Nice to see you uploading again, I think both mowers cut good again depends on the condition but I love the walker because it doesn't clump as much as the Hustler.
One thing everyone needs to keep in mind is that the Walker is designed for precise mowing so their deck is a shallow deck with only about 2 inches between the blade and deck so it doesn't take tall grass as well as the Hustler or a Exmark will because they have deeper decks with 4 inches or more of space...
Hi Jason :) I have been watching your channel for so long now and have wanted to comment so many times but didn't because I am not in the same business, so I kept my mouth shut lol. I bought an Ego electric mower for my small home and play pretend when I am mowing and watching the big guys on UA-cam. What I have been wanting to say isn't so much about mowing, but to tell you that even though you are all about your lawn and landscaping business you have an even farther reach in that to people you don't even know are watching - you are an inspiration! What you have accomplished has got to be like watching the hand of God on someone's life. Where so many young people don't really go anywhere, it is with amazement that I have watched you start a family, grow a family, buy land, build a business, build a building for that business, build a house and turn it into a home, do a UA-cam channel, encourage others, sharing of your knowledge, doing the filming, the editing, the uploading - it is just an inspiration to see. When I simply compare myself to you, I look like a freaking failure lol. But at least I have someone to watch that has presented a roadmap for a good life if they are smart enough to recognize what they are watching. You are simply an inspiration to see, and every time I watch your newest video you have a cheerleader in me for you! If I ever did have a son, I would want him to be very much like you :) It would be plain stupid for people not to see God's hand on your life! Okay, too . mushy, I know others are out there doing great too, i watch them too. But I wanted you to know and hear you are making a difference in places you don't even know, and I wanted to say - thank you! Now, to say something at least somewhat related to what your video is about lol - I saw this a few days ago and it made me think of you when you are mowing sideways on the strong slopes at some of your clients. Okay, I realize it may not be something super smart, but when I see you walking lower than the mower it worries me lol. Take a look, and if you haven seen this before maybe it would be interesting. If not, at least I was thinking of you lol. Here is the vid I saw: ua-cam.com/video/HSBLP5a-MMk/v-deo.html Regards from Miami, Florida :)
I cut taller grass than that every day with just a raptor sd. The walkers make a damn nice cut, but on regularly maintained lawns. Bi weekly, mixed grass & weedy lawns that grow to 8-12" between cuts requires a more aggressive machine.
Honestly they both cut pretty even with very few uncut blades of grass, but my vote goes to the walker for how well it dispersed the clippings. The hustler was a clump machine even with the chute flipped up.
I compared Hustlers with Walker mower years ago when I was starting out and I ended up choosing a Hustler because it is a more versatile and faster mower and "time is money" cutting the standard residential yards I cut. Commercial manicured properties are really where the Walker mower has its place, but it's hard to beat a mower that goes 15mph and has a quality cut like a Hustler. Not to mention Hustlers warranty has always blown Walker's away. Years ago, I called and spoke with a walker representative and asked him why they don't have the Warranty Hustler has and he had no answer. I think I remember the Walker "Commercial use Warranty" being like 90 days I believe. They stopped me in my tracks with Walker. Although like a say, Walker is a great cutting mower. Now (13 + years later) I still love Hustler mowers. I just bought a new Super Z last week.
Looking to upgrade from a 30” walk behind mower to a zero turn in your opinion what style would work on hills? Stander, walk behind zero turn or zero turn I only can do 48” I did demo Exmark 48” turf tracer...thanks
Cool video dude walkers are not sold here for some reason in Miami Wrights are kings here second scag and third Encore and Toro that's what landscaping companies buy here and we put 1000 to 1200 hours a year on a mower cuz we use them so much down here none stop all year long.
I am actually pulling the plug on a new b23i this week. You are right about the scalping part. Demoed the t25i and the b23i. I dont bag I mulch. All Bermuda lawns. Any addons i should consider out the gate?
Even in the field setting the Walker fanned out the clippings without clumps-deflector down. Hustler clump city. What am I missing here ? I bought a northwest edition after seeing your hill video! 42" mulch. Watch for videos soon.
Well one is a 48 and one a 60. Youre double cutting that either way in those conditions, at least around here you would be or get fired. So in the end the 60 is going to make that second pass faster.
@@fredsmedley5073 I'm just responding to the clumping part of this. Those walkers are great. But that device still would need s double cut in these conditions. Walkers second is is going to be at a considerably higher rate. I say buy one of each
walker because own one but the 2006 msghs 42" 13hp kawasaki i noticed that your deck was using the metal deck washers you might the black rubber washers i have the on my deck made it less bouncy on the rough terrain i mower residential properties.
The Walker has its blades directly driven by the clutched power takeoff and shafts to the blade spindle. . The Hustler blades are driven by a belt and pulley system on the deck to the spindles . This means that in heavy grass the Hustler blade belts can slip causing the blades to slow down resulting in an uneven cut. The Walker blades are forced to turn and will not slip. The constant speed of the blade makes for the evenness of the cut..
ZTR for wide open properties with taller grass. Walker all day long for in and out around obstacles and higher end mowing. Also why dont you put the chute up on the walker. It helps disperse clippings better imo!
I think the Walker did great all the way around versus The Hustler I like the way they're cut was even with the wet grass with the Walker I'm running a walker myself and every yard is getting better in the more I cut it with a walker is Dan Fontaine wood Rolling Hills Lawn Care
It is a "B" series which doesn't have a GHS grass clippings collection container. You have to step uo to the "C" series models to get GHS (grass handling system). on them.
I really need help. I am completely stuck between Hustler Super Z 54" or the Hustler X-One 52". I just started a new business and can not decide. I do alot of foreclosure properties that have tall thick grass and rough terrain, and do residential properties around my town. Between the two is almost a 3 grand difference, both will have the Kawasaki 850 engine .Thank you.
Why they didn't kick the back casters out an extra 3 inches so you don't have 4 tire tracks is beyond me. I'm not sure what's worse the track down the middle or the 2 little ones.
How's the house going? Last I remember anything about it you did a livestream of the progress. I may have seen more since then but honestly cant remember I have a horrible memory lol
Yeah, great video, but you need to speak slower mate - sound like you're commenting a horse race haha just kidding - keep up the good work, love your videos! Walker for life!!
Yes,🌼 allabout.wiki/Hustler the bag fills up pretty quickly when there are lots of leaves and I guess that is expected. It is quick to take the leaf catching bag off and put it back on. There is one bar with rubber ends that fits into a slot (bottom), one bar with angled ends that hangs on rubber hooks (top), and two stretchy loops that each hang on a rubber hook (one each side). You can hold the leaf catching bag with one hand full and not drop any leaves. It is NOT easy to empty it into a lawn bag without spilling. My trick: I put two lawn bags side-by-side in a large garbage bin and emptied the leaf catching bag into them. What spills falls into the garbage bin. 90% of the leaves end up in the bags this way with 0% back on the lawn.
ha it was something my local distributor did to stand out from the others...They added the stick, lights and wheels. But I agree, Walkers are already expensive enough.
I don’t understand why you felt as if you were beating up on walker with the first segment, the walker did what it was supposed to even with the wet grass it evenly distributed the clippings and left a clean cut vs the large clumps the hustler left behind.
The only reason I did so it because I know I would get a bunch of people complaining that these type of lawns is not what the Walker mower is designed for so it's an unfair comparison
Walker mowers are geat machines, But as you can tell that's definately not a mower I personally would use on any high end properties, Those trailer wheels on it leaves some unsightly lines in the grass!
Actually on "high-end" properties with "high-end" cuts the Walker makes beautiful stripes. Esp with the T models when the grass is getting bagged. I use 2 of them.
on wet grass the larger deck has to throw more grass out of the side discharge, which will clump especially with the chute up which will also break up the wet grass more. So what were you trying to compare????

The hustler zero turns we have at work are absolutely the worst!. The belt-driven deck set up is Mickey mouse. The belt twists as it comes from the back and it flops around so badly it blows it off quite often. They've all fucked up and they've all been back to the dealer.. They can't handle heavy grass, either. Hopefully yours aren't this model we have
Walker does not come standard with an adjustable height deck, and claims it is a commercial machine. (How can that be when every property is different, and conditions vary constantly when cutting many lawns a day, commercially.) Also walkers length takes up way too much space on a trailer if you are running multiple full sized machines. Sorry, I'll stick with zero turns, or standers.
Because all adjusting take is 4 little pins. Or just buy the adjustment kit. And we mow about 150 yards a week all at the same height so not a big deal for most Walker users.
I used to have a walker super bee. I sucked in tall grass even if it wasn't wet. you couldn't even put the deck up high enough to mow tall grass. The exit chute woluld clogg and i'd have to hop off and dig it out. I baought a lazer z and sold that pos superbee. Walkers are good when new but get a few thousand hours on them and they are a maintenance nightmere. You can't make any money cutting grass if you have to buy a new mower every 2000 hours.

Walker is the best for bagging grass. Unfortunately bagging grass has become a major problem. I was the first one to have a walker mower in New Jersey. That was back in the 1980s. We still uses them for front yards and for picking up leaves in the fall. I could never figure out why walker never adapted. Walkers became very expensive and started using cheap metals. Perfectly worded
I have a hustler 52in. Never had a problem with it. Runs like a dream and is built tough
High lift blades are standard on most zero turns these days. The high lift clumps when wet. Try with a medium lift for better results.

Grasshopper no doubt ! Try one, front mount.
Great video brother. I loved the cut of the Walker I demoed for a couple of months. The floating deck makes the cut look so much cleaner.
Two different mowers like you said but both fantastic! The Xone is a beastley machine.
Walker always hands down the best mower you can find no matter what the terrain is

Run a zero turn with a decent wide discharge deck (like ICD deck on Ferris), and your clumping problem is little or none in those conditions.
We have a turf tiger acag that cuts nice but I think my super z Hustler spreads out the grass much more. I think it's a cleaner cut
Excellent ride along shots.
Is it better to go side discharge or mulching? Which one is better health wise and efficiency wise
running gravely now, and scag will be my next mower ( probably ), but i do miss running hustlers.
I am on my first zero turn. Gravely ZTHD 60. I love it. I put Gator blades on it. I would like to upgrade seat suspension.
The tires on the walker are sweet.
Which Walker do you think is better? The side discharge or the bagger one
Looking to upgrade from a 30” walk behind mower to a zero turn in your opinion what style would work on hills? Stander, walk behind zero turn or zero turn I only can do 48” I did demo Exmark 48” turf tracer...thanks

You mow faster than 8 mph?
Not generally but 1 foot extra swath is considerable. My point is these conditions are going to require a double cut and 12" extra goes a long way
So get the Walker 56" tunnel deck . It performs even better anyway. Check out countrysides B-19 videos.
@@fredsmedley5073 I'm just responding to the clumping part of this. Those walkers are great. But that device still would need s double cut in these conditions. Walkers second is is going to be at a considerably higher rate.
I say buy one of each
Thinking about buying a b27I walker mower with that 48" sude discharge deck. Can buy it for 11,500.00 cash deal.
Not bad at all, that's what my mower cost me 2 years ago and prices have gone up since
walker because own one but the 2006 msghs 42" 13hp kawasaki i noticed that your deck was using the metal deck washers you might the black rubber washers i have the on my deck made it less bouncy on the rough terrain i mower residential properties.
Too bad it wasn't mowers with the same size deck. 48" decks would cut about the same I'm thinking from either company.
The Walker has its blades directly driven by the clutched power takeoff and shafts to the blade spindle. . The Hustler blades are driven by a belt and pulley system on the deck to the spindles . ZTR for wide open properties with taller grass. Walker all day long for in and out around obstacles and higher end mowing. Also why dont you put the chute up on the walker. It helps disperse clippings better imo!
