I hope this is is all true. I do love this competition between Wired and E-Cells, as it seemed like the last month E-Cells has been touting their 5-Star bike. I'm sure Wired knew they couldn't sleep on their laurels so they had to bring out this info to know they weren't out of the fight. That free extra battery seems so good, I almost don't believe it.

Awesome!! I have a 2024 Freedom and that thing changed my life!!!❤ I ride the bike hard in pouring rain & mud, crazy trails and huge hills and never have any problem. The look, fit & finish and functionallity of these bikes is amazing!! KING OF THE ROAD!! Now these new bikes take it to new heights!! Especially the cruiser with full suspension now and the hottest look of all!! I want to order the cruiser for my wife, then I can sneak it out and ride it!! Thanks for all your great reviews!! I saw your review riding the Freedom on those crazy trails in Lake Tahoe and ordered it that night!!! So glad I did!! Keep up the great work!!!
Ordered the Cruiser in Lime Green. Had to cancel an ECells order due to complications with their supply chain. Hate that I have go to another month without right now, but looking forward to riding it when it does arrive. Nice to be able to jump on the revision.
Love the 60V! 45A controller - LOVE (and the wire harness they had to have upgraded). 60V x 45A is peak 2700W at the motor. Love 4 piston calipers with 203mm (catching up the Revv1). Hate quick release on the front tire; makes no sense to upgrade to a through axel if you have quick release. Extra battery is nice. Wish they had a decent headlight (with horn) brake lights and turn signals. Not too excited about 2 miles an hour top speed, but the whole reason you want a bigger controller for hills. So many influencers live on the flattest places in the world and give you no idea of how this thing actually works if you have hills. I regularly have a 9-11% incline for over a football field.
I just got the new one in yesterday. I know they said it came with a 2nd battery, but the didn't even have photos of it when I ordered. The 2nd battery is massive. The bike is a crazy value. It's also much larger than I anticipated.
@@davidmarcoux6349 I just cancelled my order last night. Watching all the videos of the death wobble and all the flexing kinda turned me off. Going to order an Ecells instead for now, I've heard the are more rigid, no death wobble, flexing etc.
I placed an order last night and was already excited, but with the new specs, I'm absolutely thrilled. You're right about the sales numbers for the cruiser. Initially, I ordered the Freedom, but I emailed them and switched it to the lime green cruiser you reviewed.
I really applaud most of the upgrades. Here are some additional suggestions: Torque Sensor Option! This is a must for me as I want better control of my speed. Eliminate the second tail light on the battery (which is bound to get damaged eventually) and give us one rear light with brake light & turn signals and an indication on the display that shows they are on. And while we're on displays, they should provide one that can be viewed with polarized sunglasses. Supposedly there is some kind of film you can apply to the screen to make it viewable(?). If that is true, provide that film. Next, move the headlight from the lower fork where it gets bounced to death and mount it on the handlebar/stem area. The Gemma brakes look decent but there are almost no reviews and few places to get parts, pads, bleeding kit, etc.. Why choose such an oddball component? (low cost?) Does the crank chainring use wide/narrow teeth? How is the bottom bracket cover on the cruiser sealed? Is there a gasket? Very anxious to see how the final version looks once they start to arrive and hope I don't have to wait until the end of the season or next year for a torque sensor option. Please offer this or I will have to choose the Ecells Step Star.
Torque sensor would be nice. Some other companies are already doing that well with hub motors. But this goes so fast maybe they assume people aren't gonna pedal much
@@DriverJ-N e cells has missed the 2024 season and is screwed. It’s not like you can change your design and build several thousand bikes in China overnight. I think Wired has timed their announcement for maximum pain.
Just placed my order, thanks for the $50! I couldn't find any other discount codes anywhere. I'm so anxious, hate waiting til June. My 50th bday is mid June and this is my treat to myself. Getting old sucks! Where I live it's downhill all the out and up hill all the way back, I really hope this one can do it. I think it can! ETA: 7 MONTHS and 700+ miles later, it's everything I hoped and more! Carries 245lbs up that hill at 30-32mph no sweat!
I'm 64 and love riding like I was 17 again. Hitting the trail jumps and bombing down (or up) single line trails , or fire roads and railroad trails is still as fun as it always was. You won't regret your buy!
@EdChauvey-f2f I've had it about 7 months now, just had a 2 hour ride yesterday! Finally a warm enough day to make it bearable in many weeks. NO REGRETS! After 700+ miles I already got my money worth. Sounds like you thoroughly enjoy yours as well! Ride safe!🤘
I ordered mine 2 weeks ago,I had no idea there is going to be an extra battery also that the step-thru is going to have rear suspension, I am 65, 230 lbs., I would’ve ordered that model. I wonder if I can change it after seeing your video. I’ll call them tomorrow. Love your channel. It is the best e-bike channel on UA-cam. Thanks for the update and info.
After seeing your video, I couldn't sleep🤣So I ordered the Crusier in black today. The intigrated 2nd battery on the rear rack with no price increase and the Cruiser redesign sold me. Plus the extra $50 discount!. The upgrades in the brake system, color display, controller, increase in torque and a quiet smooth hub motor at 42 mph. Thanks Mr. Citizen for the video, very informative.
THIS! I've been shopping around, ecells was on my short list and I had already eliminated wired, until I saw something about May 3rd... then this dropped and I pulled the trigger! TBH I was looking for someone with something in stock but everything, everywhere is backorder so I pulled the trigger this morning on a lime green freedom!
What a great bike I’ve never seriously considered an E bike before but let me tell you. I saw one video on this bike and I realize this is some serious quality and I’m not a small guy. I’m not huge but I’m about 210 pounds so I want something that’s gonna have plenty of power for me whether I’m right around the neighborhood or I’m going off road in the desert. The colors are all great. You guys picked some amazing colors. I can’t even decide which one I want I like them, all, especially the white, the blue and the black.
Liked and Subscribed! This made my day. I ordered the Wired Freedom on Apr 7th and almost thought I was going to have some major buyer's remorse when I first saw this title. I chatted with Wired and they confirmed this is what I'll be getting. Stoked, bigger brakes and battery would have had me pleased enough, BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! I did order the white one so I may have to watch this more than once. lol 😄
Just received my new Freedom in White as I had to have "the upgrades"! I have the previse model in Black, I striped it down and lowered the gearing for off road recon and exploration, changed the seat and handlebars out for Low Rise MTB style, the Grips too..... It's a BEAST!!! About to assemble my new one and will name it 'RANGER... "FREEDOM!!!!! : )
I just received my new Freedom, and WOW - it’s a game changer! The power boost compared to my 2024 Freedom V1 is unreal. The torque is so intense, it feels more like riding an electric motorcycle than an e-bike. But the best part? I can still dial it back and enjoy a relaxed cruise on the trails, something you just can't do on a motorcycle. The only drawback? My V1 Freedom is now sitting idle, gathering dust!
And i almost got the e-cells five star, this step through changes the game completely with the shock on the rear, potted controller, comes with two batteries, better brakes, more power, easer to read color controller, Very clean looking as everything is hidden in the frame.
It’s genuinely crazy how good these bikes have gotten over the past few years. I am gonna need an affiliate code with this one because I’m gonna sell a shit ton of em to my friends and family(and probably random people on the street lol.)
Ecells has a similar dual battery step thru with rear suspension. If that was your only reason not to get, you should check it out. I've read it will be on the Ecells website soon
Thanks for the series of videos you created on these bikes, really helped in making my decsion. I used your link to pick up the lime green step through.
well....i bought the ecells, mostly bc I wanted a torque sensor....drooling over these changes. I guess im coming to the conclusion that Im prob just going to buy another bike in a couple of years and give my current one (whenever I get it) to my dad. Well done wired. Please offer torque sensor in the future!
What's your opinion of the torque sensor performance on the ecells? Does it kick in immediately? Is it well implemented into the bikes performance or is it lacking in any way?
@@mellowjammer I ordered it basically a month ago today. Should get it within the next month. Bad thing with all these bikes is the wait time. I'm honestly a bit nervous with all the power it's going to jerk forward. But I guess time will tell. I'll try to remember and update!
Turning 64 with disability. I need a step through. A collision might pot me in ICU for good, so I am glad this has the power to accelerate away from threats and have excellent brakes. Lime green is great for visibility, but I'd rather have blue and just wear a fluorescent vest. The unlock function on the menu I can comprehend. Compared to other vids, the step through seems to ride much smoother, less shaking. All this and the extra battery settled my shopping decision immediately. My deliberation is over. Great review!
Hey you are lucky you got away on the Cruiser. I had a pit bull attack 3 months ago on MY street. Have had 3 operations, still in lots of pain, limping and nightmares. Next they told me to shoot them a video of the problem which I haven't figured out how to do yet because I can't duplicate without riding the bike. I get the design of the Freedom may have been first with the 1500w motor. But they took someone else's frame to make it. Also Ecells had the dual battery and the step thru with suspension weeks ago, so not sure how Wired was the leader as you say?
So you just answered the definition of a leader by admitting they were the first to introduce the 1500 W motor with their design. That design blew the doors off of anything else out there and gave them a huge market share in this industry! Has nothing to do with who manufacturers the components. When your marketing products there are leaders and there are followers who try to grab your market share. Ecells copied the wired design trying to grab market share. I'm sure Ecells will copy Wired again to try and compete with the updated, better performance that Wired has just provided. Hey Citizen - I enjoy your videos, and when you rolled out this new Cruiser my first thought was Wow, it's the 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda in lime light green. Awesome! As I get closer to making a purchase decision - this ebike just became a strong contender. I'm looking at 3 new full suspension, step-through ebikes and I would enjoy seeing you do a comparo video on them. First Bike) This Wired Cruiser - Pros: price, suspension, power, range, brakes, STYLE up the wazoo. Cons: no torque sensor; no MTB 3" tire option. Second Bike: E-Cells 5-Star Step Through - Pros: price, many option choices including torque sensor and suspension upgrades. Cons: not many, no 3" tire set. Options likely put it up to $3K. And nobody's gonna beat that Lime Green on the Wired Cruiser. Third Bike: Biktrix Juggernaut full suspension Step Through MTB - Pros: Upgrade options, 400 color choices, 1500W mid motor, 220NM torque, MTB or Fat tire option, a killer ebike from our friends in Canada. Cons: Price - $4K Having to make this kind of a choice is a happy problem to have, look forward to your comment/advice/reply.
I just want to say, very cool workshop or set. I would love an area like that! Two big things Wired needs to do, build in the shipping cost and bigger discount for using your order code! Honestly, one of the reasons I went with E-Cells.
@rayduke7433 well thank you the garage has been a work in progress to get it looking as camera ready as possible. I've mentioned a wired numerous times they should build the shipping cost they have a large amount of customers who pick up in warehouse and take advantage and take advantage of the lower price.
Thank you so much for the great series of videos. I've been looking at ebikes for months and you helped me finalize my choice with the wired freedom. BTW 46mph was crazy
Total cost for a Wired freedom and cruiser with Shipping, Insurance, and Taxes is $500 more than their competition. And their Warrantee is only one year, where their competition warrants the Frame for Life of the bike, and battery-motor for two years, and the rest of the components for one year. Seems if the owners of Wired believed in their products they would have a stronger warrantee. And Wired does not offer upgraded features. For $500 in total cost difference between Wired and E-Cells you can add a it of upgraded options. I am buying two bikes. I am going with the E-Cells 5 Star. I was Able to add 6 upgraded Options per bike. Better Product-Better Company.
An email sent out to those who were expecting late may delivery, but delivery was delayed to mid to late june "After a review video by CitizenCycle, many of you let us know you weren't thrilled with our "speed based" pedal assist system. Could you do a range test with the extra battery?
👍
Just ordered mine today using the Citizen discount.

Thank you for the $50.00 dollars off my order citizen!
I placed an order last night and was already excited, but with the new specs, I'm absolutely thrilled. You're right about the sales numbers for the cruiser. Initially, I ordered the Freedom, but I emailed them and switched it to the lime green cruiser you reviewed.
awesome, i wish you a speedy delivery :) that green is hard to pass up
Thinking about buying this bike tomorrow how’s it doing now? Thanks.👍
It's almost like a Christmas list to Santa, knowing you're not gonna get them all.
Makes me wonder if I should cancel my order and wait for Wired to do it better next time with a torque sensor option?
They already have a dual motor Step Star II in the works! 🚴♀️ 💨🔥
Torque sensor would be nice. Some other companies are already doing that well with hub motors. But this goes so fast maybe they assume people aren't gonna pedal much

Next year probably with torque sensor..that is very important to me, great improvements but I'll still go with the Ecells to get that feature.
I know right? If Ecells can make it an option, how hard can it be for Wired to do the same !? It's almost a deal breaker.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO!! I just bought (2) Freddoms today. Hopefully they ship soon! They said early July.
Ordered the blue Cruiser via your link yesterday. Thanks!

@@joeschmuckatelli3198 that's good for you, I've heard this many times. That the owner Steve is very approachable and easy to talk to. @@brianjennings86 leader of what? If you come out with a product after someone already has, how does that make Wired the leader?
Has nothing to do with dual batteries or step thru frames, it's about leading into the market first and I'm sorry, but Wired owns that title.
