Dave's genuine enthusiasm says it all. He joke before they played that their moms were picking them up after the show, then they played and he was amazed, This is one thing I loved about Dave, he appreciated great music performed well and loved a good rock band
I'd say when the audience saw them first they thought 'aww this will be adorable'. And then the boys blew everyone away.. The Strypes are going to be massive, mark my word.
During the 2010s, they spearheaded and encouraged a wave a young UK bands to explore non-Beatle classic Brit Invasion and R&B roots. e.g. The 45s ua-cam.com/video/URBtN5f1FWg/v-deo.html
If they don't transform into the new millenium One Direction, they're going places...otherwise they will fall into total oblivion by the 3rd album :)!!
This my first exposure to this band. My first impression is that these guys are just mod wannabe douches, but then they started playing. My mind is officially blown. THIS is good music.
Well you're a little late to the party cupcake, even two years ago. By this point they had ditched the mod look and sound. Shows what the fuck you know about mod. Which is nothing.
This band was just awesome..I saw this show when they were on. I fell in love..they know how to Rock and Roll and take it to another level! WOOT! Dave had good musical guest and i heard he handpicked his musical guests too.
Man I wish I really had found out about these guys earlier! I’m just getting into them now to find out they have split up, what a shame! This is music! The good thing is they are still young! Thank you Strypes for making good music again!!!!!!!
That was legendary and iconic. Check out their version of Elvis Costello's 'Peace Love and Understanding' It will blow you away how good they are. Mindblowing talent at that age.
Watching this back its like it isnt real..... Used to watch these guys in Sweeneys for a €5r every Tuesday...... A 5r.... I miss the Strypes. They were special.
They're the next big movement since the beatles :D This live version is so much faster from the original, maybe they were nervous in front of letterman and went too fast haha :P
Wise_Young_Douchebag - If your takeaway from viewing this performance is that it's "Utter Bullshit" You clearly missed the memo... No one here is asserting that this is a 'new' sound my son. In point of fact, it is acknowledged to be a throwback. ...A respectful homage to the mid-60s British Invasion. Bands like the Yardbirds, (early) Kinks, the Animals and (early) Who. The point is that these guys are the anti-Bieber, the anti flavor of the month. Real human beings, playing guitars and drums with energy and enthusiasm, making real rock & roll.
Aaaaaaaaaah fun. BOOM! :D I hope Evan's hands are getting a rest after all the touring and TV. Had to cringe in pain for him when I read in Rolling Stone how trashed his hands were leading up to this appearance. :(
This is what happens folks when your children find Kinks, Pretty Things, and Dr Feelgood records in your collection instead of Duran Duran or some other gormless swill .
Jam Slapper He's neither. He's more than likely a 50 something, fat, bald drunk, that shouts about his shit local football team and goes home to beat his wife.
Why can't bands pick original freaking names ? Jeez There already is The White Stripes and big deal it's spelled differently I'm not impressed I'll go listen to Dr. Feelgood

Letterman nearly pissed his pants best young live band around without a doubt
I'd say when the audience saw them first they thought 'aww this will be adorable'. And then the boys blew everyone away.. The Strypes are going to be massive, mark my word.
lol
2 years later.

Breath of fresh air!
If David had ever been to Cavan he'd be even more impressed how they managed to get there 😂
I love the headbutt at the end.
their sound has balls, not something you could say for many "rock" bands these days.
wow...amazing talent and good looking boys!..more power to you guys!!!
OMG i am so happy that i found this band they are amazing...
Really reminds me of the early British scene .I'm 69 and these guys remind me of my bands when I was young .
Its a Mod thing
one of the great things about Letterman, he had a lot of great bands on during his run
THIS IS AWESOME... SO HAOPPY TO HEAR A BAND THAT ROCKS, IS YOUNG AND DRESSES COOL! I hope the very best for them. Buying the CD today! YAHHH~ ROCK ON~
Here it is kids, proof of the hope for the enduring future of real rock music!
Totally agree :)!!!
I've got some bad news for you then XD
They sound...and look - great!!
Great job boys! You guys look and sound absolute rock n' roll!
Hopefully they'll stay together for at least a good ten albums. I'd like to see how they grow and evolve.
If they don't transform into the new millenium One Direction, they're going places...otherwise they will fall into total oblivion by the 3rd album :)!!
@@robertcubinelli4961 sorry guys
Me too !!!
I think that they split up
@@jonathanhadley2555 Yeeeah, I know, but I think three out of the four started a new band? Not sure which one bailed... or why.
there 's hope, Maybe Rock and Roll is not dead yet. Thanks to this band. Very good young musicians
These guys are the tops!!
Sad that The Strypes broke up. They put out three great albums.
These guys are the real deal!!
Amazing band this should be the new pop!
Out fkn' standing!!!
I love this bands energy!

I wish I’d have got on The Strypes train a hell of a lot earlier!! Fahhhkk!!
They just broke up. They posted it on their Instagram. Really, what a shame... Best of luck to these bright kids.
Their albums are so good.
love the guitar player singing ....playing ...and chewing gum .....all at the same time .....lol epic....
RIP The Strypes. Getting the look is one thing. Playing your ass off is a whole other thing, which they did.
What it should be. Cheers man

That's the REAL DEAL there. The Anti Biebers. Thought Dave was gonna shit himself.
LOOK AT THIS GUYS!
Best band I've heard since Oasis
They’re the Irish Beatles. I dig it.
They're more like Dr feelgood than the Beatles.
Wow, there is hope after all. Rock isn't dead. Great job.
I’ve got bad news for you…
I can’t quite decide who’s the most phenomenal here. Okay - I’m going for the drummer.
just stumbled on this...not bad!
Nice! Very Nice!
Get in there ! pure magic !!!!
great!!
i think they call this 'nailing it'. fucking outstanding
❤️❤️❤️
class
OK, not ALL boy bands are lame, this rocked !
James Laubhan this is a rock and roll band mate, a far cry from what's now known as a "boy band"
I like how David pronounce Cavan 😃
Thats one of my cousins one of the guitar players
I sure hope they get back together from time to time. I'd be great to see a tour again.
I caught em live on their last tour. Amazing live band.
@@10syncro Three of them have a new band. The Zen Arcade. 5 piece now. A bit more punk/new wave. Less blues. But the songwriting is even better.
Dave liked em
And that's saying something!
Singer Ross Farrelly is just a 16 year old kid here.
fukin magic
Kickin arse and takin names
Alice Cooper told me about these guys. Rock on.
They're the next big movement since the beatles :D This live version is so much faster from the original, maybe they were nervous in front of letterman and went too fast haha :P
Utter bullshit! They're just replicate the old rhythm and blues sound. Check out a band called Dr Feelgood. You'll see this is nothing new.

What guitar is that? I fucking love it
I believe it's a Danelectro! They totally kick arse!!!

Pity
He didn’t know what hit him.
What this song?
Artist: The Strypes
Album: Snapshot
Released: 2013
Such a tight jam. So real Rock n Roll ain't dead. You just need to look for it.
10syncro Thank you!! This song is very cool!!
Shame these split. Drummer and bassist made that band without a doubt.
Those two have a new band. The Zen Arcade. Look 'em up. Almost better in way. More 'classic' less 'retro', if that makes any sense.
Is this band done?
yes
Split up now.......
Lads im from their school
I miss Letterman ,late night sucks!
allnightガチでおねがいライブ
Brilliant young band who were heavily influenced by Dr Feelgood I've heard they've split up hope that's 🙏 just a rumour
Undoubtedly waaaaay better than the fuckin' crappy One Direction and Back Street Boy-oriented crap out there :)
Disappeared
Bubble gum chewing English boys..i luv it
There not English there Irish.
They're Irish, or, as Samuel Beckett once said when someone asked him if he was English, "Au contraire..."
***** Here is the difference Northern Ireland is owned by England but the Republic of Ireland is not, look up the history you have got the internet.
Jam Slapper He's neither.
He's more than likely a 50 something, fat, bald drunk, that shouts about his shit local football team and goes home to beat his wife.
IRISH not ENGLISH
エバン血出て無いか
Drummer holds his sticks like Charlie Watts, jazzer style.
the music is great but the style is too heavily influenced by The Stokes. good stuff though
The Strokes never sounded like this..
Yeah, they're imitating Dr. Feelgood if anything.
Always a critic somewhere...be thankful it's not another weepy fucking softie band..they look the part, because they know the part...
+TommytheMod678 watch their documentary that's where they got their influence from
You're off. Definitely not the strokes
Amphetamines. An old trick. Wow I bet they got tempers
The gum chewer is trying too hard.
Solo was trash
Why can't bands pick original freaking names ? Jeez There already is The White Stripes and big deal it's spelled differently I'm not impressed I'll go listen to Dr. Feelgood
The y in stripes is from the byrds
