Al the young dudes carry a tune ( Mott the Hoople,if youve never heard of them LOOK them up Ian Hunter and the Fella's) good energy Lad's very good performance. I've always Liked and Loved this tune. Peace Love and damn good music. keep rocking!!
Springsteen's cover made this into squishy power-pop but you guys, whoever you are, reminded us that this was a punk song. Thank you from an old fart but a new Strypes fan.
@@BlueDodgerman Actually it was first recorded by the band Brinsley Schwarz, of which Nick Lowe was a part of, in 1974. It's a "Pub Rock" song. Here's a ferocious live version from 1975 - ua-cam.com/video/N72FnKOypk4/v-deo.html
Zeppelin 1969 I did some research last night to educate myself--it is Nick Lowe's song. He wrote it. Elvis Costello just covered it. This version that the Strypes performed is closest to Nick Lowe's version :)
That's cool. I just didn't want you to think I was trying to be arrogant or anything. This is cool, but like I said in the comments, I like their music better.
Written by Nick Lowe in 1974 when in Brynsley Schwarz on the album New Favourites ... The Costello 45rpm cover came later in 1979 and its the template for this. Nick produced Elvis. DIG. And yes THIS IS FUCKING ACE!!!!
Yet another crafted piece of pure pop music penned by the sadly underrated Nick Lowe when with Brinsley Swartz .Whilst this version is fine I do have to ask why cover a song virtually note for note and not make a version where you put your own individual stamp on it ? Methinks this band need to write their own stuff or remain a covers band
This will sound mean spirited but, this comment is praise for their determination. Due to that factor; they deserve the success they have, but, judging form this song ( and they got more and better and they did a good job.) I a have seen as good as and better amateur covers of this classic, which proves that luck and determination ( sacrifices like sleeping on the streets and who knows what else!) Are key factors ( oh yeah! You better have balls! Like these guys) Just an old fart sharing an unsolicited opinion. And if you are probed to instruct," die, already, Geezer" your wish is my command. Soon enough. Soon enough!
The band sounds good but the vocals aren’t very strong. They sound like boys whereas this song requires the pathos and passion of a full grown man. The wah on the solo is incongruous with the style of the song, shouldn’t have used it. I dig the drummer and the organ player the most. Polished and professional recording but they are trying to hide the weak vocals by double tracking them. The singers have decent pitch but need to have a more powerful delivery and be more expressive. Singing like Blink 182 on this kind of material doesn’t cut it. I’m sure they’ll improve, they have a good foundation.
I miss watching and listening to these boys
I still don't understand, why aren't these guys more famous? they're one of the best new bands
It's not a very good cover version, tbh.
@@nookiebroon4424 No it's not a great cover but rather see these guys than the New Kids of the Block or Backstreet or One Direction.
They’d be famous if they could write their own songs.
Why isn’t Nick Lowe more famous?
These cats know their Brinsley Schwartz , man.
I bloody miss them so much 😭
Talent, humor; self irony, loads of fun.
Now that's what I call a band.

What a joyous noise!
Springsteen's cover made this into squishy power-pop but you guys, whoever you are, reminded us that this was a punk song. Thank you from an old fart but a new Strypes fan.
It was a Nick Lowe song, Elvis just covered it. It's a Folk song originally!

Great Band And a Great Cover of this Great Song .
Outstanding! Strypes play this with the abandon missing from almost all other versions. Just great.
Elvis Costello's the man. I was so excited to see you guys had covered this. Love you guys
Nick Lowe.
Zeppelin 1969 ohh okay, I've only heard elvis costello sing it :)
Well you have me there. This is the only version I've ever heard lol. Just know Nick Lowe is who they gave credit to on the record.

Another fantastic Nick Lowe's song
Track 17 from Spitting Images (Japanese Deluxe Edition)
It seems Japan only!!!
I can't fucking wait until 6/16
Love your music - but this is even better than the Brinsleys version - brilliant
Sounds like a green day song from the UNO DOS TRE era!
ロスの叩くドラムがなまらカッコイイ
👍
Nice job on the song but the main bus limiter is screaming for mercy.
It's cool that they're covering the original version by Brinsley Schwarz. He's singing it like Nick Lowe did.
Not the same as Nick sing, but I like very very much.
Kool
❤
Recommended by Alice Cooper. Nuff said! Snapshot is awesome. Elvis iCostello, very great.
Nice job guys, but I like your music better. Keep up the great work!

They’ve changed lost there mod rock sound
Nick Lowe.

andrew arthur matthews they have two albums, and a third on the way??
Steve Earle’s version by far the best
This song was NEVER a punk song !You need to do some research into Nick Lowe and the band Brinsley Swartz - yes a pub rock band but not punk
whats up men!?are you folks?:-
In my day we call these guys wannabes
Nice try. Pity about the riff, but Springsteen didn't get it either.
what about the main melody?? do you know the song???? This is genuinely ridiculous

How sad. Today’s generation has to cover angsty songs from 40 years ago instead of creating their own.
Too much of nothing
Terrible. The original is tight on the drums, guitar and singing. This version was way to rushed.
