have would be John Constinintine. Someone who is actually a very competent detective but gets in the way of themselves by clinging to past trauma, hatred for humanity, and overall willingness to imbibe on... anything.
@@ryangainey94 Duckman is a very bright and emotionally sensitive person at his core, but the death of his wife and decades of society absolutely destroying his goodwill have turned him into a lazy and hedonistic person that is so vulnerable to hubris it could be it's own Greek tragedy.
Thus is the unique comedy of the show. We don't root for Duckman because of what a piece of shit he is, but we also know where Duckman is coming from because the shit that pisses him off is the stuff that pisses us off too.
There's a great example of this in an episode where Duckman gets committed to a psyche ward and sufficiently puts together monologue after monologue about how society's need to constantly put medical pathos onto people's frustrations ultimately undermining the real issues the common person in society has, and the only way he gets stopped is once the wardens start to play into his ego.
In this instance, Cornfed doesn't actually rebuke any of Duckman's points. In fact he kind of emphasizes them by deconstructing their psychology with logic.
These situations are uncommon, but its the reason why Duckman and Cornfed aren't equals. That just means their friendship is more important to both of them than whatever skills they happen to have.
Cornfed is great, because while he’s extremely skilled, experienced, strong, smart, and has a lot of fortune in his life, he’s also had a lot of different struggles over the course of his life, like fighting in war, getting shot twice, having to pay off college debt, and everything. And he’s not 100% logical either, he still gets impulsive and makes bad judgements and calls. He’s got depth.
I like how you list paying off college debt on the same level as going to war or getting shot twice lmao
@Burn_Angel they did say "different struggles" so they're not saying it's all on the same level. That's why they said "different struggles"
@@yikesyourchunkyhostilityha2321 I mean paying off College Debt is definitely the worst thing on the list tho, but death to the author and all, interpret however you like
Story of my life.
Duckman was truly ahead of its time, way before Bojack Horseman and South Park.
Ignorant fanboy
@@CSM100MK2 how is he ignorant
People compare it to those shows but I don't see. Duckman isn't as vulgar as South Park
and the character isn't in as deep of a sink hole as Bojack.
There isn't really anything like Duckman
It's not even like south park but bojack, good comparison
@@alchemistofsteel8099 I'd say that Bojack and Duckman are pretty much "life is meaningless", but on other sides of the coin.
They predict how you need 10 year’s experience to get an entry level job duckman was truly ahead of its time
Ahead of its time or literally just the same problems happening over and over and over
Man I forgot how hilarious this show was. And Cornfed is awesome. Everyone should have a best friend/partner like him.
Cornfed is the "smartest" character to ever be written, idk who's the voice actor but damn the way he says everything while having a straight face is crazy to me
Gregg Berger, if you know transformers he is Grimlock
@@bruhdiconwassi5074 I love the contrast between Grimlock and Cornfed. The guy that voices a loud alien robot dinosaur that speaks in broken sentences is also the guy that voices the incredibly articulate and reserved pig detective.
He sounds like max payne!
@@The_OwO_Shogun James McCaffrey. RIP Legend
Cornfed wrote a book called "So You Want to be a Mailman" but he still needs a regular job, and that unironically makes sense.
Cornfed was loosely based on Twitch from Spawn if I remember right.
Both are extremely competent detectives working for rude and crude misanthropes.
No, he's a parody of Joe Friday, the main character from Dragnet, which was an old police procedural.
Friday had the same gruff monotone delivery for virtually every line and it's been parodied in many pieces of media
@@casanovafunkenstein5090 Yooo you're right. That's the same char Twitch was based on! Neat!
My mom used to let me watch Duckman when she found out I had watched it before because she figured “If I couldn’t tell it was for adults, its probably not bad.” To this day I cannot recall a single joke that didn’t go over my head lol. Literally a joke would happen and I’m just like :D cartoons!
Cornfed is an S Tier character in all of fiction
"I realize that its the person who can cheerfully accept the madness of this world that is truly insane"- Cornfed Pig
I don't know why but the relationship between Duckman and Cornfed feel underrated.
When corny revealed his glorious afro has the same energy as when finn reveals his flowing golden locks.
i have a weird fascination for characters who are well traveled who have done a lot in their lifetime. its odd but its just such a neat trait for a character who seem to have more going on to them then what we see.
never watched much of duckman but from this video its obvious cornfed has lived a forest gump-esque life. its super fun to piece together the origins for such characters and make little theories in your head on what their life was like.
Companions in games that just seemingly know everything are the best, too. Like Cassidy in Fallout 2
Love this, any other examples? Reminds me of the main character in Big Fish
Cornfed is a genuine badass
I never thought I’d ever have a favorite pig!
My favorite pig is the one that I'm currently eating 🐷 🥓🥓
Pig from back at the barnyard: i was a mail man too at one point!
Piglet: oh bother I think I should get a job too so that I can pay for the honey that Pooh needs.... The horror movies that I was in didn't pay me a lot...
Pfff
Marriage sneaks up on the best of us.
Cornfed is a man of all seasons
This show went places that Bojack Horseman never even dared to
They’re completely different shows made for totally different audiences. The only thing they have in common is that they both have animal characters.
@@Luschanisn’t that show absolute dogass also?
@@sgtkeroro2821 Yes, absolutely insufferable.
Leave it to youtubers to have trash taste. I'm not even a fan of the show but I'm aware that Bojack is more than a comedy cartoon
Quick google says it's won 15 awards out of 43 nominations
@@Leto_0 credential fallacy, try again.
Gregg Berger, always a treasure.
Literally Grimlock
His last name is burger lol
Gotta love that when duckman is tased, we see that he’s literally a bonehead.
9:06 "Beef Klasky and Potatoes Csupo" is such a big-brain move. This show was incredible.
I like cornfed He is a very witty character< he is a good straight men in times when his friend is in trouble he is there to defeat him.
unfortunately, he was keeping a secret from Duckman that his wife is still alive, and don't know about until the last episode of the show.
Duckman and Cornfed are the epitome of opposites attract, but in a purely platonic way.
"On trial for heresy," "kidnapped by media critic," "made dictator of South American nation," "held prisoner in asylum," so every single one of his emergency contingency plans actually ended up being used.
Why does he sound exactly like JC Denton
He never asked for this voice, but it's the voice he has.
My satire is augmented
sticks and stooooones
Maybe you should try getting a job
@@boogietunt6862
Bullshit reply. Wow.
"No charges, its enough punishment being him"
Cornfed "Bend over, grabbed the desk and grit your teeth.
Duckman "Wait a minute does it say we have to do this?"
*An Awkward pause moment*
Cornfed "Never mind"
Lmao
What I like most about this series is that it's dialogue driven comedy like some later series, but it's not pretentious about it. You never really know what it satirises and you never really know whether you should be offended. They actually made an introspective episodes about the very concept in where Duckman explains it's good humor offends so that it might make you think *why* it offends you. The whole series coasts effortlessy off that concept.
Sure it's not a perfect show by any stretch of the imagination, but it does make you think about the relentless avalanche of juxtapositions it keeps throwing at you.
awww it all wrapped up so nicely.Cornfed is such a good loyal guy.
Cornfed what an amazing character....
And that voice...it gives me the honey glows something awful.😍
what's wrong with you@@saphireroze001
@@LightishRed What’s RIGHT with you?
This is my first ever experience with this show and i already adore this man, wtf.. and George Costanza is my fav television character so that was a huge plus hearing that voice come out of that duck
I like how Cornfed being sane is what makes him a genius.
I guess it's finally time for me to binge Duckman
We all need a cornfed friend.
Just binged the entire series, it was really good!! The thing that suprised me the most was how much continuity there is. No spoilers but make sure to watch every epsode in order.
18:01 I appreciated that joke
God damn. I never watched this, didn't seem my style. But Cornfed over here is changing my mind.
I love what you do so much man, the way you are able to focus on and collate the best scenes of a character, it's either hitting me with waves of nostalgia or introducing me to something I missed out on.
..y'know, you just can't get a good Beef Klasky and Potatoes Csupo anymore, everything's just ultra-rich vanilla ice cream instead.
He easily is one of the best overpowered characters, can match Shaggy's strengths hand down.
Wow, I forgot about this show. This era of Comedy Central will forever remind me of being in high school, during summer break. It was the only time of year when I could stay up late on weekdays. My parents would be asleep, and I would smoke weed out my window and enjoy all these late night Comedy Centralcartoons
The voice actor Greg burger also voiced Grimlock in the transformers G1 series.
Cornfed really is what you get if Grimlock and Nightbeat switched sparks.
😦 that's a strange mental image
"hell of a first day" took me OUT 💀
Thank you for uploading
Cornfeds' voice is addicting :)
I've got fond memories staying up past midnight to watch this show back when I was in elementary school
You never disappoint man yhank you
I didn't know this show exist
CORNFED, HARBINGER OF THE RIZZTURE AND BRINGER OF THE END
I always like seeing videos of this type.
the stuff they wrote back than was wild. she dead ass asked him if he had time for aquikey
I just seen that scene before I read this 😂
I cannot unhear JC Denton.
Truly a gentleman and a scholar
Ah this show brings me back. Godamn the 90's were so GOATed. Everyone pretended life sucked, but actually it was so lit. Wasnt until America started to imploded in 2008 that i realized my grandpa from the depression was right about everyone taking everything for granted.
This made me happy, thanks ❤
so awesome! it been many many years ago since i seen a duckman episode
I love the sounds of cornfeds footsteps
i love it when i get recommed this channel
You sure this was a kid’s show? We literally see Cornfed get shot twice. And bro has UNSPOKEN RIZZ!!
It was on Spike I believe or some network like that
It wasn't a kids show
Who said this was a kids show? It's like saying Family Guy is a kids show because it's a cartoon, this aired during prime time, they just didn't stoop to swearing and every character being an asshole.
@@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire I never seen this so idk. But it’s pretty dope tho
@@yaboigamerdouji7573 oh dude it's worth giving it a shot
This played in an adult time slot. Klasky Csupo didn't start on the kid stuff until this show got canceled
Just saw this video a few days ago since it seems like the Great Algorithm(tm) has chosen it to be shown in people's recommended, but I've been subscribed for a while because I enjoy your other videos like this one. The editing, the composition, it perfectly embodies the idea of the character you've picked and the title is always a funny little gag which always sticks in my brain when I see the character again. Looking forward to more as always 👍
this was such a smart show
This is my new favorite thing
Cornfed is a cross between Joe Friday fron Dragnet and Joe Frank... monologust and writer... who also voiced the computer in Galaxy Quest.
Sounds kind of like the guy from the old Deus ex game
@@pyrolee17so "that's" what it reminded me of! You're 100% right on the vibe, though it's not the same guy.
"hell of a first day, corny!" damn ive got to watch this show 😭😭😭😭
Damn this video unblocked a childhood memory for me I totally remember my older cousin watching this on comedy central in the 90s
Way to force my hand. Gotta get a Cornfed tattoo
“Sure, those things never start on time” 4:25

I watched ythis show when I was definitely not old enough to be watching this show and to this day I still highly recommend it

7:31 literally so ahead of its time lol
That got time for a cookie i completely lost it

Cornfed knew that Duckman's wife was alive in the finale.
