Dual hub Fabulous folding bike i may get. Or a folding Amp Rides bike. I need one transportable.. No bike rack needed type.

    Ordered mine May 4th, it arrived July 8th. It is FANTASTIC! it gets up and goes, for sure!
    I'm 5' 10", it's a bit on the large size but I can handle it, it's a bit more like handling a motorcycle than a bicycle. I haven't even had to recharge it yet! I've ridden every day for about an hour or so in my very hilly area and it's still at around 55%. I went for the orange, and its beautiful! Like a pearly burnt orange. The box had a few dings on the corners, but its packaged VERY well, and didn't affect the bike at all. It arrived in perfect condition, was very easy to assemble and get going. My gf called me when the UPS man was pulling up the drive, i hurried home to get the batteries on charge, returned to work, and by the time i got home the batteries were fully charged. i assembled it and it's been a lot of fun since! So far so good, met or exceeds my expectations!

    Just bought a bike from wired.a took a while to arrive i was getting concerned but they came through around 30 days for delivery.however i did have a problem with the bike on around 300 miles it just shut down.i called wired talked to dan during the conversation we were trying to figure out the problem he said it was a connection problem. Knowing a little about mechanics that was not the problem so Steve called me and sent me a new battery solved the problem. Have since rode the bike 200 more miles and still working great . I’m a 65yr old that has a heart problem and need to exercise on a daily basis . I thank Steve and dan for coming up with a product that is needed for various reasons. I highly recommend this product.sincerely greg

      Hey Greg thanks for sharing your experience, in your case it sounds like WIRED was very reasonable! Any time a company sends you a whole new battery, that is good 👍 many are very reluctant to offer that degree of help. As an example i have had Aventon replace my battery like that.

    I have been doing a deep dive into Wired Freedom and believe as much of the issues have surfaced it is a good bike for the price. However, I am looking at ECells version with even better spec’s, wheels, frame and controller (with heat dissipating epoxy) with no shipping or Tax and a free front basket, (limited offer)

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  11 місяців тому

      the wired freedom is a good bike, yeah if it gets delivered and it works then it should be great. I dont like pre ordering bikes months away, but I see the freedom is "in stock" apparently on the website. I'm going to reserve my judgement on the E-Cells till that bike comes out. It looks like a good deal on paper. but at the moment its a bike that does not exist yet. Looks cool. On paper it seems as good as the Freedom and a lower price, but we'll see. Some times manufacturers swap out components etc

      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому +1

      Hey thanks for bringing that to my attention, dang sorry to hear that. I wonder what happened with the bikes! Did they get shorted on the shipment?? It must have been a fair amount of missing units. That sucks, even if its not directly WIRED's fault, they should reimburse you in some way, thats ridiculous. That's a long time to wait, and a large amount of money to put on a credit card, only to have to refund it 2 months later because of that. I'm always wary of any type of pre order thats months out. especially when its bikes coming in a container from china. In any case mate, that's a bummer- I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. You did the right thing, I would have done a refund and ordered a different bike too!

    I have the old wired freedom and cruise the bikes are pretty good and for the money I couldn't find anything close to it but the suspension on the freedom doesn't really exist on mine because the tire would hit the speed controller (don't expect customer support) but I'm 210lbs can hit 38 mph and go about 20 miles hard throttle no pedal. I'd still recommended it even with the shipping delays I had, the unusable suspension, and no customer support so this version should be better just know you are paying for the parts and not much else.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  11 місяців тому +1

      yeah thats kind of how it looks to me, if the bike shows up at your place in one piece, and its working OK, then its probably a great bike. But wired customer support has been going down the drain.I think they fixed the tire hitting the controller box with the 2024 freedom but thats kind of an oversight in the previous version Lol.

    My new 2024 Wired freedom bike finely arrived last Saturday. I was very pleased that it did not get mangled during shipping all the way out to California. I quickly got the bike assembled, and noticed the front tire was not in alignment with the rest of the bike. After breaking out my measuring calipers I quickly realized that one fork was more than an 1/8 longer than the other, causing the misalignment.After talking with Steve the owner and sending a few photos, he immediately shipped me a new set of RST forks. I was very impressed at how knowledgeable he was about every aspect of this bike. It was a Very informative conversation. I could not be more pleased with my customer service experience. This New 2024 Freedom bike is EVERYTHING ALL the reviews said it was ! I could not be more pleased with my purchasing decision ! I tell all my friends that this bike is( Large And In Charge!) Interesting that Wired is hiring/outsourcing, I have never heard they have a technician. It sounds like they weren't very helpful yet, hopefully they follow up, thjat seems very inconvenient. Not sure how people get the idea it's a scam with tons of videos on UA-cam about this bike already out. One of my big concerns is prepaying 2 or 3 months in advance for the bike. It's a pretty good business model for the company, not so much for the customer.
    There does seem to be rumblings about shipping and/or manufacture damage.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому +1

      That’s a valid concern- i would not pre order a bike months in advance, when you could buy a different bike and be riding it. It seems the demand is there and they will continue to do it as long as people are lining up for pre orders. Shipping damage is an issue with any bike, to be honest, unless the manufacturer is really going the extra mile with the packaging.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому +4

      it seems like a great value, it should be fine. I do like the bike. Some local bike stores are wary of working on ebikes, it depends on the particular shop. If you need normal bike work done like brakes or spoke tension etc, its the same as a normal bike and you could bring it in without the battery- if it made them feel more comfortable. But the local bike store might not be comfortable/able to help you swap out the motor core if something goes wrong. They have liability issues with certain things. But by taking out that battery it mitigates the risk of fire at least. And another thing is there are a bajillion people on craigslist and facebook market place that are basically mike mechanics in their spare time. and would jump on the opportunity to make an extra couple bucks. There are mobile bike mechanics that show up in a van and work on your bike. Lots of options

    You gotta take another look at the Wired bike offering. The price of the bike hasn't changed but most of the specs have improved, even though they were already all pretty high for that price of $2000. Their site now states: 3200W Peak Output (from 2200W), 153 NM of Torque (from 138nm), 45 Amp controller (from 40), dual battery now (20Ah + 15Ah) for 2100 total Wh (was a single 1200Wh). All this and the price is still $2000 - but now pre-order ship dates are July 2024. All pretty unbelievable even without considering the sketchiness of the owners. I'm curious if you've heard any more about them or about any real owners actual experiences.

    is there any PAS e-bike faster than Wired Freedom and Goat Powered E-bike or goes 55 mph speed under $2500?

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  9 місяців тому

      55mph u need like a QS205 or QS273 direct drive hub , maybe even just some generic 3000W hub could do it, with a fardriver controller , and high voltage high discharge battery. BUT Prebuilt ebikes are barely 60V at this point, you are looking for 72V and beyond with a battery and controller that can do hundreds of amps. After 30mph it takes something like double power just to go every 10mph faster, due to wind resistance. In terms of pedaling and actually having resistance on the pedals, it depends on your wheel size but at some point its just impossible to pedal along regardless of your chairing and gearing. And for 2500$ what you want probably isn’t possible unless you literally build the battery youself and strap a crazy motor and battery on a really cheap or free bike. It might be possible. Probably more like 3 grand . If you are going fast need good brakes and everything just gets heavier and more expensive. That’s more motorcycle type components, not bicycle stuff. If you’re only buying prebuilt, then id get a goat powered Ebike, yeah, or something similar With a high power direct drive motor. Probably has the best upgrade potential. the motor goat on 60V goes pretty fast, on 72V itd probably do 50+ , that’s really the only prebuilt with a decent direct drive hub that I’ve seen. But idk depending on how you ride, a geared hub could have more torque. I wouldn’t be taking s motor goat on any trails or be seriously pedaling a motor goat, i don’t think its made for pedaling really.

    I own the later 2023 model with the not so good rear suspension . I'm at 240lbs. and so I've got to extend the shock so far out as to not rub the controller box that I get no bounce at all . For the most part I am happy with the bike , my only other con is that when I first recieved it the bike's top speed was 36mph but after a few months it only gets up to about 33 or 34 mph .When I first got it the rear wheel rubbed the controller box so they shipped me a larger shock(& replacement box). Then my rear rack broke with only 20lbs on it and so they shipped me out another stronger one which I had purchased a rear rack from Amazon that was rated to carry 100lbs. and so I just used those support braces on the new rack so I could carry a spare battery . Since all that It's worked great all except for the loss of 3 - 4 mph , I do have to mention that it really accelerates up 20mph quickly which I appreciate for dodging traffic when I have to use the streets .

      That's the reason you very rarely see full suspension fat tire mountain bikes, in order to handle the abuse and the weight of a fat tire, it has to be super high-quality, probably like 2 Grand just for the suspension alone, even really high-end full suspension mountain bikes require constant maintenance, and replacing the bushings and bearings every so many years. My only concern with those cells is in that 4p configuration at 9.8A max discharge on each cell, doing 40amps would be maxing the cells out. So if you are giving this bike full power its probably going to have the voltage drop quite a bit. Think whatever you want. Just do it critically and with genuine intellectual honesty.
    The 5 Steps to Critical Thinking:
    What is critical thinking?
    In general, critical thinking refers to actively questioning statements rather than blindly accepting them.
    Critical thinking results in radical free will.
    1. The critical thinker is flexible yet maintains an attitude of healthy skepticism.
    Critical thinkers are open to new information, ideas, and claims. They genuinely consider alternative explanations and possibilities. However, this open-mindedness is tempered by a healthy sense of skepticism (Hyman, 2007).
    The critical thinker consistently asks, “What evidence supports this claim?”
    2. The critical thinker scrutinizes the evidence before drawing conclusions.
    Critical thinkers strive to weigh all the available evidence before arriving at conclusions. In evaluating evidence, critical thinkers distinguish between empirical evidence versus opinions based on feelings or personal experience.
    3. The critical thinker can assume other perspectives.
    Critical thinkers are not imprisoned by their own points of view. Nor are they limited in their capacity to imagine life experiences and perspectives that are fundamentally different from their own. Rather, the critical thinker strives to understand and evaluate issues from many different angles.
    4. The critical thinker is aware of biases and assumptions.
    In evaluating evidence and ideas, critical thinkers strive to identify the biases and assumptions that are inherent in any argument (Riggio & Halpern, 2006). Critical thinkers also try to identify and minimize the influence of their own biases.
    5. The critical thinker engages in reflective thinking.
    Critical thinkers avoid knee-jerk responses. Instead, critical thinkers are reflective. Most complex issues are unlikely to have a simple solution. Therefore, critical thinkers resist the temptation to sidestep complexity by boiling an issue down to an either/or, yes/no kind of proposition. Instead, the critical thinker expects and accepts complexity (Halpern, 2007).
    Critical thinking is not a single skill, but rather a set of attitudes and thinking skills. As is true with any set of skills, you can get better at these skills with practice.
    In a nut shell, critical thinking is the active process of minimizing preconceptions and biases while evaluating evidence, determining the conclusions that can reasonably be drawn from evidence, and considering alternative explanations for research findings or other phenomena.
    CRITICAL THINKING QUESTIONS
    >Why might other people want to discourage you from critical thinking?
    >In what situations is it probably most difficult or challenging for you to exercise critical thinking skills? Why?
    > What can you do or say to encourage others to use critical thinking in evaluating questionable claims or assertions?

      hey sorry Yt Swallowed this one on me , I am looking at this bike, it looks kind of cool I like how its got all the suspension. and 26" fat tires and the two batteries in the frame. I like how it has the Mag wheels where they dont have spokes. 1200W peak is kind of weak, the controller might be a low amp controller. It says its a 1000W motor, so if its truly a 1000w motor, it should have a L1019 connector, and be able to be upgraded to a better controller. But it says 70NM torque, so it kind of makes me feel like it might be a 750W motor and they are just saying 1000W? The BMS on the battery might be limited to a certain amperage. So i think the limiting factor on this X26 is the controller amps, it could use a better controller. And im not sure how many amps the batteries can discharge. I like the bike itself. It could be really cool with better battery cells in it. ANd a good controller. I would only try to upgrade the controller if its truly a 1000w nominal controller. Figure out what kindof motor cable connector they use for it. And that gives you an idea of how thick the phase wires are and how much current it can handle. I like the suspension and design. I have heard ENGWE is not great with customer support though.

They are fun. its 2 grand which is way cheaper than even mid level brand bikes from legacy builder. Keep the expectations there. The cruiser is a little dangerous imo. If I got a wired id stick to the freedom. I ride super bikes around a track all the time so danger subjective.. The frame has a modulation issue in its design or my frame has issues. Just hop off the bike and grab a handle and move it back and forth and you'll feel the frame warping. I initially thought the speed wobbles I get were from a loose headset but that was just exaggerating the problem. Even with it tightened perfectly, I still get speed wobbles. Then I thought maybe its just a symptom of all step thru's but I got another step though and it does not suffer from the same issue. You have to have your ass in the seat to stabilize the frame and a lot of people stand up on these bikes. . Not an issue at 15 mph .. but when youre hitting 38 mph it can be and a lot of p[epple buy this bike and there first thing they to is find a hill and pin it. . You feel it start to wobble and it gets progressively worse if you dont slow. So if you have the cruiser just be careful pushing it. Make sure everything is torq'd to a decent spec every few weeks. I have no real issues with wired but they aren't the super supportive company that everyone on here claims. but how can they be? theres no way they are making margins on these bikes at this time. Also V1 or what ever original version was call... with all the tires rubbing into the controller housing. Their fix was...Ok we will ship you the china made bike distributed here in the usa, bad! But we will send you the parts to fix it. Who does that...????

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому

      Hey thanks 🙏 for bringing that up. I thought about that with the v1; the controller was crazy close to the wheel and it looked like depending on the suspension it would rub. That’s crazy if it was rubbing with the stock setup and no changes to the suspension. They must not have tested the suspension with different adjustments and rider weight.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому

      Btw i am curious about what they had you do for the fix? what parts could they send to fix a problem like that?? It seemed like a fundamental problem with the suspension and tire clearance.

    The old Mozo Fork is not perfect, but way more trail capable than the new RST, Chow Yang is also underrated, since they started using on e bikes people got the impression that they generic tires, Diamondback used to put them on some really nice higher-end fat tire bikes back when I used to make nice fat bikes. Not as expensive as Maxxis but not cheap.

      Chao Yangs are the most underrated tires, i love them. They have them on Amazon in 20x4 and 26x4 as “Mongoose Fat Tire Mountain Bike Accessory” and they are super cheap. I’ve got the 20x4 tires as cheap as 35$ and they would last several thousand miles. Better than any kenda I’ve tried

    I'm really excited to see the science bear out regarding the steer reinforced gears. The only real way to know is keep track of owners over time and see how many miles these bikes get before motor failure vs typical e-bike.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_  Рік тому

      metal gears seem like a marketing thing. Solving a problem that isn't a problem. I've used my bafang g62 thousands of miles over several years, the nylon teeth are still fine and there is no damge to them, despite that i was running the motor 2-3x the nominal power levels. The nylon gears are a problem that didn't need fixing. They are designed to be a point of failure, at a component that is easy to remove and replace. The steel gears I imagine would cause more wear on the rest of the metal gears inside the hub motor. Even in my bafang g62 there is a lot of aluminum dust from the nylon gears against metal. Imagine metal gears against metal

It is totally false advertising to say that the price of the bike is less than $2,000, no it isn't, it's 2250 with shipping. As if the shipping price doesn't matter, the angry person and support with an attitude told me that free shipping was just a gimmick. Read my comment on this post and you will see what transpired.
